“Chocolate. Yes. YES!” Sojin’s response was emphatic and eager, her appetite for sweets piqued at the mere mention of chocolate. She’d been on a strict “comeback” diet for over a month now, her meals consisting mainly of low-fat protein, veggies and rice; A diet that left much to be desired.
“You know what would really hit the spot right now...? A chocolate milkshake. I don’t care that it’s technically still winter. That’s exactly what I want right now!”
“You know what? Forget it. I’m not even shocked any more.”
Sojin’s fingers absently clenched into her palm, feeling them dampen with nervous sweat at the confrontation. She was not used to people being quite to blunt and forceful with her, particularly people she’d never encountered before, and it left her completely unsure how to respond. Catching her lower lip between her teeth, she chewed at it, eyes down cast to stare at her feet, toes turned inward in a rather child-like stance. Swallowing thickly, she just nodded, listening to the other’s sharp words, unable to make eye contact.
The brief sentence was enough to send Sojin into a state of panic.
Her eyes darted open wide, her palms taking turns brushing off each opposite shoulder in an attempt to send whatever arachnid was on her shoulder launching into time and space (or, at least, elsewhere in the room). The display of flailing arms and high pitched squeals of disgust was a bit longer than what one might describe as “brief”, a duration during which she was unaware of her companion simply sitting across from her and laughing. It wasn’t until she’d made entirely too much of a scene that she stopped, hands dropping to her sides in a huff as she scowled at him in discontent.
