The Next Day (Catching your Second Pokemon)
(previous post)
You wake up the next day feeling refreshed, excited to help Alex search for her missing friend. You call her phone a couple times as you get ready. She picks up on the third try, her voice groggy as she tells you to meet her at the Equestrian Center around noon.
After sharing breakfast with your team, you decide to leave Moorland early so you can explore the island more. Gearing up Earnhast, you follow the same path you took yesterday, stopping at Doyle's Abbey; the pumpkins scattered around Moorland made you feel festive, and you wanted to catch a pokemon befitting Halloween. Once you confirm the Spiritomb is gone, you carefully wander in, curious as to what you might find.
Which pokemon will you catch?
Pumpkaboo
Ghastly
Spinarak
Greavard
Litwick

Your encounter with Sabine left you disoriented, rushing your pokemon to the nearest center to heal them. While you waited for the nurse to return them, you thought back upon the eventful day you had: the Mayor, the Baroness, Alex, Sabine.... The last two caught your attention with their requests--if you could call Sabine's demand a request. Missing people and battle-crazy women was not what you expected from Jorvik, especially during your first week here. Once the nurse returned your two pokemon, you hopped onto Earnhast and returned to Moorland to retire for the night. Unfortunately, you found relaxing impossible, faced with the decision of what to do tomorrow.
What would you like to do next?
Search for Linda
Find one of the gyms

Battle with Sabine
(previous post)
You aren't entirely sure what this woman is talking about with the rumors, but you decide to battle her anyways.
To say it ended badly is a horrible understatement. Even with the type advantage Piplup had over her Ninetales, you never stood a real chance. Ninetales itself even looked bored, yawning while it easily beat your two pokemon.
The woman grimaced at your poor performance. "Honestly, I should have expected to be disappointed. No one on this island knows how to battle properly."
Her Ninetales barked in agreement, adding to your embarassment.
Shaking her head, she returns it to its pokeball. "I've grown bored. You, newcomer, are going to entertain me."
You stare at her dumbfounded while she walks back into the stable, mounting her Rapidash.
"There are eight gyms here in Jorvik. Beat them." She takes off, her Rapidash leaving scorching hoof prints.
At that moment, your phone buzzes: Alex finally sent you the pictures, along with an apology about leaving so suddenly. One of the women, Sabine, looked awfully familiar. Almost like you just saw her ride off a moment ago.

Meeting Sabine
(previous post)
Alex and her Luxray are long gone by the time you make it back to the manor. In fact, the whole area was eerily empty. You quickly head over to the equestrian center, where you are greeted by an odd-looking Earnhast in the stall next to yours. Upon closer inspection (and questioning your eyesight) you realize that the pokemon is not an Earnhast at all, but a Rapidash. Your surprise is soon interrupted when you feel a pair of eyes on your back, hot as embers.
You turn around, forced to look up to meet the gaze of the woman responsible. Her harsh glare makes you turn away immediately, and she scoffs.
"Really? You can't even look at me? You might as well scurry back to Moorland with the rest of those wimps." She shakes her head, her long, dark flowing behind her.
You almost side-eye her, but decide you would rather remain in one piece.
"Battle me."
Your eyes widen as she holds up a luxury ball, gesturing outside.
"Prove you're worth taking up the same space as me. Prove that the rumors are true."
Will you Battle Sabine?
Yes
No

Meeting Alex Pt. 2
(previous post)
You tell Alex you would be happy to help her, and she smiles.
"Great! Here, gimmie your phone."
You do as you are told, and Alex types in her number before handing it back to you.
"I'll send you some pictures of who I'm looking for so just keep an eye out for them, alright?"
Her eyes widen as she looks at her own phone, and she glances up at you sheepishly.
"Okay, so I know you were just stood up by the Baroness"--you glare at her and the rest of the sentence rushes out of her mouth--"but I seriously have a meeting happening in like ten minutes and I really need to get over there right now so I'll see you later bye!"
At that she runs off towards the manor, her Luxray close behind.
You watch them disappear before following in their footsteps. You wanted to get back to your Earnhast and start searching for these people as soon as possible.

