She clears her throat, starting to sing the song.

"I guess I must be dumb, she had a pocket full of horses, trojans and some of them used~"

"...I don't quite understand why someone would keep used condoms in their pocket."

"Let's just say I have a pretty strong relationship with the idea of 'forbidden knowledge'. I love learning things I'm not supposed to know!" Futaba grins at the other person.

Estrella chuckles a bit at the phrasing of Futaba's statement.

"At the very least, you are far from the first person to express that to me. The others are usually either researchers or authors, if not a combination of both. Or aspiring criminals, but those people rarely open up about that kind of thing."

She reclines onto the blanket she brought with her.

"My name is Estrella, and yours?"

"I think... I think wanting to explore that exact boundary is part of the core of humanity." Futaba nods, leaning back. "I think there's always going to be something new to learn, I think there's always going to be a new question, I think there's always going to be something that's out there that just can't quite be probed by humanity's collective knowledge."

"Also, in a way, we've sort of proven that we can't ever 'understand' everything. Gödel's incompleteness theorems essentially combine to create the idea that in a purely logical sense, the universe can never be completely known. Truths we can't prove, falsehoods we can't disprove, and yet we can intuit them to be true or false." She takes a sip of her slushie.

"The core of humanity..." Estrella repeats, voice trailing off.

"You may be on to something. Although, I wasn't aware there were theorems about this sort of idea." She scratches the back of her head. "It's funny, it sounds as if math and science have figured out that there will be things unexplainable by math and science."

"You responded to my question fairly quickly. Have you thought extensively about this subject before?"

"Do you ever wonder what exists beyond what we know?"

Estrella is looking up at the night sky, seemingly spacing out as she asks this of the person sitting nearby.

"Do you think there are things that nobody can truly understand?"

A soft, barely notable smile forms on Estrella's face. At the very least, she's happy to have company.
