do you think des is going to be a love interest for devi? (or perhaps someone else in the show)
howdy! 🤠 i honestly am not sure! initially that was my thought cuz i think it’s the most “obvious” answer, whatever that means exactly. and i do think it’s a strong possibility — perhaps it would look something like, smart boy from a private school shows up at like, an academic competition that devi is at and they have some sort of flirty moment or something (that perhaps leads to a jealous ben moment? 👀 wouldn’t be mad.)
the issue i see with that is how he would become a recurring character without breaking up her and paxton like, fairly early on in the season, which i think seems unlikely. it seems to me like they are really trying to give both sets of fans (benvi/dacron fans, that is) some good food if you will. and also narratively this wouldn’t make a lot of sense. so my question is, if Devi and Paxton are together, and Des goes to a private school, why does he wind up being around so much if he’s a love interest for Devi?
but theeeeennn @thefabulousfab-3 pointed out that aneesa went to private school before sherman oaks and he may be someone from her past 👀 (using the side eye emoji liberally today it seems). of the ideas i’ve had/read, this is my favorite so far - both for plausibility and plot reasons. but the more i’m thinking about it, the more i think both of these theories could wind up being true at the same time! and honestly we know so little that he could wind up being something completely random, like a new neighbor or another cousin or something. maybe kamala has a brother we’ve never heard about! who knows! not me! haha
i’m really excited to see where his character goes regardless :) on most ensemble-focused shows i wouldn’t be but i liked aneesa so much that i’m not worried regardless of who he turns out to be.
