Okay. I’ve redone their character sheets AGAIN. Some of it were detail changes, some of it was design changes or fixing awkward hands, for Felix it was literally a whole NEW character design. I’ve just been working more on character lore and wanted to change a few things but wanted that reflected in my character sheets. That and I wanted to give drawing Felix one more shot. I’m a lot more happy with this design than the previous two. Am I fully happy with it? No. But Y’know what, I’ll take it. I’m still working on the “Gravity Falls”-esque art style, but I think I’m finally somewhat happy with this.

(Also, peep the little Bill notes and his nicknames for them. You can tell which one of them he hates the most 🤣)

okay i have an important question..... how do u feel abt the concept of stan having a much scruffier beard and longer hair done up in a ponytail?? i've seen a few people draw him that way (esp his sea stan self) and i think it's the cutest shit and i thought i'd ask u since u love stan too

Can’t believe it’s been 10 YEARS, since the finale aired. Seems like just yesterday I sat down to watch it as it aired. I kinda wanted to do something more grand for the anniversary but at least I made something for it. More of my thoughts and being super sappy under the cut:

I’ve talked about this from time-to-time but to give backstory on how I got to this point, Gravity Falls seemed to come into my life when I needed it most. I was at a point in my life where I felt lost and stuck. Life for me felt pointless at one point and I had nothing to my name. Hell, even art, although I didn’t get serious with it until it felt a bit too late at that point, didn’t hold weight. Art felt like the only thing I was somewhat good at and it was during 2015 that I lost spark with it and felt like a failure and not even worth saving. It wasn’t until that same year near the very end of it, is when Gravity Falls came down and blessed me with a second chance. It’s a blur on how exactly I got more serious with it, but it’s probably when I started drawing these characters in my notebook while in class. And at that point, I actually liked living again. Now that’s not to say I haven’t struggled in between the 10 years I’ve been drawing for this fandom. I’ve been in states of: “what’s the point?” and thinking maybe life was pointless after all. But even still, Gravity Falls and its characters always pulled me back out of that despair and reminded and pushed me to keep going.

I know there will come a point where my love for this show will die down significantly but truthfully right now, I owe these characters too much to quit on them. This show is the reason I found out I was aroace after feeling broken for so long and making me the person I am. I’ll always be bitter that I never got into it when the show first aired but I’m grateful when I did regardless of the time. I still struggle with self-worth because truthfully, I’m not really good at anything lol. But I hope for the 10 years I’ve been drawing for this fandom, I made an impact in someone’s life. I’ve still got a lot of spark in me to keep creating art for this show. So many comic ideas, one-off drawings, maybe some animations and animatics, and a lot more themes to dress the Pines in haha XD

Thank you guys for reading and sticking with me if you’ve been following me for however long. And I’m just throwing this out in the air but, thank you, Alex. I know you’ll probably never see this but thank you for sharing this wonderful world and your characters. Thank you for saving this artist’s life. Even if there’s a small chance you’ve seen some of my art, I hope I did these characters justice and I hope I made you proud.

So what's the lore for the Bloodlust AU?

It takes place in the Victorian era! Fiddleford fell through the portal, the twins never split up, Ford takes long trips for research, one resulting in being bitten by a werewolf. Stan gets in a fistfight with a vampire that results in him turning. This takes place when Dipper and Mabel are pretty young. Shermie is a Van Helsing type, has custody of the kids; he keeps the Grunkles at a distance and forbids them from seeing the twins; until Mabel falls very ill (around the same age they are in the show) and everybody convinces Stan to turn her (he’s reluctant, but he requires that Mabel stay with him so he can take care of her, of course Dipper follows her.) Dipper wants to be Shermie’s apprentice, until Mabel is turned, causing him to question being a slayer altogether, as he spends more time with Stan and Ford.

Ford is working on the portal to bring Fiddleford back from The Void. Bill is even more of a lovecraftian horror. He has managed to create a serum that allows him to maintain lucidity during his transformations because they were interrupting his work (and he was destructive, he supposes) but it’s sort of altered his human form, giving him a tail and the protruding teeth. He also has some dog behaviours but they don’t get in the way of his research so he hasn’t bothered correcting them.

Stan is just a sassy old vampire, forced to retire as a snake oil salesman, so now he just has a garden and reads trashy novels. And takes care of Mabel.

When Ford finally does get Fiddleford back, he is Void-touched. It manifests as moments of madness, seeing all timelines at once (think Griffin from MIB 3), and a creeping corruption in his left arm. The band he wears sort of contains it, but he’s not sure how long it works, or what happens when the corruption overtakes him.

This is the long and short of it 😅 but I haven’t written anything formally save for some little character moments and comics.
