This is my masterlist for my SAGAU!
Self Aware Genshin Alternate Universe or SAGAU
This term is commonly used to describe an alternate universe version of Genshin Impact, wherin the characters in the game realize that their existence is not authentic and is being controlled by another entity. This combined with the Cult AU has created the concept of the "creator" where the player of the game is either secretly or assumed to be the creator of the Genshin world and universe. Having a character is considered a type of blessing and the implications of that vary depending on the writer.
My SAGAU is inspired by the recent lore bombs that we've received about the history of Teyvat and the original rulers of the world.
This series will be using the most recent information available to players along with my own speculation, so expect spoilers up to the most recent version 4.6.
This series might delve into some themes such as anxiety and depression, so readers beware.
Other than that should will not be any major triggers, but I will do my best to keep this updated as time goes on. Feel free to shoot me an ask if I've missed any.

Hello all, Simulanka hit me like a dump truck.
On that note, am so excited by the fun new lore opportunities that have come up because of it.

âI really donât know what went wrong, Master Albedo,â Sucroseâs worried voice floated over his shoulder where he was examining her latest experiment.
Her experiments in bio-alchemy were not his preferred field of expertise, but he was happy to lend a hand now and again.Â
She was proficient in running her own studies and experiments, so it baffled him slightly to see her ask for his help in such a simple experiment.Â
Especially if it made her desperate enough to trek all the way up to Dragonspine in order to talk to him about it. She knew she could have easily just waited for his next trip down to the city, he did have to make those for supplies, and to visit Klee.
However, upon closer examination he understood her distress and confusion.Â
Her latest experiment, which focused on testing her latest fertilizer which was infused with dead ley line branches, had fallen apart in a rather fascinating way.
The plants were all dead, which is unfortunate but the fascinating part was that the ley lines branches were not.
A fact known to all who study ley lines is their volatility.Â
Researchers were often left to scramble around trying to document its movements in an uncontrolled environment.
WIth the ley line system being as big as it is, it was not possible for any team to span the entire system nor, with its interconnected system, was it possible to study only one section.
The closest equivalent would be to pick up dead pieces of the ley lines and study those pieces.
However, never in the history of alchemy, or even biology had a researcher ever been able to revive a completely dead piece of plant, never mind a ley line branch.Â
Not that ley lines are plants, they donât fit the definition of a traditional plant but its the closest equivalency that researchers have found when describing its characteristics.
Regardless, the pots that Sucrose had planted, all with various forms of dead ley line branches, have changed to varying degrees.
The most noticeable culprit was the one she had buried an entire branch in with the sweet flower.Â
The white branch had sprouted its own limbs and were wrapped around the original flower in a crude imitation of a hug.
Rather morbid considering that the sweet flower locked in its caress was now dead.
Not that any of the other sweet flowers had fared any better. They were all dead, with no discernible reason as to why.
âWhen did you notice this phenomenon, â Albedo asked, turning to look at Sucrose who was flipping through her notes.
âUm, a- about two weeks ago.â She explained, âAt first the experiment was running smoothly, the sweet flowers were growing normally â
She flipped open her notebook to show him her notes over the days.
âBut then all of a sudden they just started dying, and the ley line branches started growing.â
Albedo flipped through the notes, Sucrose was by no means a slouch when it came to her notes. She was always impeccably detailed and thorough when it came to recording data for her experiments.
There were no signs of the ley line branches adversely affecting the growth of the flowers for the first 3 weeks of their lifespan.Â
So what could have possibly happened to make them die like that?
Albedo looked over at the various pots scattered around his workspace, this was going to take him a while.
The Chief Alchemist of the Knights of Favonius looked over at his student, she was already starting to shiver slightly.
As a synthetic human, his body was more sturdy than that of average beings, especially as a synthetic human of Rhinedottirâs. . .Â
Well, he is very sturdy.Â
Sucrose is not, a fact made even more apparent by how sheâs moving her arms around in an effort to warm herself up.Â
He tends to keep the braiser burning low, to save on supplies. However the temperature comfortable for him seems a bit too low for his student.
âWhy donât you head back to the city Sucrose,â he suggested, putting her notebook down on his table. âThis is going to take a while to figure out, and it may be helpful for you to examine your lab once again to see if there are any variables you missed.â
Unlikely, but then again her presence here wouldnât help either of them in figuring this out.Â
Him from preferring to work alone, and her from the weather conditions.
Also, she failed to bring any meaningful amount of supplies with her, if she were to stay, theyâd both end up having to go back down the mountains in a couple of days regardless.
If she left, heâd have at least a week of peace and solitude to figure this out.
If he can figure this out.
Heâs honestly quite excited to get started, itâs been quite a while since a case had perplexed him like this.
He waved goodbye at Sucrose as she headed out.
She was much faster on her feet the way out, no doubt propelled by her desire to leave the cold, and the lack of various pots and notes to haul.
Albedo on the other hand, well.
 His clear blue eyes sparked with excitement as he dove headfirst in dissecting Sucroseâs experiment.
It was quite a fascinating phenomenon.
By all means, the ley line branches were completely dead when Sucrose started using them in her experiments.Â
Whilst that by no means meant they were devoid of power, Abyss mages have found great success in using it to augment their abilities, the fact that it can grow and presumably revive itself is groundbreaking.
Now that he really thinks about it, this is not the only odd thing that had been happening in recent times.
Some of the Knights of Favonius have reported odd patterns of Ley line disorders happening recently.
Not to mention his own research on the remains of Durin.
Hmm, what are the chances theyâre all connected.
Well, he wonât deny that the arrival of the golden haired traveler heralded many shifts in this world.
From their dealings with the Archons, to the blessings of the creator.
They are truly an exceptional person.
Interestings things never stopped happening when theyâre around.
Back to the experiment at hand, from the angle of the growth, based on Sucroseâs diagram, it seems that all the branches grew in the same direction.Â
Going back to her notes, Albedo referenced a map, triangulating the direction the branches pointed too based on the placement of the pots in her workspace.
Liyue
The branches are growing in the direction of Liyue.
What could possibly be happening in-
A draconic roar filled the air, blowing his papers all over his camp.
Summoning his sword, Albedo looked around, seeing only the tail end of an azure dragon pass over his base.
Could that be-
âDvalin wait!â a musical voice screams out, as a white blur chased after the presumed dragon.
The wind generated by that second figure hit his camp, and face full force. Knocking him a good couple of steps back.
The Alchemist is left standing there, his hair and camp in a disarray.
His papers floated around the camp like large snowflakes, while the liquids from shattered beakers slowly began to freeze over.
What did he just witness?
A small hissing sound catches his attention, one of his experimental potions had been blown off of its stand.Â
It now lay smashed in a pile of papers.

