@sso-mysteries
seeing some random person also riding around in some ungodly corner of jorvik at 2 am on a sunday
You know how some universities give a week long reading break so the students can actually sleep for once catch up on class material? I propose sso gets a two week long bug break where they can catch up on bug fixes.
This is not for me
i died when you turned and shes right behind you sdkfjgh
"I ended up in some fucking cult"T
thats it, thats the game
I literally want ALL of the iceys someone help omg
*gross sobbing* they deserved better
(( i had a post/reblog by @windforestsso & @twracehorse on my dash, which reminded me that i meant to share this!! ))
something @queugame & i talked about while we were busy being hunted for sport with the Gambit, was the fact that what haunts us is a memory, not the real deal.
and that had me thinking;
if we are on at least somewhat better terms with the man himself, thanks to last year,,,the idea of having this memory of him hunt you down to harm you, something thatâs out of his own control in the present,,,that kinda stings.
it also made me think about that text you get when he catches you, the one we probably all saw at least once: âEverything suddenly starts getting darker and darker around youâŠBefore you fade away completely, you feel a pair of freezing cold but very strong hands lift you up.â
what if thatâs not your demise or some mystical interventions to get you back home - what if thatâs the actual, real Galloper getting you away from the memory in the last second, which is why you end up back at a safe location afterwards?
i dunno,,,just having many thoughts,,,
good things sse has been doing!
1) theres obvs player model and npc updates in the works, even if weâre only gonna get to see one dark rider updated anytime soon (unclear if itâs just sabine or no) and that the player model is still unspecified months away, itâs still in the works and thats great. (not void of criticism but still good steps!)Â
2) main story quests seem to be somewhat in progress, considering the fripp one from recently and the upcoming quest probably relating to the main story whether or not being an immediate continuation of the last part. it feels like we might get more story quests in the next year? (i hope they also add interesting gameplay elements aka not just âtalk and fetchâ quests.)
3) the area updates we got this year, like steveâs farm and silverglade village, were really pretty. (i wish the baker guy in silverglade had his own little bakery that we could enter, that we could enter the post office and derek was inside, that there were npcs who walk around, but its still really nice!)
4) most the horses that they release are beautiful and the tongue animation and stuff has added a lot to the horsesâ personality. (i still wish we got bonding mechanics and many improvements to the actual horse mechanics of the horse game, but i also love the horses)
5) they are clearly planning improved events, and we might be seeing bits and pieces of that with the updates to halloween this year and last, and now horses of jorvik getting updated to have horse sales this time (tho we dont know if its a permanent change or not, and its not anything to write home about, but its still a good move).

that one line in the recent comic did not let me restâŠ.i took some liberties with the hair length & some details of the outfit, but i hope it still suffices <:
to quote @queugame;Â âPOV, youâre the last soldier to round the corner and youâre greeted with this.â
WAIT THERES A SALE ON HORSES??!?! HAS THIS EVER HAPPENED BEFORE IN SSO?????? :O
this is such a genuinely good idea for horses of jorvik?????? now theres like an actual benefit to this race eventâŠ. putting themed horses (aka western rn) on sale for a short time. this is good i really like this
has anyone heard anything else about this? is it true?
(bc if they consciously stop giving us sc after 2 weeks of not logging in, im pretty sure that needs to be clearly advertised in the info about lifetime in order to not be false advertising. but i have no clue if this is a thing or not)
once i didnât play for 3 months and i never got star coins so yes, it has happened

SSO Ambassador here! I asked the team about this and this is completely false! All star riders are entitled to and should be receiving 100sc each week even if they havenât logged in recently.
That doesnât mean these stories are entirely fabricated though, if a player doesnât log in for a few weeks and only uses the Friends app to see how much SC they have, they will only see the amount they had the last time they logged in. To see the updated amount they have to log into the game for the app to sync correctly.
If you do log into the game and find a discrepancy with your star coins, feel free to report it on SSOâs website so that they can stamp out any potential bugs. :D
thank you for the answer! (i havent checked twitter yet after waking up so idk if sso got back to me there too)
After learning the tragic death of Galloperâs mare, Morrigan, you return to the broken bridge that separates the isolated island. Dusk has fallen as you mind the fact that the Jarlssonâs live nearby. Surely they donât mind to see you, but perhaps not so late at night.Â
Youâve always been curious of what secrets the burned down remains were. Itâs been a mystery for years. But now you knowâŠ..
Gaining the courage to not look too deep into the dark waters, you jump from one rotting pillar to the next. Surprisingly keeping your balance on the structures. They groan in objection to your weight. One final leap and youâve made it! Disturbing the dirt that no one has stepped foot on since the incident. Surely if they feared the man and his horse enough to cause their deaths, the locals mustâve left the land to itself, concluding it to also be cursed. Nowadays itâs just a myth. Still, no one dares to tread upon the small island.Â
Heading in the general direction you remembered from Lindaâs vision. You reach into your bag and pull out a bundle of wild flowers. Crouching down to scoop dirt into a pile, adding rocks to keep the flowers upright, the small monument was finished.Â
The moonlight streaming through the broken and ashen boards, after a moment of silence you stand back up. Not so ready to leap on broken planks hanging over inky water, but you must to get back to normal land.Â
Unbeknownst to you, there was a visitor. Watching peculiarly at the familiar figure beyond the bridge. He had come back to mourn the loss of his faithful steed. Remembering the sorrow and anger he felt in those moments, the stable aflame, and the painful cries echoing in his head.Â
Stumbling to your knees while landing on the bridge thatâs half submerged in water. The darkness messing with your perception of where things are. You notice the cobblestone is being lit by something nearby. Eyes widening at the realization that itâs the mare herself and the only man chosen to ride her. Quickly picking yourself up and giving them a wide birth to move around them. Morrigan gazes calmly, puffing a deep exhale from her nostrils. You think of saying something, but nothing comes to mind. Nodding as you excuse yourself from their presence.Â
Galloper nudges Morrigan forward, as if the bridge was still intact, they have no issues crossing over towards the stable remains. Dismounting to kneel in front of the hastily created offering. His steed lowering her head, to look with his eyes and her own, at the various flowers picked from all over Jorvik. Galloper turns in the direction that you went. Climbing onto Morriganâs back and riding into the night. The moon shines bright and the stars flutter and dance in the dark spaces of the sky.

