Falling down that cave had been one of the worst mistakes of your life. The monsters surrounding you now seem friendly- but there's something unsettling about how much they care for you, how you're always being watched and guided along long and narrow maze like hallways. All you know is that you can't bring yourself to look into their eyes, their voices already luring enough, who knows what might happen if you look- so just keep your head low friend, and hope you'll be home soon.
LiminalTale- where the underground is much larger and plunged into darkness ever since Toriel left. There is no Core to this place, just impossibly long hallways with windows to peer out into the dark abyss, you don't know whats out there but sometimes the shadows move and play tricks with your eyes.
Well, the Underground is sort of a hive mind, and with the queen gone, they'd to anything to plead for her return, so she gives them a trial. If they can keep any creature safe and alive for one year down here, by themselves, then she'd bring light back to the underground and return.
That proves to be a bigger challenge than anyone thought.
Sans is tasked by the queen to monitor a creatures HP- and if theyre harmed even a decimal then they failed and would have to wait for the next arrival whether is be human or animal.
Papyrus, Undyne, Alphys and Sans are tasked by Asgore to form a group, the main group and they call themselves the "Safety Committee." The Safety Committee is to protect who Toriel sends their way- and keep anything from harming them. That doesn't deter the corrupted monsters and entities outside those halls from trying to get to them though.
All hope seemed lost when Frisk was sent through, a clumsy little kid. The Safety Committee put on a smile and dared to lure the child in deeper, frustrated with them and their noncompliance- it would be a lot easier if the child were to give in and look.
Yet they didn't and the day came where the monsters weren't able to protect Frisk- they got harmed and once done, it was like a light had been switched. The entites wandered off while the Safety Committee watched in dissapointment and frustration as Frisk got a small slice on their hand... well. They were no use to the monsters any longer. When Frisk fell asleep that night- Sans made their death quick and painless.
Sans was confused, it hadn't even been a moment and suddenly he was stood and walking behind the group, slowing down as he realized where they were in the darkened hallway, barely lit up by flames that had once been Grillby. Had it been a dream? Or something more... and he soon found out as they came across Frisk at the Queen's doors... Sans had found an out.
He was so unsure at first- but Frisk seemed just as confused. One thing led to another and Frisk got hurt again- Sans, feeling clammy, wonders if this is the end this time but once again. Things reset. Over and over and Sans hates it, hates he can't keep a small child alive, hates he has to be the one to kill them over and over again. He loves the rush of knowing it'll reset and they have infinite amount of time to get this right.
