RANDOM SIM GENERATOR (click here!)
I’ve been having a lot of trouble coming up with unique sims to populate my town as townies/NPCs for my main sims to interact with. The ‘Randomize Sim’ button almost always produces very odd and (to me) unusable sims, and let’s face it, I lack the imagination to come up with 20+ townies from scratch.
So I made a generator for that! This generator will produce very simplistic but helpful ideas for a sim upon the click of a button. It includes the basics (such as skin and eye color) and also 2 defining traits (the rest can be up to you) and 2 suggested favourite colours (for use in their clothing/makeup/etc). It also picks a defining feature of their face, so that you can have an idea of where to start on their face sculpting. I’ve found it immensely helpful already.
Here’s two examples of what it can generate:
Sul-sul! My initials are KT. My skin is light/tan, my hair is brown and my eyes are green. People would say that my most defining feature is my full lips. My favourite colours are purple and white. My most defining traits are Lucky and Good Sense of Humor. Will you make me in Create-A-Sim?
Sul-sul! My initials are HC. My skin is medium/dark, my hair is black and my eyes are brown. People would say that my most defining feature is my beauty mark(s). My favourite colours are yellow and green. My most defining traits are Charismatic and Family-Oriented/Nurturing. Will you make me in Create-A-Sim?
Some details/tips:
I have intentionally made alien skin/eyes and unnatural-coloured hair more rare than natural varieties. You are more likely to roll a realistic sim than an alien sim, this is simply my preference.
I have made unusual initials more rare than common initials. For example, ‘X’ will roll far less than most of the rest of the alphabet (but it’s not impossible!).
I have combined certain traits to appear together because I either think they are very similar to each other or just to give a little bit of personal choice. For example, I have combined the traits Mean-Spirited and Hot-Headed– if you don’t like having a really nasty bully in town, they can be toned down to just have a bit of a temper instead.
Most EP-specific traits have been omitted from the trait list, to prevent having to re-roll if you don’t own Showtime, for example. Of course, these EP-specific traits can be chosen by you as one of their other 3 out of 5 traits!
Some traits have been omitted as they are more suitable as ‘minor’ traits than ‘major’ personality traits– for example, Never Nude, Light Sleeper and Technophobe.
Of course, these are just starting points and ideas for a sim! If you don’t like certain colour combos (red hair, alien skin and purple clothes? yuck) just forget about ‘em and use the rest of the things you enjoy about the generated sim. *shrug*

Feel free to edit the source code to suit your own needs if you wish! Maybe you want to make a berry-sim specific one, or omit/add more traits, or make aliens more common? Go nuts!
