they weren't kidding when they said fiona apple is a genius. periphery is one of the most interesting songs ive ever heard. i could be physically braindead and it would still make me stop and think
Rowland S. Howard & Lydia Lunch, from the Some Velvet Morning photoshoot, 1982
Photographed by Christina Birrer. The images served as the included postcard with the "Some Velvet Morning" 12-inch single on 4AD Records and captured the duo's dark, kindred spirit, reflecting the album's psychedelic and fever-dream qualities.
you cannot make a post about how men put women in certain boxes without someone going "but what if i love the box? what if i've decided that it's comfortable in the box? are you gonna tell me i'm not ALLOWED to like the box? not very feminist of you to police a woman's decisions... maybe you'd be less ugly and miserable if you stopped talking about the box LMFAO #Girlboss #MyBox<3"
this reminded me of that conversation that happened on twitter not too long ago about women and shaving.
there may not be anything inherently wrong about shaving as a woman but you must also acknowledge just why you're doing so in the first place. if you hypothetically lived in a world without any men and never had any beauty standards thrust upon you from a young age - would you still subscribe to them?
also #theory i think the reason why a lot of these women who get defensive about shaving and use the excuse of "well it's uncomfortable/it's a sensory issue" is because they've been shaving incorrectly from a young age. they then got understandably uncomfortable with the regrowth process and have since just been shaving over and over to avoid it. because you'll NEVER hear a man who shaves often say he does so because it's a sensory issue (bar the face, which most women don't worry about). and IF the regrowth process is so uncomfortable, even when you shave correctly, does that not further establish the fact that we just... shouldn't really be doing all that?
your choices don't exist in a vacuum, my dear.

i have to make 1 billion playlists
i can't stop making hundreds of hyperspecific playlists or what i like to call "different flavours" of playlists. songs to listen to for when i'm roaming the city, songs for when the city is soo cold brr, ok but a playlist for when it's soo cold but i'm lowkey feeling it, ok not anymore fuck it sad city playlist, let's get silly! and it's still a melancholic-wistful-windy day, but fun! playlist. for when you're in the city. of course
