Welcome to the Stanvoeux Medical Malpractice Event 2026.

This is a low key 3 day event (May 9th - 11th) for posting works featuring Charles Des Voeux and Stephen Stanley.

RULES/GUIDELINES:

Works don't have to be rated E - but participants must be over 18.

Prompts are for inspiration - write what inspires you. There are two for each day.

We all hate AI on this site but - no generative AI work allowed.

Works don't have to be specifically medical malpractice in the literal sense- that's the name of the event because it sounded fun.

Canon divergences such as Modern, Post-Rescue, Alternate Universe, Girlnavy etc are welcome - we want all the StanVoeux.

It's not just for fic - art, video edits, etc are also welcome.

AO3 collection is here - we'll also do a masterlist at the end.

We'll reblog your posts - tag us @stanvoeuxmedicalmalpractice and use the tag #stanvoeuxmedicalmalpractice so we can find your posts.

We're hoping this gives you all plenty of notice to create something for the event. For the next few weeks, we'll be pretty quiet as there are currently other events running and coming up before ours. Feel free to send an ask or message if you have questions.

It sickens Stanley that he is so familiar, but at the same time he looks like a weak, wet thing. Like he was just born. Pitiable. Should he be kinder? Slick with sweat and two days in to illness, he is less a first mate and more a child. More Charles than Des Voeux. His family wouldn't claim him as an officer now. The man starts to shake. He reaches a hand out and catches Stanley's shirt.

Light bursts in Stanley's vision. A spark, where fingers touched. He is so tired. There is nothing to do but to let it happen. He looks one last time at the candle. Its flame is flying away like a distant gull. One splits apart like petals peeled from a flower, and it is two, and then three, and then a dozen. The birds fly between them, around them, sometimes shrinking as if they are at a distance, as if that is possible in a tiny cabin where Stanley can reach out his arms and touch both opposite walls. Their brightness hurts his eyes. Where their wings touch wood or fabric, little flames appear.

“You’ve been entrusted with the supervision of Project CB-782, pertaining to new telescopic sights for the DX .300 Long Range. Is that correct?”

“Yes, sir.”

“And you were supposed to refer to either Mr Le Vesconte or Mr Gore, keeping them up to date with production reports that included costs, volume, and downtime. They were supposed to be made aware of any issues you’d encounter, no matter how small or allegedly irrelevant. Is that correct, too?”

“Yes, sir.” Fidget, dry swallow. “It is. Correct.”

Stanley rat-tat-tats the folder with his fingertip. “And where are the reports, Mr Des Voeux?”

Des Voeux is certainly the worst [in terms of spelling, and all of that.]

I've used a few different versions depending on the story/setting and context.

Go with whatever option feels right for you-they are your dolls to do with as you please. 💉

Comedy x kinky smut is my way to approach stanvoeux. Below is the second part of long-forgotten Big Pharma AU that I've resurrected for @stanvoeuxmedicalmalpractice. Let's give it up for stanvoeux and background fitzconte in this one!

"Ah, it's going to be fine, Charlie!" Collins claps a meaty hand on Charles' back, sending coffee straight up his nose. "You were so stressed about the meeting last time and Dr Stanley still chose you to manage the project." Charlie doesn't know how to explain to kind-hearted Collins that there is absolutely no reason Dr Stanley chose him for his skills, his charm, or his qualifications. Dr Stanley took one look at him and knew he was a fraud — and picked him anyway. Charlie might say he was picked for his looks, but he knows that isn't it either. He simply knows it. His boss knows it. And yet everyone behaves as though they don't. "That was only an introductory meeting." Charlie finally gets the coffee down his throat rather than his sinuses. "Now I actually have to do the work." "Hey," Collins smiles, spooning a third helping of sugar into his Americano. "Don't sweat it. You'll manage it brilliantly" Charlie knows he won't. "Don't tell me how to sweat," he grumbles.
