Graduation
I’m out of the hospital and I’m mostly all better. I never got the tube because I started eating again. Mom made me wear this froufy pink dress that I hated. At graduation I went to the bathroom and couldn’t recognize myself in the mirror. I was so skinny and pale and it scared me. I think I can eat again.

It’s a lot easier deciding to kill yourself than actually doing it. I held scissors up to my skin and they were very cold. I picked a wrong time because right as I cut myself, Elizabeth walked in with my lunch tray. I think I’m getting the tube.

I made a list of pros and cons of why I shouldn’t kill myself. The cons won.
weight
I’m still losing more weight. Today I hopped in a cab outside the hospital to try to escape. The driver wouldn’t take me anywhere so I got out and waited for a new cab. It was really hot and a guard came over to me. I think I fainted.
Nora
I ate my lunch with Nora today. Well, more like I gave Nora my food. But she was happy to eat it. She said Brownie never lets her eat good food.
Hospital
I’m staying at a hospital called Cedars-Sinai. They wouldn’t write down I’m here because of a diet, not a headache. This blows. Someone has to sit with me through my meals to make sure I’m eating 75% of my food. Elizabeth isn’t good at math so I told her I ate half of my meal..
WHAT?!
Dr. Gold, the shrink, told my parents I have anorexia nervosa. I do not! He’s a phony. I just don’t like to eat. There’s nothing wrong with not eating! Kate does it, Mom does it, people at school do it, and they don’t have to go to the hospital. This is stupid.
Dr. Katz
Mom took me to Dr. Katz to find out why I wasn’t eating. He told me to drink milk and that made mom really happy for some reason. There’s no way I’m going to drink milk.
Food
I didn’t eat breakfast and I didn’t eat lunch either. When we were at lunch I looked down and noticed my legs looked fat if they weren’t crossed. So I kept them crossed. I was kind of hungry when we went to visit the Washington Monument but it was nice. I felt empty and skinny. Maybe this is why Kate doesn’t eat much. I didn’t eat a lot of dinner either.
Hair
My hair used to be blonde but it kept getting darker and darker and now it’s brown. “Dishwater” brown. One of mom’s magazines have pictures of three ladies with different colored hair. The redhead and the blonde looked like they were off to Hawaii, but the brunette looked like she was about to cry. So I guess I have hair that makes you want to cry.
