Uhh spoiler warning for NodKrai AQ just in case you haven't done it yet/somehow avoided spoilers of it 🥹
Alright, that's the warning outta the way..
Thinking about this at 4:45 am got me really thinkin about it, so:
Columbina should've been the bad guy of Nod Krai and not Dottore.
Like... the potential she had. The Potential TM . I essentially thought of a small.. AU (?) of what I think should've actually happened/changes I'd personally make. Smiles.
Let's start off with the Wild Hunt. Um. As cool and hot as Rerir is, what if we just... don't? Instead the Wild Hunt would be say, black ice figures. Given semi sentience by Miss Bina. They spawn in patches of Nod Krai that have the dreaded subzero climate meter. Yes, as much as we all hate it, I'm bringing it back. Do these patches go away?... 🤷♀️.
Oh yeah, I'm changing Bina's element to cryo. And like... completely changing her aesthetic/thing from angel dove goddess thing to icy, misleading fallen angel. Redesign her outfit and include pink/red instead of blue. Make this outfit intentionally lighter in color and more innocent/friendly.
At first she'd be an "ally" to the traveller, helping them a little in the first acts of the AQ. However, some investigation work reveals that she's actually an angel corrupted by the Abyss. The origin point of the corruption is her eyes, which explains them being closed and the blindfold. It's a thin illusion to not show the corruption.
Knowing this, Bina essentially abandons the traveller to continue towards her goals on her own. She'll be able to, obviously. Of course she'd be able to, the traveller's only human as far as she's aware.
This is where her voice comes in. Yippee!! During the next few acts, she uses her singing to freeze the air around her so much that it's almost freezing time itself. That, and she uses it to get into places heavily guarded that she just has to get into.
Somehow (Nefer probably cuz yk her silly little memory enter box thing) the traveller figures out Bina's real name (Personally I think it should be Lucifer but that may just be Obey Me! coming to bite me in the ass. Though I think it's more likely to be an off screen discovery that pops up later down the line) and that Columbina was only a name given to her by The Fatui because she refused to tell them her name. The Damsellette was used to signify her status within the Harbingers and that was it. It also reveals what she's planning to do... aka wipe out Nod Krai for "forcing her fall from grace". They have not. It's been thousands (?) of years.
Upon learning this and returning to the real world, someone bursts into the room claiming that the others have spotted Bina and are tracking her as they spoke. And then it's big serious time.
This is where the big fight (and weekly boss) comes in. I want the boss to be a pretty normal-ish first phase (yes we bringing back phases bcs I said so), then the cutscene plays in transition to phase 2. In the cutscene, Bina floats up to the sky as wings form on her back. I'd say 4 sets of 2. The blindfold fades away, and she opens her eyes suddenly, it zooms out to the traveller being thrown backwards slightly before they look up at Bina again. Cut to Bina's face, as she smiles and GETS HER FREAKING HARBINGER INTRO CARD.
"Columbina: Third of the Fatui Harbingers."
"The Fallen, Corrupted Angel."
Or it'll say something along the lines of that. The name given could be swapped out with her real name... whatever I decide it is. Also her clothes are dark gray/black main color now and much, MUCH sharper. Anyway, cutscene basically ends there.
Enter second phase. Bina doesn't actually attack you herself until you deplete a shield(?) that she has. She'll send advanced ice figurines after you (and to make it worse, reduce your movement speed by applying cryo using her voice) and you have to defeat them all before you can actually damage her. She'll swoop down, land in the middle of the field, and you have to defeat her before the shield goes back up or before she does the Signature Instadeath Move.
After you defeat her, the traveller will try to purify her, only to realise that the corruption has gotten so bad they can barely make a dent in it. Yada yada, lore happens, and she's no longer a threat.
Imma end this here cuz I'm actively falling asleep. Lemme know if you have any idead to expand upon this :3
I will get this twink. I will get this twink. I will get this twink. I will get this twink. I will get this twink. I will get this twink. I will get this twink. I will get this twink. I will get this twink. I will get this twink. I. will. get. this. twink.
Fantasy AU, Freminet is a knight, Durin is the "evil" dragon / princess, possible ooc (sorgies), not proofread
A/N: This is my first time posting my writing onto Tumblr augh I'm sorry if it seems off somehow!! ><
(Also posted on Ao3!!)