Albedo dove for the spilled beaker with a muffled curse
It was one thing for his experimentâs notes to be ruined, but for someone else to lend their own notes in a bid for help and for him to ruin them himself.
No, absolutely not.
This potion was supposed to be a powerful stain remover, inspired by Kleeâs recent foray into his paint supplies.
While it was successful in dissolving the stain, it also dissolved the clothing.
In other words, it would destroy her notes given enough time.
Thankfully he did manage to get to it in time.
Most of the damage he could fix on his own, given some extra ink.
The incident brought him back to his reality of a ruined camp.
As much as wanted to investigate what was going on, he really needed to clean up his camp before he did.
Thankfully nothing too valuable was destroyed. A couple of beakers here and there, but well, letâs just say Acting Grandmaster Jean would be more surprised if he didnât need to order a batch of extra beakers than if he did.
What can he say, it was the price of conducting Alchemy
Back to his camp, while itâs by no means clean, he truly didnât have the patience to wait any longer.
Who knew if the two mysterious figures were even still on dragonspine.
Grabbing his emergency bag, Albedo headed out in the direction he saw them heading it.
The Summit of Dragonspine.
. . .
He should probably bring some extra supplies, just in case.

âHraagh!â
The last hilichurl ran away as Albedo lowered his sword.
Itâs weird that thereâs such a concentration of hilichurls on his way up the summit.
In fact, heâs met more hilichurls today on his way up than he has over the past month combined.
Hmm, it bears investigating. However right now his focus is on seeing if those mysterious figures were still hanging around Dragonspine.
He had his suspicions on who they were, but well.
He wanted to confirm it with his own eyes first.
He continued his trek up, being mindful of his environment. The air grew thicker, and not with snow, but elemental power.
It was strange, whilst the celestial nail that pierced Dragonspine held a good amount of power, it was not this strong that it could be felt from so far away.
Similarly the heart of Durin was almost on the other side of the mountain.
What could be causing this phenomenon?
The Chalk Prince hastened his pace up the mountain, using his Geo constructs to help him over some of the more tricky terrain.
As he ascended, the air became more and more oppressive. Truly an average human would be having difficulty breathing by now.
But regardless he pushed on, determined to find the source of this power.
Ignoring the falling temperatures that signaled the end of the day, Albedo clambered over one last cliff, before he stumbled upon a small camp, with a couple of familiar faces.
âAlbedo!âÂ
A familiar high pitched screech greeted him.
âWhat are you doing here!â
âItâs nice to see you again Paimon,â he greeted, patting the snow off of his body, âand Traveler,â
âAnother friend of yours, I presume,â a deep rich voice said.Â
âYep, thatâs Albedo, Chief Alchemist of the Knights of Favonius.â Paimon announced, introducing him to the owner of said voice.
âA pleasure, I am Zhongli of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor.â He greeted politely, looking very out of place in his elegant brown suit, considering the location and weather.
Albedo steps forward, preparing to introduce himself a bit better when-
âOho, I believe weâve met before havenât we, good sir.â A colorful bard interjects, his blue eyes sparkling as he blocks his view of Zhongli .Â
Another familiar face, though more of a passing familiar face than a friend..
Heâs seen this man around Mondstadt, Klee enjoys his music and has on occasion attempted to drag him out to go meet this âfunny bardâ, but they always happened whilst he was in the middle of experimenting.
Albedo opens his mouth to reply, only to be interrupted once more
âAnd who is this,â a clear unfamiliar voice rang out.
Albedoâs attention was drawn to the last member of the travelerâs party.
His breath stuttered.
An elegant figure standing on the opposite side of the camp. Their head tilted as they looked at him.
Their slitted eyes were beautiful pools of liquid silver, akin to melted mercury, or liquid starlight.
Their flowing white robe swayed with the wind.
Their body backlit by the setting sun
They looked ethereal, godly.
They felt powerful.
â-do! Have you fallen off a cliff recently or what!â Paimonâs angry voice jolts him back to reality.
Ah, it seems that he missed something.
âUgggh, come one!â The fairy grabs his arm and drags him to the other side of the camp.
She has a surprising amount of strength for such a small creature.Â
Not that size is any indication of strength, heâs met Klee before after all.
The traveler followed, but not before sending the other member of their traveling party a meaningful look.
It seems that they want to discuss something important with him.
He never really did find the two figures did he.
âAlbedo,â the traveler addressed him, their tone uncharacteristically serious. âI need you to leave Dragonspine, at least for a few weeksâ
A few weeks?
âWhatâs going on?â
The duo exchange glances.Â
âIâm going to explain something to you, but I need you to not freak out.â Paimon warned, hovering close to his face.
âI wonât freak out,â Albedo promised, leaning back slightly from Paimonâs heavy stare.
They explained the situation.
About the creator, how they found them, their situation.
About a contract they made with the Adeptus of Liyue and how they needed some place where they were unlikely to accidentally hurt anyone.
It sounds unbelievable.
By all means it should be.
But thereâs no reason for them to lie, nor would they come up with this explanation unless it was absolutely true.
âYouâre not freaking out right?â Paimon asked quietly as they watched him process this information.
To the outsider, Albedo appeared as calm as can be.
On the inside however.
The idea of the creator of Teyvat, here on Teyvat.
Well, thatâs
I mean.
âWould this be a bad time to mention that Durin may be coming back to life.â
âWHAT!!!â

I will admit I had a little bit of trouble since I don't have Albedo and missed the events where he was actually plot relevant.
I was so close to getting him, except I lose the 50/50 and went all the way to pity before running out of primos.
Sigh, Albedo you sure like making my life difficult don't you.

Sorry this took so long guys, I really wanted to take my time to prepare for the next big arc that's coming soon.
Also life got in the way.

