Various “scenes” that I will describe the context or world building of (since Mr. Splatoon does not like to world build pre great turf war era I have to Make things up) - this includes oc content
1 - As the war continued, there became noticeable personality changes within the troops. A once naive, bright-eyed girl became a paranoid and conniving woman over the course of a year of being in the war front. Agent 10, quickly adapted to the changes around her and became reactionary as a result - despite threatening her platoon mates, she never directly got charged of any crime thus allowing her continuation within the military.
2 - A predecessor to Octatronica (close/is modern Octarian “military” music), Octavio trained his personal guards through his koto playing; his music would conduct formations, battle positions, and tempo of the attack. Its effectiveness was studied and caught on to become a popular way to train the diligent Octarian army generals that looked for alternative methods to direct combat/training. Its simple, repetitive, yet captivating nature made it a popular genre of the time - a musical revolution began!
3 - “Not to bash your style, but it’s really damping our team synergy,” Octavio pleaded with one of his closest companions,”lay off the squiddymelons, won’t you?” His team must adhere to a public theme, and for the summer months of June to August they all decided to adorne red hues - in a show of commonality with the Octarian troops and unity. Yet this timing overlaps the squiddymelon season, a fruit with ink imbued within it. This usually wouldn’t be a problem, but his companion has ink sensitivity due to his close biological ties to his ancestors of the previous era, the mimic octopus. One bite of the inky fruit, and his hue changes immediately - due to his impatiences his companion eats the first melon he picks up, disregarding the color of ink extract.
4 - An art revolution began in Octo Valley under Octavio’s early years. Early Octarian culture often focused on the technical skills of art - landscape drawings, portraits, and historical/political art that depicted the literal prevailed in older Octo society. Yet as an era of prosperity began, an avant- guarde approach to art began to bloom — emotional painting styles and subjective perspective of the everyday took the youth by storm. Support from public Octo Government Funding also encouraged the art growth. Even in the face of the Great Turf War, as Octo society bent under the stress of war time measures and work hours, the avant guarde prevailed becoming a form of relief for Octarian Society. A famous artist of the time [pre-War] drew spirals and geometric shapes with bright and vibrant colors; this style of art became an all time favorite of one of Octavio’s companion, and used it as inspiration to incorporate into his daily makeup.
5 - As tensions rose within Inkling territory there became a push to increase troop recruits. Once isolated rural populations saw door to door recruiters, and every growing amount of recruiting stations. Agent 10 signed herself up as soon as one knocked, but due to a lack of skills was quickly put to be a recruiter at a solitary station. Despite the burning conditions of Calamari Country, she much rather work there than return home to be suffocated by her family’s ideas for her.
6 - Octavio snatches the lure off Craig’s person,” Seriously, where do you think you are.” Craig stiffens as he sees the lure in the other’s hand, he opens his mouth but quickly loses rationality. His struggle goes ignored in favor of chastising his inappropriate act. “This place isn’t some hook-up spot,” Octavio pinches the bridge of his nose,”we’re here for a potentially nation changing negotiation! Imagine if I didn’t understand Inkling culture — everyone in the meeting would’ve cut you to bits.” Craig responded blankly, watching Octavio march away. He continued to stare off - every possibility running in his mind. After minutes, it became clear to him that Octavio did not understand that he accidentally accepted his romantic advances.
