about a week ago, the brightest night festival finally ended after three weeks of celebrations
i, and cobra, do plan on eventually talking about our experiences in our respective tribes. ive just been busy with 5 new dragonets, and cobra has gotten itself dragged into some work.
one of the slightly lesser known treats within the nightwing kingdom are these little round desserts, around the size of a persimmon, and are traditionally made during the transition between seasons.
the outer layer is brittle and pastel coloured, adorned with sugar stars. this usually just tastes like a little like sugar, but there are some who add additional flavours
the middle layer is type of cake. this can be a number of flavours one would find those in
the centre is typically a type of jam. though other things have been used instead
the islands arent too remarkable. if you've seen one you've seen them all.
green - rainwing queendom
a rainforest.
orange - mudwing queendom
a wetland.
red - skywing queendom
very mountainous with a few scattered forests.
yellow - sandwing queendom
a desert. theres mountains near the "head" of the continent.
those rivers only fill during the rainy season.
purple - nightwing queendom
rather mountainous and forested.
teal - icewing queendom
a tundra that grows forested closer to the nightwing border. theres also plenty of icecaps and glaciers in the surrounding sea, which is why the blue extends into the ocean.
the other continent (closer to a large island) has been highly sought after. few come back unscathed, if at all.

a bit off about the rivers in the icewing territory but otherwise pretty good!
the main city of the skywings is located around the middle of the 'wing' right around that little looping bit of the river.
they do have a few floating islands (due to an animus incident many years ago), along with their famous colosseum.
down closer to the mudwing border are a ton of mines, which are operated by both skywings and mudwings.
the main city of the mudwings is right along that large river, closer to the skywing border.
theres many of large settlements dotted around that each have their own specialty.
the main city of the sandwings is located near the 'head', on top of those rivers.
there's a larger settlement on that 'claw' by the nightwing border that many dragons visit.
there's another, smaller settlement near the river by the mudwing and skywing border thats a lot like the scorpion den.
the seawings surface palace is near the centre of the curl.
the location of their underwater city of unknown.
the rainwing city is on the largest piece of land though the exact location is still a mystery to me.
they hold many festivals somewhere around the seawing and mudwing border (the exact place changes around depending on the occasion).
the icewing city is located near the very top of the 'wing'.
little is known about that place as its too cold for most dragons to tolerate. that and they dont like to share.
the nightwing city is on the lower piece of land, with the three small islands in view
that large island off near the 'talon' within the nightwing territory was only recently acquired near the end of the war. it was only used as an outpost so no one really knows what to do with that place nowadays.
the three little islands are all named after one of the moons; perception, imperial, and oracle (left to right).
the 'head' was one of the focus points during the war. Queen Defiance, Queen Baobab, and Queen Skylark had all sought to take it for themselves.
eventually Queen Baobab came to an agreement with Queen Moriah (who at the time was still Princess), and backed out.
Queen Skylark and Queen Defiance came to a stalemate right before Moriah issued her challenge for the throne.
what happens with that place is still a tense topic, but Queen Moriah wishes for it to become something like a community space for many dragons from across the tribes to live in if they so choose.
she has high hopes, ill give her that.
the continent is quite a ways off. little is known of it as of yet.
its speculated that the true target of Queen Defiance was that continent, but no one knows for sure yet. and if that was the case, why would she waste time and resources for the 'head' if it was some sort of diversion?
