first off, thank you all so much for the support PAUSE & EFFECT has received!! it means a lot to us, especially as a group that really only assembled ~2 weeks before the game was created.
you may have noticed that the demo announcement post mentioned a future updated demo. PAUSE & EFFECT was created for My First Game Jam, a 2 week event, so a lot of content ended up being cut because of the time shortage. thus, we plan on releasing a demo update to give players a more comprehensive idea of what the finished game will be like.
we have a pretty clear idea of what will be going into the demo update, and figured that we’d share them here so you know what to expect from us in the future!
PAUSE & EFFECT’s UPDATED DEMO is planned to include:
3 new areas, at least 2 of which will be battle zones!
at least 5 new enemy designs.
updated tiles, and additional NPCs with each new area.
a set of talksprites for one of the prominent NPCs introduced in the early demo.
completed flavor text for the bakery, as well as a lot more to be introduced with the new areas.
and finally, the reveal of the previously non-introduced, main ‘mystery’ element in PAUSE & EFFECT!