Itâs a lot quieter these days. More peaceful.
Not that wasnât peaceful before, but that peace was different, more charged.
Back then, he was recovering from Durinâs poison after all.
He lay alone in the ruins of Decarabian, waiting for his wounds to heal.
He may have been the Dragon of the East of Mondstadt's Four Winds.
But it was still painfully slow.
Emphasis on slow.
Even after the war was done and the battle had passed.
The mental wounds heal much slower than the physical ones.
So no, it was never truly peaceful, even when it was quiet.
He was asleep most of the time, but it didn't stop him from feeling the passage of time.
Didn't stop him from reliving that battle in his dreams.
That battle had been painful beyond words.
And not just from the poisonous blood.
Durin was a dragon.
Not a true dragon mind you, his form was synthetic and his powers false.
But,
He was still draconic, in a sense.
Far more draconic than the Vishaps that his people became.
And, well.
He was so young.
Even when they fought, he could tell that Durin was not used to flight.
Nor to the winds and freedoms of Mondstadt.Â
If it werenât for the fact that his poisonous blood had already wreaked so much havoc, Dvalin wouldâve tried reasoning with him.
Not that he didnât in the first place.
For he did,Â
And, well
Durin was so painfully young,
So obviously innocent and clueless to the ways of the world.
He didnât know that he was causing pain to those around him.
He didnât even know that he himself was getting injured when they fought.
At the time it was infuriating.
This young arrogant creature causing havoc and fear all the whilst singing about a dance with him and the people of Mondstadt.Â
It wasnât until they had started landing blows, when he realized the truth.
Durin didnât know kindness from pain.
His cursed creator never bothered to give him the chance to learn what singing and dancing was.
No opportunities to know life without pain, without injury.
At first he thought they enjoyed the adrenaline of battle, the thrill of landing and receiving blows from a worthy opponent.
He soon realized that their fight may have been one of the only times that Durin had been touched.
That his heavy blows may have been the first bit of warmth this youngling had ever felt.
A child whoâd never known love, would think violence and pain was the norm.
Unknowingly hurting those around him in search of connection.
He never had a chance.
When Davlin bit into his neck, he bit deep and he bit hard.
Hoping that it would make this quick and painless.
Hoping that after all this, Durin might be able to find some peace.
That they could perhaps find a new form to see the world.
To learn what it truly means to sing and dance with the people of Mondstadt.
He had wept for Durin,Â
Privately of course.
Whilst he did not want to hide Durinâs true nature from the world, he also knew that minds were difficult to change.Â
The people of Mondstadt saw only a terrifying beast with poison for blood.Â
A monster that had razed their lands and hurt their people.
How could he even begin to explain how none of it was intentional.
That Durin just wanted to make friends.
No,
They would not believe him,
Or even if they did, they would not understand, could not understand.
They were simply too human to see the woes of a dragon.
It was easier for everyone if,
Well,
If he kept his mouth shut,
And let the humans spin their tales as they see fit.
The trust of humans is hard won, especially for a dragon.Â
He had only received their trust at the word of their Archon, he could not afford to shake it, not during such turbulent times.
Barbatosâs word is powerful, but not all encompassing.
That is by choice,
He would not order his people to trust or accept anyone.Â
He would simply offer protection to those he deemed worthy.
Durin was not worthy.
To this day he is still unsure whether Barbatos knew of Durinâs true nature.
And well,
He doesn't want to.
Because, well.Â
He doesnât know which would be worse.
If he didnât, then that means one more person sees Durin as nothing more than a bloodthirsty evil dragon.
If he did,
Then,
Well,
Dvalin doesnât want to jump to conclusions.
However, he canât deny that he was far from peaceful back when he and Barbatos met.
He was nowhere the force of destruction Durin was, mind you.
It was simply that he had no love for humans.
They were no more important to him than the nearest squirrel or hog.
Barbatos was the one that taught him about the beauty in humanity.
As well as how to use his abilities to protect them.
If it werenât for Barbatos giving him a chance.
Would he have ended up like Durin?
Would Barbatos have killed him, like he did to Durin?
Those were questions that plagued his mind whilst he was recovering.
The pain from his wounds and the poison didnât help.
Not to mention Barbados had gone to sleep.
It was lonely.
His mental barriers were down, and thatâs when the Abyss Order had decided to strike.
Taking advantage of his weakened state, and his doubts in his friends.
They turned him into what he feared he would become.
An evil dragon.
Just like Durin.
He thought Barbatos would abandon him.
Would order his death like he did Durin.
But he didnât,
He trusted him.
Helped him.
Healed him.
Things are better now,
Now
Well,
Barbatos visits,
Sometimes
He never got the answer to his question, and he still darenât ask.
But thatâs alright.
Because Dvalin is not Durin.
Becuase he met Barbatos, and learned about humans.
Because he gained their trust and respect.
Because when he fell, they came and saved him.
Davlin no longer worries about having to prove himself worthy of their trust.
He is,Â
At peace.
A bit too peaceful actually.
The days of the Archon war were filled with patrols and meetings and well,
There was always something to do.
Now,
Barbatos may not be sleeping, but he rarely visits.
Andrius is occupied with his wolf pack.
Davlin is alone most of the time.
Barring the occasional adventurous human who travel to the ruins in order to gawk at him.
They should of course, he is magnificent.
But, well,Â
He wouldnât be terribly upset if theyâd gone up to him and struck up a conversation.
Not that he wants to converse with someone.
He is the mighty Dvalin, Erstwhile King of the Skies.Â
Not that thereâs really much to rule over.
They are at peace after all
He canât deny he missed the days of the action war, when heâd fly amongst the people and spend time with Barbados and Andrius and the rest.
Now that is all ancient history.
Not a living human remembers that time.
Well,
Depending on your definition of human.
Dvalin sighs, his breath echoing through the ruins of Decerrbian.
He could hear the bright chattering of hilichurls.
It seems that a couple more encampments have been set up during his last flight.
Hilichurls lack many qualities, but persistence was never one of them.
His ear twitched as he considered his next course of action.
He could chase them off.
Wouldnât be hard at all, considering his power and their frailty.Â
But it wouldnât solve anything would it, not in the long term.
Theyâd just be back again before long.
The tip of his tail twitched slightly with irritation.
From the outside, he looked the very picture of a sleeping dragon. His azure body curled up in an elegant sprawl, with his head resting on claws.
His eyes were closed, not that he needed them open to monitor the world around him.
As a creature of Anemo, the wind itself were his eyes. He could feel the vibrations of the world around him, itâs humming giving him a perfect sense of what is happening.
And it seems that one foolish hilichurl decided to try its luck today.
He felt the pitter patter of its feet as it approached his resting form.
The former Dragon of the East feigned sleep, and allowed the creature to lower its guard.
He let his breaths slow down, feigning sleep.
The light steps of a particularly adventurous hilichurl approaches his ears.
If he concentrates, he can feel the hum of the celestial curse placed on their body.
He always found it so ironic, that the biggest enemies humanity had to face were those that they created themselves.
A species so desperate for survival, whose greatest strength is in their tenacity and ability to cooperate.
A species whose greatest enemy is ultimately themselves.
Not that dragons did not have their own disputes.
At least, heâs fairly sure that they did.
He was never involved in any himself, having been born near the end of the war between Celestia and dragonkind.
Perhaps thatâs what made him so different from the rest of his kin, beside the whole being alive and unsealed part.
He was too young to truly remember what life in Teyvat under the rule of dragons was like.
He remembers some things.
The air was much different, much wilder and ferocious, flying these days is akin to gliding.Â
Back then, the ability to fly was one hard fought and learned, one had to prove themselves to the wind that they were worthy of using their power.Â
The landscape was more jagged, more free. No neatly trimmed paths or smooth top mountains.
Most of all, the sky.
The sky was different.
There were no stars in the land of dragons.
Only the moon and sun.
A truly different time to be sure.
The sound of footsteps bring him out of his thoughts
Ah, yes the little monster approaches.
He is quite curious on what it plans to do, after all this was no abyss mage, simply a hilichurl, a cursed human.
A trespasser that he was free to deal with as he deems fit.
He can feel it getting closer, the faint hum of the celestial curse on their body gets stronger with every movement it makes.
The desire to tense in anticipation is strong, however the image of a peaceful sleeping dragon is integral for this ruse, tensing up would be too noticeable, especially at this distance.
A moment passes,
Then two.
What is the hilichurl even doing, theyâre close enough to touch, yet they just stand their idly as if-
A diary hand reaches out and yanks on his whiskers.
Dvalinâs eyes fly open as he roars, flinging his head up in the air, the hilichurl with it.
His tail lashes out, smacking into one of the collapsed walls, sending puffs of dust and rock raining down.
He leaps to his feet, all pretense of sleep gone. It seems that that daring little monster decided it wanted to pull on his whiskers.
He could still see it dangling onto his through the corner of his eye.Â
Growling with anger, the Anemo dragon shakes his head furiously, summoning Anemo power to get this unwanted pest off of his body.Â
With a mighty gust, the hilichurl is dislodged, flying off of Dvalinâs whisker.
The screech of the hilichurl that pulled on his whiskers fades into the distance, as its body fades from view.
It seems he had flung it a lot farther than he thought. Considering his remarkable senses, the fact that he can no longer see, nor hear the little monster, well-
 It was their decision to poke a sleeping dragon, or well, pull on one.
The other hilichurls, presumably from that same hilichurlâs camp, all scramble. Their screeches and grunts of panic filling the air.
No doubt hearing his rage at having his appendage pulled.Â
And rightfully so, the audacity to disturb the rest of the Erstwhile King of the Skies deserves nothing less than his anger.
He ignores the fact that technically he did allow it to get this close. As well as pretended to be asleep just to see what it would do.Â
Even so, the sheer disrespect cannot be overlooked.
With a couple beats of his wings, Dvalin takes to the sky, intent on scattering the rest of the hilichurls that have gathered in the ruins of Decarabian.
He does a couple of loops around the ruins, idly scattering the tribes that have settled there.
It didnât take long before it was quiet once more.
Nothing more than the sounds of nature to fill his ears.
Quiet once more,
Until a small spark of energy catches his attention.
He peers over the edge of his platform to see the Barbatos and the blonde traveler with their flying companion.Â
How they managed to get here without him noticing is truly beyond him.
Regardless, it would be difficult for them to navigate up to him, from their position besides Barbatoâs Statue of the Seven
The traveler turned their head to nod at him, whilst Barbatos leaned heavily on his statue, an empty wine bottle clutched in his arms.
He glides down to meet them, careful not to knock them off the platform with the wind.
As he approaches, he can smell the stench of alcohol wafting off of Barbatos.
Dvalin turned to the blonde traveler, âHow much did he drink?â
They turned to him with dead eyes.Â
âHe chugged the entire bottle,â
Dvalin sighed, the air hitting Barbatos, sending his cape into his face.
The wind spirit sputtered, waving his arms at Dvalin in annoyance.Â
âHey, donât judge me, Iâve had a difficult day,â he whined, face still flushed from the alcohol.
âOh,â Davlin hummed judgmentally, âI canât imagine what difficulties you must be facing,â
âHeâs not wrong,â the Traveler defended, stepping forward.
The dragon turned his gaze to them.
The blonde haired figure sighed, most likely realizing that Barbatos was too drunk to participate in this conversation.
They opened their mouth and began to explain.
And the world, as he knew it

