This is normally when we talk about what was trending this week. Video games, pop music, dumb jokes. Lots of that stuff happened this week. This just isn’t the week for it.

Philando Castile was fatally shot in his car by a police officer who stopped him for a broken taillight.

Alton Sterling was fatally shot in front of a convenience store by a police officer who had him pinned to the ground.

A civilian and twelve police officers were shot, five of them fatally, by sniper fire in Dallas during protests related to these shootings.

What can we do? Listen to the voices of those affected. Resist the temptation to be passive. Care and focus that care.
