Captive Prince modern AU and like, everything is super chill

When Damen met Auguste, he stabbed him. With a pencil. In kindergarten.

Jokaste got drunk at a party and kissed both Damen and Kastor on the same night, it was awkward.

Kastor accidentally gave his father expired tea as a present, and then played a stupid prank on Damen that involved locking him in handcuffs and dumping him outside Laurent’s house.

Laurent let Damen fall asleep in his backyard, Damen woke up horribly sunburnt and the skin of his back peeled.

Once, Damen dropped a badge off his shirt when leaving a room. Nikandros stayed back to retrieve it for him.

Aimeric once accidentally ruined one of Laurent’s pranks by letting the plan slip and Laurent never let him forget it.

Nicaise still stabbed Damen with a fork though.

But the inherent tragedy of Laurent’s character isn’t that he doesn’t know what love is, it’s that he does. He had a good childhood. He had an older brother who adored and loved him. It wasn’t like Laurent didn’t know what it was to be loved. It’s that he did know what it was to be loved and he went from having the security of a good, family life, to absolute hell made all the worse by the fact that he knew how it could be.

i find it really funny when people label damen as this big dumb meathead who only ever gets anything done because his Sassy Nerd Boyfriend does all the thinking. my boi is a tactical genius who was commanding armies as a teenager and bested the vere army like it was nothing. this is the dude who was stuck in a foreign land as a slave and managed to win himself an army through intelligence and bravery. damen of Akielos is a brilliant man who also is a giant puppy that loves to run around outside and wrestle naked.