I honestly love the story of Durin and Dvalin, made me cry the first time I read it.
Durin's just such a tragic character, all of Gold's creations are to an extent.
There is a theory going around that Pantolone is a (eather, the cryo or the electro) dragon sovereign in human form like Neuvillette, what is your thoughts on that? And in the off chance he really is a dragon, how would that affect his relationship with fatui and his fellow harbinger Capitano, who is said to kill the pyro dragon?
To be honest, in terms of evolution, it makes sense that the dragons who were killed get reincarnated in human form as a form of protection, to hide among humans and avoid being hunted again.
Because we know from Neuvillette that it works, he has been the chief justice of Fontaine for roughly 500 years, have slitted pupils and pointy ears, but nobody questioned what he is?

Oooh, interesting theory about Pantalone.
Iâd say itâs rather unlikely, since weâve established that Neuvilette (back when he was dethroned) was powerful enough to take down Childe in addition to the fact that Pantalone has Ningguang level business skills.
It would be rather unlikely that heâd be in the 9th slot.
Unless he kept it a secret from the Fatui, which would be difficult but also make one wonder to what purpose.
After all once Neuvilette got back his full powers he intended to get justice for his brethren. While the Fatui are posed against Celestia, is that really enough motivation to work with one of the Archons?
Another thing to mention is that the Hydro Dragon is the only one confirmed to be reborn.
None of the other dragons received that privilege, mostly because water can take any shape.
But assuming the Electro and Cryo dragons are dead and have been reborn.
Itâd be unlikely that heâd be the Electro dragon since historically dragons are always drawn to their nation. So, assume heâs cryo, and assuming the Fatui know.
Dottore would be after him for sure.
Childe would be constantly be asking for a spar.
If it was a secret, well good job but also to what end, his throne?
Unlikely, since the power involved took Focalors centuries to gather. She even had an entire nation to draw from. As far as we know, Pantalone just manages money, no mysterious energy sources.
The dynamic would be incredibly different.
Arlecchino amd Childe did not hesitate to smack talk him behind his back, whilst showing great respect to Neuvilette.
So that would change.
Heâd also be less trusted I believe than the rest of the harbingers.
After all, unlike the rest, heâd have something to gain from the Tsaristaâs death.
Itâs hard to believe heâd be in a position of power at all, after all the only reason Neuvilette was invited to the court was so that he could replace Furina. Not because of Focalors sense of justice.
I imagine it would change things up quite a lot.
An interesting theory to be sure. Gave me a couple of ideas for future projects.

Silver clouds float around lazily on a beautiful sparkling blue sky.Â
From beyond the billow of misted water, a spark shines.
It glows brighter.
And faster.
It shoots down towards the sky, breaking the sea of clouds, leaving a gaping hole from where it burst through.
The spark becomes a star, flickering from blue to a brilliant gold, leaving trails of light as it descends towards Teyvat.
As it approaches, it shrinks, becoming smaller, but no less powerful.
A targeted stream of light, of energy.
It approaches a city, a harbor.Â
You can feel the energy in the air, the hustle and bustle as humans galavant and frolic.
The sounds and smell of a festival, filled with raucous cheers and lively conversation.
The light ignores it all, heading straight towards a solitary figure.
A figure cloaked in brown and gold, strolling along the roads of this place.
A non human hiding in their midst.
Theyâre concealing their presence, but the light knows better.Â
It can feel their raw power and strength.
This is the one they were looking for.Â
It heads straight towards it, hitting their body with force, causing them to stumble in their tracks.
The light, no. The blessing burrows itâs way into this figure.

Morax was still sitting there, quietly.
Observing you with those eyes.
Those calm arrogant eyes.
You hate them, you hate them so much.
âDo you remember now,â he asks.
You clench your fist, fingernails digging into your skin.Â
You donât want to believe him. On some level you still donât.
However, you canât deny that he has your power.Â
That he was gifted with your power.

The unfortunate truth, something that Morax no doubt knows, is that you donât have all your memories.
Azhdahaâs sacrifice gave you some of your powers back, but itâs far from what you used to have.
You remember a time when you were powerful.
When you created mountains and oceans.
When you could create living beings with a single touch.
Well, not a single touch, but you could still do it.
You remember an era of peace, of dragons.
But itâs all gone.
Destroyed.
All because of them.
But you donât know how.
You donât know why.
The anger and grief wells up in your chest.Â
Your power responds accordingly, strumming under your skin, begging to be set free.

