“No thank you. I would prefer to get right down to business, Mister Stark.” She clipped the ‘k’ of his name quite sharply, rolling the rest of it along her tongue. Selina played many games, and often at the same time. Small hints of each one surfaced at different moments, like colours reflecting off the facets of a diamond. How her prey - um. Conversational partner responded helped her decide which mask to show them.
Seductive and suave? Or assertive?
Slipping into the latter, Selina lowered her lashes and brought forth a veil of barely-restrained-irritation-hidden-behind-a-smile. “I apologise for the deliberate vagueness of my meeting with you. As far as your books are concerned it’s a discussion about an investment. So if anyone asks.” Her fingers flicked in a ‘do what you will’ gesture. “But what I want to talk about is the fact that within the next few days there will be a theft at one of your facilities, of something you’ve called ‘XR8-385′. Which I assume is a code designation.”
“Right, sure.” Tony nods, leaning back in his seat to get a little more comfortable as he watches her. It would obviously be a lot easier if he knew what this was about, but honestly he doesn’t feel like he’s going to be waiting long. She seems the sort to get right down to the point, no beating around the bush-- and he can appreciate that. He’s a busy man with a lot to do, after all.
“It’s no problem at all,” He answers, tilting his head, before he nods in response to her gesture. He can keep a secret if he needs to keep a secret. Probably not from Pepper, if it’s business related, because she needs to know what’s going on at all times.
Her next sentence, however, has him leaning forward in his chair to set his elbows on his desk, chin resting atop his knuckles. Mm. That doesn’t sound good. “Yeah, it is,” He answers a little vaguely, his gaze narrowing very briefly as he looks at her in a completely new light. Who the hell is this woman? “You mind me asking how you know about all this?”
