A Special Edition of Unwrapped Wednesday

This past weekend has blessed us with new songs from some of my favorite female artists. St. Vincent, Grimes, and M.I.A. have given us a great start to the beautiful spring weather. 

St. Vincent premiered her second post-St. Vincent song on the latest episode of Girls. Her song closes the episode as she joins the Ranks of Jack Antonoff (of Bleachers fame) who has also written music specifically for the show. Grimes has given us a new video and song. Previously unreleased, this track was planned for her 2013 album, Visions. After excluding this track from the album, Claire Boucher decided to release the song and create a video in thanks for a successful tour and faithful fans. http://pitchfork.com/news/58251-st-vincent-shares-teenage-talk-written-for-hbos-girls/

M.I.A. has finally released her first post-Matangi song. The song is empowering and it appears the artist is continuing with a similar sound to her previous work.https://soundcloud.com/miauk/canseecando

Nirvana's MTV Unplugged session is easily one of the best MTV Unplugged sessions ever to air. Kurt (RIP) would have been 48 in a few weeks. It would have been cool to see what he would have creating now, probably some kind of experimental jazz. I'll spare everyone the long Nirvana speeches lol.