The teal figure bowed jauntily, waving his hat with a flourish.

The bard in question skipped over to the bar, offering its red headed owner his most charming smile.Â
Alas his efforts were in vain as the Pyro wielder barely offered him a glance before going back to polishing glasses.
âOh come on Master Diluc,â he weedled, offering his best puppy eyes. âDid my music not please your patrons ears, surely that deserves some complimentary beersâ
âThatâs exactly why Iâm deducting some drinks from your tab,â He grumbled, âyour unpaid tab, might I add.â
âIn Angelâs Share I spend my time, in hopes of getting some dandelion wine,â he strummed, âOf varied notes, I sing so high, yet my sweet drink you so deny.â
âLet the bard drink,â Quinn cheered drunkenly, as did the rest of the tavern to Dilucâs chagrin.
The man tried to explain, only for the cheers and chants of the tavern to rise in volume, drowning his voice out.Â
Mondstatians and their alcohol.
The tavern owner turned around with the most unimpressed face known to mankind.
Venit would be intimidated, but unfortunately for Diluc, he is not a man and has seen much much more unimpressed faces over the years.
The two stared each other down, one smug and the other exasperated, all the while the tavernâs chanting rose.
With a defeated sigh, the uncrowned king of Mondstadt pours the bard a glass of dandelion wine.Â
The bard in question whoops in triumph. As does the rest of Angelâs Share as they celebrate his âVictoryâ with more drunken cheers and songs.
He knew the tavern owner wasnât truly angry, exasperated and annoyed perhaps, but the man could never muster any real anger towards Venti.
A small bonus from him revealing his true identity of the Anemo Archon to him.Â
For all his tough words against the Knights of Favonious, he was still a Mondstatder through and through.Â
Whilst he did not have nearly as much presence in Mondstadt as the other nations did, and was proudly the weakest of them. The people of Mondstadt did not forget what heâs done for them and still recognize and worship him accordingly.
The wind spirit kicked his legs back and forth and he watched the redhead over the lip of his glass.
In terms of personality he really is nothing like his ancestor. Which makes sense of course, itâd be foolish to expect them to end up the same even though they have the same bloodline.
If anyone in Mondstadt were to have that title it would be the Acting Grandmaster.
Guiltily, he is glad that they differ.
To humans, gaining a vision is a great honor. Proof that their worth has been acknowledged by the gods.
Heâs happy for them as well, whenever a Mondstater gains a vision.
But he wonât deny the seed of anxiety that sprouts in his heart as well.
Visions can make humans, gods among men.
But the world is made of more than just men.Â
Humans may be many but are comparatively weak in the grand scheme of things.
Although, having numbers is its own form of strength.
Perhaps he isnât giving humans enough credit.Â
A lone human is weak, but a group of humans have a level of strength and fortitude that amazes even the gods.
He supposes that must be why the heavens protect them so.
Well, protect is a strong word.
They will do whatever it takes to ensure the continuation of humanity.
But they really wonât waste their time on individual humans.
Unless,
Well,
Visions are gifts for a reason.
Allogenes are rare, and are appropriately rewarded.
Not that visions are not a great boon.
Heâs single handedly watched how visions save and change the lives of their wielders.
Itâs simply what can come after.
It is extremely rare for an allogene to ascend to Celestia. That position is only reserved for the strongest of wills in all the lands.
Vanessa was one such will.
He knew it the moment he laid eyes on her.Â
Her burning passion and desire to protect her people.
How could she not gain a vision, how could she not ascend.
It was why he stuck around, stayed by her side.Â
Partially to ensure the safety of Mondstadt.Â
Partially to see if thereâs anything he could do to save her.
Not that thereâs anything he could do, or dare do.
Her will was extraordinary during her life.
It's just beyonf that, that is the issue.
The gaze of Celestia is particularly strict when it comes to cases such as these. Any attempts to defy destiny will be met with swift retribution.
Celestia does love its retribution.
Any hint of disloyalty, or protest will be swiftly squashed.
There was always a bitter irony in his position as Archon.
He was strong enough to protect his people from gods and monsters and other humans.
But not Celestia.
Not one was strong enough to fight against Celestia, even the creator of this land fell to their lies and trickery.
He has no idea what the Tsaritsa could possibly be planning to think they stand a chance.
Perhaps thatâs why sheâs moving so quickly.
In hopes of finishing her plans before the Heavenly Principles awaken.
He wished her luck on that front.
Even though he may not have the courage to do the same.
He just wished she was less aggressive about it.
Honestly, she didnât even bother asking him before sending Rosalyn to attack him.
In front of his own church no less.
Honestly the audacity
Although, to be fair, without that audacity she probably wouldnât have dared to try going against Celesta.Â
Her lack of contact with Celestia may have also played a role.
She is not a part of the original Seven after all.
Both he and Morax had visited Celestia firsthand upon their ascension to Archonhood.
Itâs where they received their gnosis, their Archon robes and well. Â
Where theyâve seen the true capabilities of Celestia.
Witnessed the lengths theyâre willing to go to to squash any resistance.
On that front he understood Baalâs reasoning behind the Vision Hunt Decree.
While she may not have gone to Celestia herself and witnessed what the original seven did. He had no doubt that her sister passed on some warning to her before her death.Â
It was smart.
If not ultimately misguided.
Sacrificing the few for the sake of the many.
Stifling a couple vision holders in exchange for the safety of her nation.
He understood the urge.
Disagreed with it, but understood it all the same.
The role of allogenes is essential to the survival of Teyvat.
Like it or not.
Without them, Teyvat would collapse.
Sacrificing the few for the many.
He despises it.
What Teyvat is built upon.
What it requires to function as it does now.
But heâs not strong enough to change any of it.
All he can do is wallow in the knowledge that Teyvat is-

Anyways, heâs getting maudlin, thatâs no good for such a festive night.Â

One of his pettier achievements to say the least.
When Morax announced his desire for Liyue to become the trading hub of Teyvat, and one of the most prosperous nations. Going on to monologue about how he will pave the way for business and prosperity using his contracts and all that blah blah blah.
Well, he couldnât help but make fun of him about that, now could he.
Leading to Rex Lapis snapping back about how he canât contribute anything to his nation beyond drunken songs.
Well jokes on him.
Mondstadt is now the nation of drunken songs.Â
The best in fact.
Sure it could be considered a waste of time to change the water in Mondstadt specifically so that it would be the best for wine brewing.
But the wine industry is now one of Mondstadt's main sources of revenue.
It was a calculated business decision and completely not related to the grumbling of some winemakers about having to purify the water multiple times to get a good yield.
A familiar presence approaches, the wind whispers.
Venti perks up as he hears a familiar set of footsteps approach.
âTone deaf Bard,â an excitable voice exclaimed. âI knew heâd be here.â
The bard in question swiveled around in his seat to face the Traveler and Paimon, pasting a cheerful smile on his face.
âTraveler, we meet again, why donât you sit down, we can share a drink or ten.â
The golden haired teen rolled their eyes at his, admittedly cheesy rhyme.
âI need your help with something,â
Their voice is serious.
In all honesty he hasnât seen them this serious since what happened with Dvalin.
Venti took a quick peek over at Master Diluc, still serving other customers, great!.
He quickly slipped out of his seat and followed the Traveler out of the Angelâs Share.
Once theyâve reached an appropriately secluded spot, they turned to him.
Paimon and the Traveler exchange glances.
This must be pretty serious for even Paimon to sober up like that.
âVenti,â they ask, âWe need to ask you and Dvalin a favor.â

