rosedale, queens.

when i first moved to rosedale, it was different — it wasn’t like flatbush. it didn’t have the buzz of the inner city, but it was definitely the closest thing to black suburbia i’ve experienced. it was nice but that didnt mean everything was roses; there’s still a lot of pain in this town. every rose has thorns but that doesn’t stop you from admiring the beauty behind it.

four months ago, i left new york and went back south when covid kicked off, and really had the chance to find myself. we learn new things about ourselves everyday fr, even in the smallest ways. learn to unlearn to reset, apply, and conquer - my purpose has been more clear than ever. i worked on 6 projects, locked in fr and i’m so grateful for that and this time, honestly. + i got to tap in with my family too, we did that🌹.
