Shera commission! Prompt was catra struggling to write a letter to her younger self
Thanks to the ever patient commissioner for letting me get a bit off track with it!
i feel so dumb for not picking up that glimmer is poc too like i’m asian how did i of all people miss the asian rep? you’re telling me i’ve been watching a show for 5 seasons without knowing i was being represented??? what
can we just appreciate how monumental and powerful the kiss was in-universe too. it wasn’t just a kiss at the end of the show, something that (while meaningful!!! not trying to shade other cartoons here) only really affect the kissers, not any of the other characters. but that kiss saved the entire universe!!! every single person in etheria and beyond were affected by that kiss
can we all agree that every single time catra has said to adora "you're such an idiot" she's really saying "I am madly in love with you, I've always been and every time you act like the dumbass I love so much I can't help but to fall in love with you even more, idiot"

So Steven Universe could jog
BUT SHE RA FUCKING SPRINTED
I loved season 5 so much, but especially the moment between Catra and Adora in which Catra asks Adora what she really wants. Because Adora has been taught during almost her whole life that the only way she will be loved, is if she is useful to other people, if she has some destiny she can chase and fulfill. In the Horde it was becoming force captain and whatever followed after that, then it became saving the world as She-Ra. And we can actually see Adora hesitating, struggling to answer, and ultimately dodging the question by saying something along the lines of having no choice and having to save the world. Catra’s perspective is a lot different from Adora’s in this very specific case: Adora will always choose to do what is right, what is needed to save the world, because 1). she sees it as her responsibility, 2). abuse and 3). because that is her way of loving people. The world is being destroyed and she needs to save it in order to save the people she loves. Catra however has severe abandonment issues and associates love with always choosing a person above anything else, be it yourself or the world. That is why she leaves in this scene, because she recognizes Adora’s answer as a rejection, as Adora not loving her enough to (finally) choose her. That even if Adora is relieved of her burdens, Catra won’t be her first priority. Like she states herself, later on: “Adora doesn’t want me. Not the way I want her.” In the final episode of the season Adora gets caught in Horde Prime’s virus, and we get the scene in which Catra is trying to get her back. Note: Adora thinks all hope is lost, like she says herself: “It’s too late.” But still, she reaches out for Catra. And in this scene specifically, in my opinion, they finally reach a point of understanding, middle ground. Catra knows Adora will never allow the world to be destroyed even if all she can do is try, but now she also knows Adora will still try to reach her, like she went back to get her out of Horde Prime’s (filthy bastard) hands, like she went back when she heard Catra screaming even though she and Shadow Weaver hadn’t even gotten to the Heart yet. And Adora finally knows that Catra has always loved her, has always wanted to be at her side. And that’s so crucial to Adora, because Catra has known her forever, way before she became She-Ra, before she had to take the whole world upon her shoulders. And Catra doesn’t care about all that, she just wants and loves Adora for who she is. They have always danced to the same song but never the same rhythm, reaching out their hands but never at the same time. But now? Now they have linked their fingers and you know what, I don’t think they will ever let go.
YOUR HONOR THEY’RE CANON
has anyone talked about how catra didn’t tell adora she loved her when she saved glimmer and legitimately thought she was going to die!!! catra finally told adora when adora was dying i’m going to cry she loves her so much
WE WON WE WON GAYS ALWAYS WIN
I wish radical feminists were like surfers who believed in gender equality rather than misogynist pieces of shit coopting the label of feminism to reinforce traditional gender roles and set feminism back 100 years
my heart has burst (and is still bursting) open and wide thank you noelle stevenson

SHE RA S4 SPOILERS
god the look on glimmer’s face when horde prime explained how he found etheria and she realized just how much she fucked up
i know her entire arc this season is supposed to parallel catra’s, but the key difference in catra’s s3 fuck up and glimmer’s s4 fuck up is that this one violates the core of glimmer’s identity. catra almost destroyed the planet—but that’s essentially what catra’s wanted to do ever since adora joined the rebellion. (let’s face it, ruining the planet or ruling it means the same thing to her as long as it allows her to get back at every single person who hurt her)
but glimmer’s sole mission since she was born was to protect bright moon, protect her planet from the horde. she’s one of the good guys. that’s why she activated the heart of etheria: she knew it was the only thing strong enough to defeat the encroaching horde.
but instead, not only does she realize she was wrong about being able to control that power, she finds out that if she hadn’t done what she did, horde prime wouldn’t have discovered etheria at all. this isn’t a mistake she can walk back from; she’s fundamentally changed her planet, and for the worst. at this point, she doesn’t even know that adora had to break the sword to stop the weapon. (and audience-wise, we don’t know yet exactly how this has affected the princesses’ powers—we saw glimmer’s flicker on horde prime’s ship, but that’s it)
y’all i’m scared/excited to see how season 5 deals with the aftermath. ofc the best friend squad isn’t going to hold this against glimmer, but it’ll be extremely hard for her to forgive herself. and she’s stuck with catra, who i love very much but who also doesn’t know how to deal with feelings in a healthy way

Any time you have to go ‘I bet they’d never treat the ki—Jews like this!’ you can honestly just assume that the Jews have been treated exactly like that
Of course, you could also look at large swaths of Europe and find areas that were pogroms and now are tourist attractions too but you know the people saying this dumb shit don’t even know what the word pogrom means so 🤷♀️
Yesterday on Oct 29 2019, activists who entered the Toronto Public Library, during library hours, were barred inside the building by Toronto Police who offered to provide protection for people wishing to attend Meghan Murphy’s transphobic and transmisogynistic event series. Among those held inside by police was newly awarded Anishinaabe and Metis poet Gwen Benaway, who just received the Governor General’s Literary Award only one night prior.