As a proud Fontainian citizen (lol), I love to see Fontaine's involvement in sagau. However, it's always only the ones with political power so basically Neuvillette, Furina when she's still acting as the Hydro Archon, Arlecchino (+the Fatui) and Wriothesley. I love them all dearly, but I wish to see more about Navia and Clorinde, they were both very present in the AQ and have both their own undeniable influence in Fontaine (one is THE Spina Di Rosula's boss and the other the #1 Champion Duelist in the whole country +Furina's bodyguard) (+they're both my pookies) Idk, it always feels weird not to see them, like the Creator/Impostor is around and you don't even see two of the most important people of Fontaine get involved??
(tbh I really want to see the others too, even if I have no idea what they could bring to the plot but Charlotte trying to uncover the truth and unexpectedly bumping into the Creator or finding out about Neuvillette & cie's plan and either joining in or info-dumping everything in the Steambird???? Why is nobody talking about Charlotte????)
Oooooh that is a very good point.
Honestly considering how new they are as characters Iâm not surprised at the lack of content regarding them.
The arc on Fontaine is an interesting one to be sure.
Iâll see what I can do to include these ladies into the story.
I have plans for Navia and Clorinde, Iâm unsure whether or not theyâd end up as POV characters, but they will be there.
The most interesting thing about Fontaine is that it is very much a land of humans, or more precisely a land without âgodsâ.
Even during the rule of Furina, she was less of a figure of authority and worship in the same way the other Archons are.
No churches or shrines in her honor unlike Barbados and Raiden Shogun.
No festivals or events like with Kusanali and Rex Lapis.
While there is the Furina film festival, thatâs named after her skill as an actress rather than her position as their Archon.
It is so very human.
Of course there are Melusines, but theyâre not creatures of legends such as the Adepti, the Youkai, four winds of Mondstadt or the Aranara.
It is truly removed from The Seven.
Which makes sense as it is ruled by the Hydro Sovereign.
But that also means itâs humans are much more removed from the Archons and as a result, Celestia.
What that will mean for this story youâll just have to wait and see.
There is a theme for who gets blessed. Itâs not based off of what characters I have, at least not completely.
Clorinde and Navia are both so intrinsically human and have such vital roles in the community that, well. . .
It will be a very interesting dynamic for character development.
Because there will be character development, believe me.
My only concern is with Charlotte. Since sheâs such an Ace reporter, should our lovely Creator bump into them, well I mean itâs a scoop but it will also rock the foundations of Teyvat and might lead to â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â â .
But I do have a couple of ideas for an extra featuring her. No promises though!
However since you are a fontainian I do feel the need to warn you of the oncoming weather.
I fear once the Fontaine arc begins youâd best shut your doors and prepare for rain.
As I read more SAGAU fics I start to realize that many authors use the same set of characters, which makes some sense from both a lore and timing perspective. Most of them were written before Sumeru.
It does make me wonder now that weâve gotten new region, are there any characters that you guys wanna see.
Obviously Iâm not promising that I can fulfill every requested character.
However I will do my best to either integrate them in the story or if inspiration strikes, writing an extra for them.
So if you have any characters, whether theyâve never been in SAGAU or is the most common character ever, let me know!

before you ask, no I have not written any of the parts leading up to that ending, nor will I begin to write faster.
But there is a confirmed ending and I swear I will get to it even if it takes me until the end of Genshin. It probably won't take that long, but life is unpredictable.

Every breath you take feels like a struggle.

You lash out blindly, trying to get rid of this invisible weight.
You feel a slight tugging at your chest.
You donât know what it is, but youâre desperate enough to try anything.
You reach inwards and try to pull it out.Â
To push back that suffocating force.
You can feel it straining against your efforts.Â
But it holds fast.
Itâs easier to breathe now, but the second you retract your powers, it pushes back with even more force.
A backlash.
A shockwave of your own power slammed into your body, flattening it against the surface youâre laying on.
You can barely breathe.

Itâs dark, and cold and it hurts.
You tentatively reach out with that same energy you felt in your chest. Delicately mapping out the crushing weight.

Your attempts have grown from throwing waves of energy out at random, to sharpened points of precise energy, targeting known weak points.
Youâve gotten better at controlling the energy.
Today is the day.
You know it is.
You focus yourself.
Your powers reaching out to strike the barrier.Â

That stone starts to shift.

It has been well over a week since he, Xiao and the Traveler had sealed the creator underground.
In all honesty, he was surprised that it had taken them this long to break the first seal.
The looks on Mountain Shaper and Moon Carverâs faces when he requested they alerted him when the first seal showed signs of breaking were rather humorous.
But that was not the only reason.
While there were periods of time where he couldâve been considered the strongest of the Archons. That could hardly compare to the powers of a creator.Â
Even sealed and heavily weakened, there was no telling the limits their powers could go.Â
All of Celestia was created for the sole purpose of suppressing them after all. How could he dare compete with that.
The Primordial One themselves didnât even dare approach them in single combat, choosing to instead-Â

That is a story for another time
Besides, he is retired.
Heâd much rather avoid a fight if he can.
No, those seals served much different purposes than the ones heâd placed on Azhadha.
As heâd explained to the Traveler and Paimon. His worry was not if the creator would break out.Â
That was but a matter of time.
Rather their mental state and their ability to control their powers.
The first seal was to test for that.Â
An intricate web of woven seals. Interlocking with each other to create a strong but complex puzzle to push through. Using brute force would only create a backlash that would hurt the captive.Â
To escape the seal would take immense control over their powers and concentration.Â
A feat not easily done by one blinded by rage and fury.
A test.
From the reports heâd received, it seems that things are proceeding well.
Heâd asked for a couple of days off from Director Hu. Something that she did not grant home without trying to pry for details.
Unluckily for her, he simply told her that he was taking a trip to enjoy the sights of Mt. Hulao.
Heâs not lying.Â
He is enjoying the sights of Mt. Hulao.
The fact that it has an excellent view of where the cave the creator is sealed in, well.Â
Some things are not for mortals to interfere with, as Xiao would say.
Nonetheless, Zhongli could feel the seal weakening.Â
It is time.