The morning sun always seemed to glare directly into his eyes through the windows, no matter how many times he moved his bed around. This usually meant he awoke at the first moment of dawn. And waking up at the first sign of sunlight meant he was typically grumpy when he awoke and when bedtime was growing near. But he assumed that's how it always was for humans.
When Durin had been granted a more human body by a (frankly quite weird) alchemist all those years ago, he'd been outcasted by humanity before he even had a chance to learn how to be human himself. Their actions hurt his heart greatly, and now he spent his days scaring off adventurers and knights with shadow puppets. He was glad people believed in dragons talking through minds.
He doubted any humans remembered the original reason for him exclusion. They all seemed to be running with the narrative that a big bad evil dragon ruled over an old castle and that the dragon needed to be slain. Quite dumb, if you asked him. He wasn't big, bad, or evil. He was closer to being as vicious as a newborn kitten than being corrupted by evil.
Either way, back to the problem at hand. Durin groaned groggily, sitting up in bed and quietly cursing the sun for being so bright. He was enjoying his sleep, and the star in the sky just had to ruin it! He was half tempted to simply lay with his back to the windows and go back to sleep. In fact... no one could tell him no, right? So that's what he did. He turned onto his stomach, burying his face into his pillows and sighing as his eyelids grew heavy.
He awoke a few short hours later. What a... weird sleep that was. He had dreamed of a penguin coming to save him. From what and why, he didn't know. However, that was all in a dream. It didn't really matter. And... he missed prime breakfast hour.
Durin let out a small sigh, stretching out his limbs before yawning and sitting up. As he rubbed his eye, he turned to face the mirror in his room. Horns of dark purple blending into a mass of a lighter purple and eyes reminiscent of a sunset stared back. He smiled softly. He liked his appearance, it was the perfect blend of intimidating and soft.
Slowly getting up from his bed, his gaze fell outside of the window. The woods were peaceful as always, with birds singing and squirrels rustling the tree branches. There was also a gentle breeze, bringing the scent of rain in the distance. What a peaceful setting to wake up in. Although, he'd have to cover the windows if the rain decided to make its way over to him.
He tiptoed his way to the closet, humming softly as he picked out an outfit for today. There were a plethora of simple clothing, ranging from short sleeves to long sleeves and from pants to skirts. Most of the clothes were from curious passerby and knights who he had been forced to.... eternally put to rest. However, none of that mattered now. They had drawn their weapons first, anyway. He ended up settling on a white blouse and a lilac skirt that reached halfway below his knees.
Durin felt the need to do a little twirl infront of his mirror once he was dressed. The skirt was flowy enough to create a nice wave of motion, and it pleased his brain in a certain way that only some other things could do. He had once read the word "seratonin" somewhere before, a chemical that makes you happy. Maybe that's what was going on.
His movements stopped after about two spins. He let out a soft giggle, before a scuffling sound much larger than what the mice made came from the stairs. He snapped his attention to it, turning his head to the entryway of his room. Nothing out of the ordinary was immediately made apparent to him. But then he looked closer and noticed two things.
At the top of the stairs sat a newer model of knight helmet. And, just barely peeking out from the stairs was a tuft of blonde hair. He realised, to his surprise, that a human had actually made it up to his room. And here he thought the sights of past humans and the traps he had set would be enough. Now that he listened closer, he could hear the ragged breathing of the poor human. Were they scared? Of him? What made him so scary in person?
He slowly walked closer to the stairs, taking his time and giving the human a chance to run away. However, sooner than later, he made it to the very start of the stairs. There, sitting on a step only a few steps from the top, sat a knight with very light blonde hair and freckles. His eyes were squeezed shut, so Durin couldn't see what color they were. Well... was this knight a boy or a girl? The knight looked like a blend of both. Durin liked that.
Quietly, he sat down next to the knight, staring at them intensely. The knight was very intriguing to the dragon. Just what had brought them here, and how have they survived all the way up here?
Eventually, the silence became too much for him.
"I'm not gonna eat you, y'know. You can look at me." Durin hummed out, placing his head of his knees to try and get a better look at the knight's eyes. After a moment, the knight opened their eyes slightly, revealing a beautiful shade of blue. The dragon gave them a small smile, not showing his teeth. He had heard that was rude.
"H-how do I know you aren't lying..?" The knight spoke, voice barely audible. Durin's tail gave a small wag upon hearing the knight's voice. It was so pretty...
