Final presented boards of my collection.
I use this background layout, as this looks best with my collection and we my colour pallete and media for the outfits are bold so i decided to go for a bit decant yet elegant.
I used the shapes as well as my inspiration mood board cut outs. Also, i used the cut out strips of the sheet i put underneath while i was using promarkers (while using pro-markers, by putting a sheet underneath the main drawing paper of designs, i got the stains of the color on the sheet and that was what i used for my presentation.)
I really enjoyed doing this task, my teacher suggested me and guided me towards the best possible presentation for my collection.
For presenting the designs, i divided them all into the 4 parts, as all of the designs moves around the theme of RED and i mashed the shades, tints and tones of red with other vibrant colors and so, 4 parts i have divided my designs are: tones of red and greens, for one board; shades of reddish pink and reddish purple, for the 2nd board; deep, blood reds, for the 3rd board; and lastly, reddish orange, and other tints and tones of red and blues, for 4th board.
Time to present them
As we are moving towards the end. We now have to present our design collections and make appealing boards for them And for presentation, we had to try different layout backgrounds for the boards. And we were told to try atleast 4-5 different layouts before selecting one for all and just have a look, what looks best as a layout background for the collection.
So, here are few ideas that comes in my mind and i tried making some layouts here and i am going to select one from them and will be going forward to stick them all and make perfect Visually appealing boards.
My inspiration mood board
This is the mood board which moves around the my inspirations in creating my own ss25 collection. It has everything i took inspiration from. ( from the 1940s mood boards to the illustrators and the ss25 key trends and my color palette)
Text mind map for press release.
This mind map really helped menin writing a good press release for my collection. I used all thd key words that comes in my mind while making this collection and while seeing it.
Press release
This is my first draft of my press release, what i wrote about my collection of ss25
This was my first try and my first time writing a press release by myself.
My teacher really helped me with this by teaching hiw to write a press release and she have shown us some examples of press release written by the past students, just so we get a brief idea of how we can write ours by ourselves and without anyone's help.
Our teacher put us into an exam condition after teaching how to do it. And i completed this on my own in a limited time period. I wven tried to give my collection a name, which i think really suits the collection and is representing the designs.
Editing / selscting the final 12 out of all the media Experimentations.
These are the final 12 with media , I've selected.
So in this editing time, i got a final chance, that if i had to change something in them in terms of media ( like building up the colors ) and so I've build up the media of the green feather skirt as it is very light in this ( especially the drape behind) so I've darken it a bit more, just to match with the colour theme with the others ( i do not have a picture for the final skirt look for that design, but when i will reveal the final look after presenting them, we will be able to see the change in that.)
Overall, i really enjoyed this task. It was so helpful and my teacher really helped in selecting these.
I absolutely love my collection, the designs, the color palette, the media and everything is all looks stunning and fabulous.
And with this we are now moving forward for the presentation task. And i am now going to present them nicely to make amazing boards for this collection.
Media Experimentation on the final 12 designs
So, these are the final look reveal of all my media Experimentations. These are 24 looks of different medias.
As i said earlier, I got a task to photocopy my 12 final designs onto the drawing paper TWICE. So i get 2 photocopies for each one of the design and so i can experiment the media on them according to my color pallete on each one of these. And so, i used different medias like pro markers, acrylic paints, watercolors, pencil crayons and collage.
And by photocopying twice, it really helps me in improving my work and my media application skills and right choice of color combos. It also helps me in choosing the perfect stunning and best of all 12 piece collection. As i now have lots of options and by that i am going to select my 12 piece final collection with media for my 12 desings i did.
P.s., for some of the designs, i did more then 2 medias for them, may be because i was not very sure with my media, also while doing the others i was getting ideas in my mind " for example maybe i can do this color for that, which would look good or may be this type of media ". Which is what, i think is a good sign that i have improved my creative eye for looking at the perfection. And i think that only happened because of this task, which is good for me.
As we can see, my colour pallete moves around red. And in all these i have worked on different tones of red, as my colour theme was red. Which was the key color trend of spring summer 2025.
This one is done with the pro-markers. My camera unfortunately turned off while recording so did not have the whole vedio but here we have the final look for this outfit.
This was the first try. I might change the media or the colour for the second try.
Continuing working on media Experimentation. This one is done with water colours and pro markers. This was yhe first try for this outfit design. And i am going to give each outfit atleast 2 different medias. So i can get a great idea of which one is the best and which one would be the best for the board.
Inspired by the red colour theme, i Experimented the media with the shade of red onto my design. I used acrylic paints here and used some colour pencils and water colors to blend them all and tried to represent my fabrics through the media.
Experimenting the media on my designs.
This one is done with water colors and i used brown colour pencils as well to define it
My final collection of 12 outfit design
These are my 12 FINNAL outfits.
As we moved forward towards editing, after completing 20 outfit designs, the next task was to choose 12 most favorite and most elegant outfit designs you like and you designed. And so, i selected these 12 which, i edited afterwords.
By editing, it means that we got to edit the 12 final selected pieces and edit it in a way to make it look realistic and so it does not just look like it is just stick on the body. So we got to make it realistic and define it a bit. And also, we are now re drawing, editing the garments, with the whole body, pose and the face as well.. so we need to do this with full of perfection.
Also, in this editing time, we got the chance if we need to change a bit in our designs or if we need to git it nore definition or change the sleeves or anything, we can do that.
So in these i changed some, as i changed the sleeves style in one or two and neck style in one, i tried to make some realistic flares in one of the skirts, i made the bow ( in the bow pants ) more realistic then it was before. Even i mashed two of my designs together.
All these editings made my outfits look stunning and even more elegant.
In the end, when we were done with the editing, we then moved towards the media part, where we got to apply media on it and to do that, we need to make 2 photocopied of each of the layout sheet of our finalized 12 designs on the drawing papers, so we can test and experiment the media on a photcopy papers and don't spoil the original pieces...
As we completed our 12 designs,
Here is the next task...
The task here is to make 8 more designs by mashing up the 12 designs we did earlier.
The inspiration is still the same which is 1940s mood boards.
And by making these 8 designs we got the total of 20 different outfits and designs.
We use the same process, same as for the other 12 outfits. We used the layout paper and put our pose underneath and by looking at the pose and body we made designs but this time we mashed up the different designs we did inspired by the mood boards and i take some other elements from my mood boards. soo, we were told to mash up any design out of 12 we like, make 1 separate outfit design and end up we have 20 designs in total
And now, as i got 20 designs, i have a great idea in my mind for which once, i am gonna be taking forward. This task was so helpful as, i improved my skills towards outfit designs and got enough options and ideas of how to make a good garment and that too OTT... we also gained so much of knowledge of how we can merge/ mash up the two outfits together to make one perfect outfit.
And by finishing up this task we moved forward for the editing. ( i am gonna be sharing that sooon )