As the stone door shuddered open, the retired Geo Archon stared upon the figure in the center of the room.
They looked deceptively delicate, dressed in a flowing white robe, much akin to the ones granted to the Archons alongside their gnoses.
If this was a form favored by the creator, it would explain the design of the ceremonial robes having taken inspiration from their attire.
Zhongli strongly doubts it.
Nonetheless from their position, crumpled up at the base of the stone platform they were laid upon.
They very much looked harmless.
Like a gentle dove that flew into the clutches of some evil creature, trapped by a monster's greed.
But the Adeptus knew that if it werenât for the layers upon layers of sealing barriers heâd be faced with a crushing wave of uncontrolled energy.
A truly fascinating duality.
He let his footsteps echo as he stepped into the chamber, stopping only a couple meters before the largest barrier.
Their eyes flickered over, conveying a truly unsettling emptiness.
He would have expected anger, betrayal, or even confusion.Â
Not this blank stare.
Although, it seems that it is changing.
He watches as their blank stare becomes more aware.
The retired Archons wondered at what their first words to him would be.
The traveler told him of their interaction in the teapot. At how unconcerned and calm they were.
Zhongli suspected their attitude at the time had less to do with their personality and more with the sheer amount of seals Celestia had placed upon them. Ones that suppress not just their elemental power but memory and emotion.
Even now, with layers of his own powers sealed around them, the presence of celestial power is difficult to ignore.
The fact that theyâre able to dismantle one of his barriers is a great feat. Even if it was meant to be a test, it was by no means an easy one.
Dare he say that many of the Adepti would struggle, even with their full abilities.
To dismantle it, takes not only strength, but focus and concentration.
That focus is nowhere to be seen now.
Hundreds of emotions flashed across their face. Likely the result of Azhadhaâs memories mixing with bits of their own.
The Adeptus canât help but wonder which belonged to his old friend, and which were from the creator.
Either would be a sight to see.
He missed his old friend deeply.
But the creator.
As much as he is wary of them, and rightfully so.
There is still an intrinsic longing to know the creature that created the world he knew.
That infused the ley lines with their energy, and created the ground and plants that he knows.
That breathed life into what he suspected would be a barren rock.
However, that is neither here nor now.
It looks as if theyâre almost done processing everything.
Their hand grasped at the side of the stone altar weakly as they panted for breath from their position on the floor.
The silence was suffocating.
The retired Archon knew that they wouldnât make the first move. Vulnerable as they are, it was best for him to reach out first.
âAre you alright?â He asked, careful to pitch his voice in a way that belies only concern.
âYou dare speak to me, child of Celestia,â slitted eyes flashed in anger as their energy slammed against the sealing barriers, making the ceiling shake from its force.Â
Ah, anger it is.
âI dare,â he agrees. âAnd with good reason,â
â What reason could that be, your trust in your beloved gods,â they snapped in response, wincing slightly.Â
It seems that their memories have yet to settle fully.
A pity
âYou blessed me,â Zhongli asserts calmly, âthat means something.âÂ
âI wh-â
Focusing on that fragile flame inside his chest, the Adeptus lets out some of its power. Allows it to seep through the heavy seals and reach the confused figure slumped on the ground.
âTha-â
âIs your blessingâ Zhongli finishes.
He brings the power back in. Nestling it closely in his chest.
He looks back at the creator, whose confusion is evident.
âWhy would I-â they shake their head in confusion, âno I, it mustâve been a trick or-â
âItâs not,â He asserts.Â
They clenched their fists, bunching up the white fabric in frustration.
It seems that the two have much to talk about.
Zhongli summoned a chair, pulling the earth up into his preferred shape, before taking a seat. Perfectly aware of the sharp gaze tracking his every move.
âI believe introductions are in order,â he started,Â
âMorax,â they interrupted, not batting an eyelid.
The Adeptus in question blinked in response at their interruption. âI am, yes. Do you know who you are.â
They paused, biting their lip slightly as they frowned in thought.Â
âHe, . He called me Creator.â They said hesitantly.Â
âHe did,â Morax agreed, âand you are.â
âThen if Iâm the creator, why am I locked up?â Their voice rose at that last word, their energy flaring out slightly, slamming into the barriers.
âBecause of that,â Zhongli said, as he tilted his head at the barrier. âYou are uncontrolled, wild. There is no guarantee that you will not destroy mountains every time you encounter a minor inconvenience.â
He held up a hand, halting their protests. âI take no pleasure in sealing you away.â He promised, âIâm only doing it to protect Liyue.â
âTo protect humans,â
âYes, to protect humans.â
âDespite what they did to him.â
âIt was not intentional on their part.âÂ
âBut you sealed him away for that,â
âHe broke his contract.â
âThey were hurting himâ
â- yes.â He admitted.
The creator stared them down with cold unforgiving eyes.
âI did everything I could to ease his suffering.â
âBut it wasn't enough,âÂ
âIt was not enough.â
A tense silence enveloped the cave.
The creator sighed, pulling themselves up to sit upon the stone platform, their legs dangling slightly.
âWhy did you offer him a contract?â They asked, tilting their head. âYou knew who Azdaha was. What your god did to him.â
Zhongli paused, it was a question that he himself has mulled over many times. Even when he first found Azhada, in his weakened blind form, having been trapped underground for so long. He knew that he was the last remnant of the Geo Sovereign.Â
Regardless of how useful Azdahaâs aid could be, it would not have been worth the scrutiny and possible retaliation from Celestia.
Even so,Â
Even though he knew the dangers.
Even though he knew it would one day backfire on him.
He still wanted to give him a chance.
To prove that dragons and humans could coexist.
Even if it was for a short time.
He opened his mouth.
Then closed it.
He knew his answer.
However he didnât know how the creator would react.
A part of him feared that theyâd reject the notion.
Reject the idea of peace.
Of course, avoiding the topic wonât make it go away. Some things are better done swiftly.
Call him selfish, but heâd like to hold on to the hope for a while longer.
At moments such as these, he understands why the Traveler letâs Paimon talk herself in circles. Whilst there are undoubtedly ways to speed up the course of the conversation, it is much easier to let someone else speak for you.Â
Of course, the duo did offer their assistance in this matter. However he believed their talent was better used elsewhere.Â
After all, there was no telling how the creator would react, and if they were unwilling to listen to him. Perhaps theyâd be more willing to listen to their own people.
After all, whilst Azhdaha had fallen victim to erosion, the companion of an old friend had not.
Perhaps theyâd be just what he needs.
He can only hope that they get here in time.

I'm not going to give any spoilers, but let's just say there will be an arc occurring in Snezhnaya.
The thing is, our beloved creator is still very unused to their new form and powers. Not to mention they don't actually have all their memories back, the knowledge they have of the current Teyvat is restricted to what Azhdaha managed to pass onto them.
Azhdaha's sacrifice cracked the seal holding them back from their true form.
Considering the fact that that crack in the seal was strong enough that Zhongli and the Adepti needed to seal them under a mountain in order to control their powers.
Well,
The top 3 ranked Fatui harbingers may have power comparable to gods.
But, in the world of Teyvat, whilst the most powerful of the gods have the power to reshape the world and it's people to their whims.
They can shape and manipulate, but they cannot create.
The creator created Teyvat.
But back to the question at hand.
It is not simply a matter of can, but a matter of will.
The unfortunate fact about Teyvat, something explored by the world quest of Chenyu Vale, is that Teyvat is not made for human life.
The gods did not manipulate the world out of boredom or hubris, but because if they didn't humanity would die.
Revenge can be just, but it may not always be. There are ripple effects to every action.
This is all to say that the situation is much messier than you'd expect. I don't intend this to be a grim dark story of suffering, nor will it be all sunshine and rainbows.
Our characters will deal with messy situations, where there may be no correct answer.