"Well, I haven't done so yet, have I?" A small giggle came from him. "Although, getting a closer look at you, I don't think I'd be able to either way." The knight didn't seem convinced.
"What about the other people in the main hall..?"
"Wh- Oh- um... those were in self defense. They drew their weapons first, I promise!" Durin shook his head, closing his eyes so his hair didn't poke them.
"Right... and the traps..?"
"They won't actually do much damage..."
"Arrows won't do a lot of damage..? They are perfectly at eye level."
"... Are they..?"
"Yes."
"Oh... oops..." the dragon looked down the stairs at that. He hadn't realized they could poke someone's eyes. Though, to be fair, humans seemed to have gotten taller over the years, and the arrows were above his own head by at least a few inches. He had nothing to worry about.
"Anyway, um... I..." the knight mumbled out, taking a breath before turning fully towards Durin. The dragon blinked, before finding himself halfway under the knight, their hands gently holding him down by the shoulders. They were still sitting next to him however. He could easily turn the tables... but he decided to indulge them.
"I am Freminet, a knight from Fontaine. I come demanding the princess trapped in this castle to be freed." Freminet spoke, voice firm. Um...
"... are you trying to be intimidating..?" Durin whispered out, watching Freminet's eye twitch slightly. Oh, he had a role to play here. Alright then.
"Oh, um... ahem... Apologies, dear knight, for you're sorely mistaken. There is no princess trapped in this castle. It is only I, a harmless and solitude dragon."
Freminet slumped slightly, eyes widening.
"What? What do you mean there's no princess here..?"
"... There's no princess here."
"But reports say there's a princess with lilac hair and eyes reflecting the sunset."
Durin froze for a moment. Lilac hair... eyes having a sunset in them... wait a moment.
"Are you sure they weren't just talking about me?" He asked, tilting his head. Freminet looked him up and down, before getting off him with a groan.
"Probably... I just... ugh..."
"Is... something wrong?"
"Well, I... I was hoping to find this princess... and bring her home... because otherwise I'd be... um... exiled..."
"Exiled..? Why would you be exiled..?"
"The Fontainian Royal Family really don't want me to be a knight. But despite everything, I've passed every exam. So they sent me on this quest."
"Hm..." Durin thought for a moment. If Freminet was sent on a quest to find him, while under the guise that he was a princess trapped in a tower, and Fontaine was known for its trials against people, chances are that Freminet was being held on trial at this moment. And that, if he decided to follow the knight back to Fontaine, he himself would be held on trial for crimes he never committed... on purpose at least.
"What if you just stay here with me then?" The dragon offered before he could fully think this through. "I promise not to eat you, and there's a stream with tasty fish not far from here." Freminet looked at him in shock.
"Wh- j- just what made you come to that conclusion!?"
"Well, you can't get exiled if you never return from your quest, right?"
"But then everyone would think I died..."
"Mm... How bad of a thing is that for you?"
"..." Freminet stayed silent as the knight thought about it. "Not... too bad, actually."
"Mm, perfect. That settles it."
Durin stood up, climbing the few stairs back into his room before stretching, unfolding his wings to let them air out a bit before folding them close to his body again and turning to the knight. "Welcome, dearsst knight Freminet, to your new home. I, Durin, humbly accept you with open arms."
So I have a genshin OC, and the last time i drew him was um... for his original bodysheet-
Back then he didn't have a set species(?), but now I've decided on it!
Here's his original bodysheet that I made almost a year ago..?
And here's his new bodysheet! with some info about him below the cut
Name: Aspen
Age: over 1000
Rarity: four star
Species: forgotten species of dragon
Nation: Mondstadt (specifically Dragonspine)
Extra:
Aspen is a dragon from a long forgotten species in a long forgotten era, who only recently awoke from his slumber in a small cave in Dragonspine. While he fell into his slumber as a full-on dragon, he awoke as this weird semi-human being.
He was first found by Albedo while he was skinning a snowboar for its pelt to wear. And although Albedo did help him design his outfit, Aspen despises the man due to the aura he gives off. Aspen thinks he seems secretly evil.
He met Durin and Sucrose purely due to Albedo literally dragging him to their camp. He didn't exactly trust them at first, since they were with Albedo, he eventually grew to tolerate them. He sees Durin as that one little cousin, and Sucrose as an aquaintence.