The morning sun rises like any other. Opening the stable doors to get a start on early morning chores so you can go on the trails with your chosen steed. Your eye catches on a small box on the ground. Bending down to get a closer look, you curiously peek inside. Itâs a small pendant on a silver chain. In the shadows of the box, the pendant also seems to have a faint glow. Wondering who wouldâve sent this gift to you, the realization hits you. Itâs just a hopeful theory, but perhaps itâs not outrageous to think that it was from the legend himself. Clasping the chain around your neck, you continue your daily routine. Excited to venture into the forests as the sun dips past the mountains just to catch a glimpse at the specter on his ignited steed.

seconding that its new or a glitch, ive been star rider since 2013 and have gone YEARS inactive only to return to an INSANE amount of coins. iirc even this past year Iâve been getting sc even when inactive, but I could be misremembering as I donât pay attention lol
yeah itâs totally new. i regularly donât play for like months at a time to rack of star coins, just spent like 3,500 coins on the halloween stuff on my alt lol
i sent them a tweet asking abt it but they might not have time to answer, we will see. hopefully its just a bug
SSE isnât giving us a male player option because theyâre going to be releasing a new game called âStar Garageâ, a game for boys based around buying and racing cars. Everyone knows horses are for girls. The only horses that boys care about are the ones under the hood. In âStar Garageâ, new players begin at Moorlandâs Garage and are tasked with restoring a vintage Jorvette. They later learn that their Jorvette is their Soul Car, and that they themselves are the earthly incarnation of the god Carnok. Players aid an oil drilling company called âCar Coreâ (not evil) in defending against an all-female organization of horse-riding industrial saboteurs. Players can participate in a variety of races, such as offroading and autocross, in either timed events or in competitions with other players. There are many makes and models of cars to choose from, starting at the low, low price of only 950 CC (AKA âCar Coinsâ) Open Beta begins soon, so make sure to sign up and claim your FREE BUMPER STICKER!!! (Your choice of either âReal boys play with Pintos, not poniesâ or âMy other ride is a Jorvetteâ)
i love how a lot of queer ppl have the same experience of toning down ur identities/labels for cishet people so tag this what you actually label yourself v.s what you tell cishet people
Star Stable's Johan Sj
ive read this now and sorry but most was bullshit
Haha, that was the funniest thing Iâve read in a long while. Here are my favourite quotes:
âEnsure you understand the needs of each segment and, ideally, regularly release updates or new content that caters to each segmentâs needs â
lol
âWe broke our all-time daily active user record on the first day of our birthday celebrationâ
Congrats, did you go over the usually 3% that is your active player base?
âHonesty and transparency goes a long way when it comes to explaining what youâre doing, why you are doing it, and what you are hoping to achieveâ
Yes, because SSE has never lied to us
transparency is definitely the first thing that comes to mind when i think of sse
Ensure you understand the needs of each segment and, ideally, regularly release updates or new content that caters to each segment's needs.
wow really? what are us older players getting that we really want. hm, SSE? HMM? WHY DONT YOU TELL US WHAT WE WANT SINCE APPARENTLY THAT'S WHAT YOU'RE GIVING US
But you should be listening and making conscious choices so that you don't inadvertently fragment your audience.
congrats you failed
and the reflection of our players makes a huge difference when it comes to communicating with players and understanding their needs.
yes but how often do you actually do anything about it. I can count three times this year you have: the roadmaps, the flea-bitten Arabian fiasco, and the riding hall lines. After much, much pressure from the community. (not saying I agree with all these movements that went down, just citing examples)
and finally
Most recently, for our tenth anniversary we delivered the most requested reward in the game -- a free horse. We asked our players to vote on the design and then released it as a birthday gift for every player. We broke our all-time daily active user record on the first day of our birthday celebrations, with 90% of our active players claiming the horse that same day.
This bothers me. I don't know why, I can't put my finger on it, but this bothers me. Like... the only thing that made players log on was a free horse? SSO do you have nothing else to offer us to make us want to log on??
last night I had a nightmare that as part of one of SSO's big updates, it gave the game an optional romance storyline.
Wanna romance Justin? check. How about Josh? Mhmm. Ydris? Of course. Scott Buttergood? You need psychiatric help but yep he's an option too.
and then there was "aro? no worries! just don't pick anybody!"
so yeah that's the story of how a nightmare version of SSO has more identity options than current irl SSO
