[Event] A Meeting on the Helicarrier

“Agent Romanoff.” Fury said, nodding his head at one of SHIELD’s top operatives. He didn’t think once that she would be late, Romanoff being one of his more agents that tends to be on time. “Dr. Banner.” Fury greeted. “Its good to have you here Dr. Banner, I trust that Agent Romanoff has been polite when she extended our request?” He asked, though his attention was partially diverted when Stark entered the room.

“His name is Dr. Banner, Stark. At least be polite for once, it wouldn’t kill you to do so.” He quipped.

She nodded back to Fury and gave Banner a small smile when he came in which quickly shifted to a smirk when Tony arrived. Natasha took a seat and looked around, “Will the others be joining us?” She asked, looking a little confused.

Bruce didn’t react, only nodded and looked Tony head on, “And you’re Tony Stark, supposed eccentric billionaire.” His attention was then grabbed by Director Fury, so when he spoke about Natasha, he couldn’t help the slight smile, amusement evident in his eyes, “Sure did. Extended the olive branch the best way possible.”

"I think your statement would have worked without the 'supposed,'" Tony shrugged at Dr. Banner as he extended his hand. "It's a pleasure. Hopefully our superiors will talk fast --" He eyed Fury briefly before returning his attention to the doctor. "-- and leave us enough time to discuss your scientific exploits. I've read every single word you ever published, actually." He focused on Fury again. "If no one else is coming, you have my permission to stark talking," he said.

Pepper chuckled, “well I mean, he could have a temper, but for the most part, I was the one yelling…” Her soft smile turned into a frown, “I loved him though, god I loved him…it’s just even as perfect as two people can be for each other,  we just didn’t work.”

Tony smiled at Pepper, surprised by the effort it took him to fake it. He was practically jealous. “Well, you guys could always work out again. If it’s meant to be, I guess.” It just seemed like the best thing to say under the circumstances.

“He’s better off,” Pepper said, “he needs someone not so paranoid and jealous.” Taking a sip of her vodka she looked at Tony, “Thanks for this Boss…”

"Don't say that," Tony answered automatically. "I'm sure he loved you just as much as you loved him. And you're welcome. Always here for your booze needs," he said, clinking his glass against Pepper with a smile that was slightly bitter.

[Event] A Meeting on the Helicarrier

Fury let out a small sigh as he looked over the files on the table, just waiting for the members of the Avengers Initiative to arrive. Fortunately Romanoff managed to bring in Dr. Banner to help them locate the Tesseract, which hopefully might also include on locating on Dr. Selvig and Agent Barton. 

He hoped for this meeting to go well enough, considering that they’re including the King of Atlantis who was willing to offer his help and Fury wasn’t going to say no to a King of an underwater kingdom.

”..I think I need a drink.” Fury muttered, pinching the bridge of his nose.

Natasha was itching to get things on the move. She’d been checking in on any sightings of Clint since returning to the helicarrier, Jeanne must’ve been sick of her by now constantly checking back for information that just wasn’t coming through. Clint was just completely off the grid, she couldn’t believe it. Either way, she had at least managed to bring back Banner without any trouble, she had decided that he was a good man even with his predicament and was glad that he could help them.

She imagined that if Fury had hair he’d be tearing it out by now, when she walked out onto the bridge the tension could be cut with a knife even with all the chatter and bustle amongst the workers. She strode over, suited up and feeling far more comfortable with the promise of getting things moving, “Director.”

After having been brought on the helicarrier (which hi, hello, bad idea or worst idea?) Bruce had taken to exploring the space, despite how massive it was. He took the time to learn where at least some things were in the hopes that if something happened, he had some idea on where to go. He glanced at his watch, noting the time and went off to the meeting room where he was to meet the rest of this…team. 

Stepping inside, he made sure to stay near the back, hovering along the edge essentially. “Agent Romanoff,” he said, acknowledging her presence before looking to who he assumed Fury to be, “Director Fury.”

Even Tony had to acknowledge the importance of this meeting, despite the fact that he usually hated those. He had flown in to the hellicarrier in his armor, and after stripping from it and leaving it on the crate that had been set up for that end, he headed straight to the conference room, without even bothering to glance at his watch, knowing exactly what time it was. There had always been a surprising amount of method to Tony's chaos, and contrary to popular belief, if he was fashionably late for something (like it was the case this time), it was always deliberate.

"Hopefully this party didn't get started before I arrived," Tony commented as he walked in, acknowledging Natasha and Fury's presence with a nod for each. "Fury, Romanoff. And..." Tony gave the third person a quick once over before he raised his eyebrows in recognition. "Gamma radiation guy, right?" Robert Bruce Banner. Tony actually knew the name, but he preferred not to dispense introductions.

Tony took Pepper’s glass and was silent as he refilled it. “Well…” He said hesitatingly as he returned her drink. “I was waiting for you to get more inebriated before I asked the questions. Confessions are easier when you’re drunk. But hey, if you’re ready to tell me now, I’m all ears,” he sat down next to her again, eying her expectantly.

“I’ll get into more details later I guess,” Pepper took a drink of the vodka. “See, the problem with Happy? He’s too nice…at first, we didn’t fight about…well anything. All he wanted was to see me Happy. But I was never happy…and we had ran into some financial problems which I mean all couples do.  But I blamed him on having an affair, when all his crime was he went and drank…”

Tony cast his glance down to his glass, focusing on the movement of the rattling ice as he turned the glass on his hands. "Don't you realize how weird it is for someone to complain that their husband is too nice? I mean, I thought working under me would actually teach you to appreciate niceness," he said with a half-hearted chuckle. "I'm sorry about that, though."

“Oh, come on, Potts,” Tony grinned, elbowing Pepper again before finishing his glass. “You know, it’s not wrong to entertain sexual fantasies about your boss. Everybody does it. It’s… almost as common as the boss fantasizing about his P.A.” He smirked, tapping Pepper’s knee before standing up to get a refill. As he did so, he reminded himself that Pepper had just gotten divorced from someone who was growing to be a good friend of his, so he should probably start toning down the inappropriateness.

Tony headed to the liquor cabinet in the corner of the room and prepared drinks for himself and Pepper. He offered her her glass before sitting down next to her, supporting his feet on top of the center table, legs crossed at his ankles. “So, what do you want to talk about?” Tony tried her, taking a sip from his scotch. “I mean, I could introduce a subject, but it would probably be something overtly sexual, since I was expecting this evening to be much more… lewd. But I don’t want to offend you, Potts,” he said, elbowing her playfully.
