humans are one of the few ENDOTHERMIC races among the various beings scattered among stars . this made cale’s existense all the more seemingly lonesome- stuck on a salvage station , waiting out the days until someone finally decided to finish him off , forgetting the warmth attached touching someone else’s skin . humans are RARE , the scum of the galaxies , a planetless race doomed to drift AIMLESSLY- but when he see the stranger , a feeling forgotten stirs in him . she looks human , but she gives off more than just that forgotten warmth- she seems to almost glow with a radiation cale can’t QUITE describe . within an instant , cale leaves his five minute lunch break to walk over to her , hoping to try & find out more .
‘ ‘scuse me miss , but you seem a little OUT OF PLACE here . anything i can help you with ? ‘
GROUNDED. starship stolen and no escape in sight -- she’s suffocating here. there’s little comfort in knowing she won’t be discovered, that a salvage station is of no consequence to those who hunt her. paranoia still grips aurora as she watches this strange world go by. she sticks to the shadows, careful to avoid eye contact. not that it’s enough to avoid detection. her luck’s fucked these days, it seems. but he’s HUMAN ( harmless ) and she’s curious. not curious enough to be particularly friendly, but curious enough to chat. sapphire eyes rake across his figure as a hand settles on the gun strapped to her hip.
❛ i don’t require assistance. ❜ she doubts the instincts of a man with such floppy hair. ❛ i only need... only need to find some way off this junkyard. should be simple enough. ❜ her words lack conviction, stubborn as she may be. unless she can find her ship and steal it back... she’s plain STUCK.
❛ how do you stand it here? how do you not miss the freedom of flying amongst the stars? ❜
