i’m still working on the remaining starters i owe, but i figure that since all the cool kids are doing it, i should push out a permanent starter call as well! liking this post gives me the ok to:
write quick starters for you (i’ll ask first!)
come to plot in your dms (watch me swooce right in)
tag you in memes/send them to you
skip the introduction thread/plot about longer-term relationships
you know the drill everyone’s done this stuff
i’ll also be stealing borrowing the numbering system from the other posts, so be sure to reply with a number you’re interested in!
friendly/ally - need a drinking buddy? gun rival? someone to drink your pepsi and call you a bitch? spike’s your guy, even if he’s a little rough around the edges. chilled to the point of apathy and insightful for about five seconds at a time, he can add a mellow mood to near enough anyone, provided they don’t piss him off before that happens.
familial - granted, he says that he hates “kids, animals, and women with attitudes,” but i sure as hell don’t, so take that, canon. it’ll take some time, but if you can worm your way past his gruff defenses, spike will be the best bad-influence-uncle you could ever have. he still won’t let you smoke, though. that’s his thing.
romantic (20+ only!) - spike seems smooth, but he’s an absolute idiot when it comes to romance. julia was probably the one who asked him out, let’s be real. speaking of her, though, it’ll be a little while before he moves on, considering how close his canon point is to The Thing That Happens, so he’ll need a bit of guidance until then. it’s on the cards, but not without some work put in. then again, which relationship doesn’t need some effort?
bounty- as much as i’d love for him to be as fluffy as his hair is, spike’s a Cowboy On The Bebop for a reason. even without his gun, he’s a force to be reckoned with thanks to training his body with martial arts (when he remembers to). at a high enough price and a good reason, he’ll go after anyone… assuming he finds the hit interesting, of course. it’ll take some convincing for him to go if not.
sparring - much like the above, he could do with someone to keep himself sharp against. he has his own natural rhythm to fight to and an insane amount of luck with how things fall just right for him to look as cool as possible as he goes, but a fight with him will always be interesting for the ways he exploits the weak points he sees the moment he recognises them.
enemy - it takes a lot to become spike’s enemy, especially considering his antihero nature and general lack of moral compass - only vicious ever managed to achieve this role fully, and that took several episode’s worth of backstory to fully explain. to those that get on his bad side, though, it’s quite hard to get back out unless he sees a reason to forgive, something to sympathise with.
idk - i probably forgot something so if you’ve got another idea that sounds fun just come chat to me anyway i’m down for it