Meeting Alex
(previous post)
"Hey! Ms. Baroness!"
The Baroness jumped, looking down at her watch. "Oh, is it that time already? I'm afraid I have to go. It was lovely meeting you, dear."
Before you could respond, the woman took off, calling for a man named Godfrey.
She was quickly replaced by someone else: a girl with an orange beanie, her Luxray close behind.
"Darn, just missed her," the girl groaned, dragging her hands down her face. "She's totally avoiding me."
She stared after the Baroness for a beat before finally noticing you.
"Oh, hey! She avoiding you too?"
You shrug, telling her how the Baroness had run off mid conversation.
"Yeah, she did that to me too, but now she's acting like I don't even exist," she shook her head, mumbling, "I'll never understand rich people."
The girl suddenly stuck her hand out towards you. "I'm Alex, by the way!"
You shake her hand and tell her your name, before asking what she wanted to tell the Baroness.
"Well, a lot of things...none of which she wants to tell me. I'm actually looking for a few people. Mainly my friend, Linda, she works for the Baroness." Alex jerks her thumb towards the Manor. "She's usually cooped up in the library when she's not busy, but she's not there. She's not answering my texts either! I'm starting to get worried."
You ask her about the other people she is looking for. Alex scowls, glaring in the direction of the factory.
"Y'know who Dire Corps is right? I can tell you just got here, but you can't be that new to Jorvik. I'd be surprised if people from other regions hadn't heard about their evilness."
You nod.
"The other people I'm looking for work for them. Even if they didn't work for Dire Corps, they'd still be trouble."
She stops, eying you with the same intense stare her Luxray has been giving you since the conversation started. Finally, she nods to herself.
"So, would you wanna help me look for them?"
*Note: this is where the story begins to split between the good and bad route. Regardless of the result of this poll, you will still have a chance to start the other route in the next poll. You can also do both routes if you would like (i.e. saying yes to this poll and the next one).
Will you help Alex?

Meeting the Baroness
(previous post)
You approach Silverglade Manor in search of the Baroness, ignoring the gorgeous architecture in your worry. Thankfully, she was easy to spot in her elegant attire. You quickly ride up to her and explain the Mayor's request.
"How kind of him to check in on me. How kind of you both. Please, dear, let your horse rest at the stable and follow me; it will be easier for both of us if I show you what the problem is."
You dismount Earnhast and leave him at the stable. Returning to the Baroness, you walk across the grounds to the racetrack, where a crowd had gathered. You somehow missed them before.
"The people are upset. I am as well, of course. Dire Corps is a nasty group--oh, what I would give to have my racetrack back," she sighs. "Tell me, dear, how much did the Mayor explain to you? I can tell you are new to Jorvik."
Not a lot, you tell her. Your confusion has only grown since your conversation with the Mayor.
"Allow me to explain then. Dire Corps has been trying to buy Jorvegian land for almost a decade now in order to build their factories, one of which is right here. I know they have others in Epona as well. Now, not only do these factories displace the wild Pokemon, they also pollute the island. Oh, the poor Ralts that used to live in the nearby fields. I haven't seen any since that factory was built."
You ask her what they make in the factories. She pauses, turning to look at the crowd. You can see an unsettling gray building peeking out above their heads.
"They make pokemon." She pauses again. "They illegally import pokemon, and in that factory they are transformed into...robotic monsters. The pokemon they don't import they steal from their trainers and their habitat.
"I have a request of my own for you, dear, as unrealistic as it may be."
You turn to face her.
Before she can speak, a figure emerges from the crowd, storming towards you.
"Hey! Ms. Baroness!"

Arrived at Silverglade
(previous post)
Your awe for the colorful houses is quickly replaced with confusion. The village was empty. You wander around looking for someone until you come across an older man in a suit, pacing beneath a large, white building. He must be the mayor.
You introduce yourself and hand him the documents. Upon seeing your worried expression, he chuckles softly and explains what is going on.
"I see you've noticed the townspeople are not here. They have all gone to the Baroness' Racetrack--well, that is what it used to be. A terrible group by the name of Dire Corps, the same group messing with Mr. Moorland, bought the land and they've built a factory upon it. You see, the people were already upset with GED and the oil field, but now they're furious."
You ask him what they are producing in the factory.
"I would tell you, lad, but it disgusts me to even think about it. Those poor Pokemon..." He shakes his head, sighing. "I would have joined everyone else, of course, but I have to maintain my image lest Dire Corps takes legal action.
"I cannot imagine how the Baroness herself is feeling: she was always so attached to the idea of her racetrack, even though it's sat under construction for years now. Could you do me a favor and check on her for me? She should be up by Silverglade Manor."
You agree, your worry increasing as you follow the path up to the manor. What is happening in Jorvik?

After that encounter, you decided you should catch a friendlier Pokemon.

After introducing yourself to your Earnhast, Justin hands you its pokeball and its tack. Over the next few days he gives you riding lessons and you bond with your two new pokemon.
Once Justin decides you're ready, he gifts you some pokeballs and tells you to go and explore the rest of Jorvik and all it has to offer. But first, he has a small request.
He briefly explains that Moorland Stables was being threatened by a larger company who wanted to take the land, and that his father, Thomas Moorland, needed to prove he actually owned the land. Thomas has all the necessary documents ready, and he would appreciate it if you could deliver them to the mayor of Silverglade Village so they can be submitted to the Jorvik Council.
Of course, you accept the task and gather the documents before leaving Moorland Stables and heading off to Silverglade Village, following the map Mrs. Holdsworth had given you.
