This scene seems so important for their relationship. I don’t understand why it was cut.

Tony is completely blind to the position he has put Rhodey in.

Tony and Rhodey have a history of vacationing together.

Canceling plans on Tony (even if they exist only in his head) is THE END OF THE WORLD AND MEANS YOU DON’T LIKE HIM ANYMORE. Here, he was legit onto something—again, the position he has put Rhodey into—but probably every single time something comes up and Rhodey has to go, Tony pulls this shit.

Pepper is not a third member of the BFFhood, but an observer making reaction faces.

I also like the part after this where Tony does not understand what just happened and wants to call his therapist so that it can be explained to him. Because this idea of Tony having a therapist is in and of itself really important.