Funny thing about the brain is that it actually helps you filter out a lot of sensations.Â
For example, you can always see your nose. Always, but you donât notice it because your brain filters it out.
Or the fact that your toes are always touching each other, you can always feel your toes.
Itâs actually really important that the brain does all this, because if it didnât you probably wouldnât be able to get stuff done.
Youâd just lay there.
Like a potato, unable to do anything because youâre too busy feeling.
Do you know why I know that?
Itâs because Iâm feeling it, right now.
Every inch of my body, I can feel.
The gentlest of breezes, the slightest brush of fabric, the pounding of the heart, the light touches of my eyelashes hitting my face.
I just laid there, breathing.
Feeling the air going in and out of my body.
Youâre not sure where you are.
Or why youâre here.
You just, are.

The act of moving seemed torturous in your mind.
You can already feel so much, how could you even dare think about feeling other stuff.

Didnât want to feel anymore.
Every sensation, every movement feels overwhelming.

You just lay there.

You squeeze your eyes closed tighter, desperately trying to ignore the light that still permeated through your eyelids.
Hoping that the quiet peace of sleep will overtake you.
It doesnât
You canât sleep.
Itâs just waves upon waves of noises and feelings.Â
Itâs awful
You hate it
You hate it so much.
You want to rip off the blankets and sheets and get out of this bed and scream, but you know that doing that would just introduce more unpleasant sensations which would be even worse than what youâre experiencing right now.
Even though you know that your brain is still demanding you get rid of the things that are touching you and instead of doing anything, you just stay there and stew in your bubbling resentment and irritation at everything and anything.
Youâre just stuck in this cycle of hating everything and wanting it to be different, but fearing that difference and also being too tired to do anything about it.
That just gets worse and worse and the burning anger and frustration just keeps building in your chest and youâre helpless to stop it.
You know itâs not rational and itâs dumb, but itâs still there and you just feel like a helpless shell thatâs about to burst with the amount of things that youâre feeling and you hate it and that just makes it worse.
Youâre so caught up with everything youâre feeling that you donât even notice the shaking of the floors, nor the frantic footsteps and the slamming open of the door.
All you can focus on is the pressure and anger and rage and helplessness thatâs building inside of you.
Then it stops.
Distantly you can feel some foreign energy pressing against you.
Itâs unpleasant, but in a soothing manner.
You can feel all that resentment and anger slowly shrink.
It doesnât go away, itâs still there, sitting as a small lump inside you, noticeable at every move.
But itâs not overwhelming.
An artificial calm washes over you, relaxing your limbs and making you sleepy.
You can hardly remember why you were so irritated in the first place.
Youâre just tired,
You want to sleep,
So you do.

The Adeptus breathes a huge sigh of relief as the ground stops shaking.
Even with the strongest of sealing spells placed around this domain, the power of the creator is still one to behold.
Thankfully the calming spell Cloud Retainer gave him works in soothing the sleeping deity.
She said it was one that she had used to calm Shenheâs bloodlust back when she was younger. It became much less effective over time and as her disciple grew in age, but it works as a temporary measure.Â
The Yaksha had many doubts in using the spell, after all Shenhe was only human, how could using this on her even compare to using that on a god, nevermind the creator of the world.
But it did,
Somehow.
As much as Lord Lapis assured him that the creator had been weakened greatly, Xiao still had his doubts.
After all, even in a half conscious state, they managed to crack the barriers placed upon this domain to seal in their power and resentment.
Not that heâs particularly happy that these barriers have been placed there.
He sighed, feeling every single one of his centuries.
As much as the Traveler teased him for looking young, he was one of the senior Adepti and the years to prove it.
He knew many of the tales about the creator of Teyvat, not as much as Lord Lapis of course , but much more than even the most learned of human scholars.
He knew of their actions, their allies, their feats.
And their downfall.
It was not quick, nor was it pretty or honorable.Â
But it was how Celestia conquered Teyvat.
It would be of no surprise to anyone had the creator returned with rage and blood.
If theyâd come with a thirst for vengeance.
With intent to destroy their creation that had been turned against them.
But they did not.

The elusive outlander that appeared upon the borders of Liyue, dripping with the energy of the creator.
It wasn't that no one noticed their energy.
Simply that no one could recognize it.
After all, the only living being left whoâs met the creator is the very same that defeated and sealed them away.
That he knew of mind you.
There is a good chance that there are those whoâve been around since the age of dragons still lurking in the dark corners of Teyvat.
However, theyâve made their presence scarce. Posing no real threat to Liyue, as such they were of no concern to him.
The soft clicking of shoes took him out of his thoughts.
The Traveler poked their head in, eyes drawing to the unconscious figure on the bed.
They then flickered over to him, silently asking for permission to enter.
He nods, stepping to the side, as to not disturb the sleeping deity.
âSo how are they?â they asked quietly,
Xiao couldnât hold back a sigh at that question.Â
Itâs been several days now since they found the creator at the site of Azhdahaâs sealing.Â
Several days of going in and out of consciousness, all with dubious control over their powers.
âI apologize for the inconvenience,â he starts, feeling guilty at how slow things are progressing. It was the Traveler after all that had volunteered their own home, teapot, as a base of operations.
More so out of convenience, since at the time they had no idea when deity would awaken next, nor their condition, so taking them somewhere where any potential power leakage would not result in casualties was the first order of affairs.
As far as he knew, Lord Lapis had been working with many other of the Adepti to create a hidden domain where it would be safer to keep the creator, should the worst happen.
The Yaksha felt guilty that Lord Lapis had to step in and take control when he should be rightfully enjoying his retirement.
But in this case, he canât say heâs not thankful for his steady presence.
Having to battle Osial without the steady support and presence of his Archion was a harrowing experience. Whilst heâs lost many companions in the field of battle, the Lord of Geo was always the steady presence that everyone believed in.Â
The person that would always overcome the enemy.
Losing him was like losing the very ground he walked on.Â
It was only the reminder of his duty and contracts that he was able to shoulder on.Â
Thankfully that was just a test, and one which they passed with the aid of the Traveler and the Qixing.
Whilst the Traveler is lending their aid in this endeavor, the Qixing.
Some affairs are not for mortals.
Even the idea of explaining the full, true history of Teyvat and how humans came to be is a burdensome task.
No,
It was best to leave this to the Adepti.
And the Traveler.
He snuck a look at the outlander standing beside him.
Well, standing is a strong word, they were leaning against the wall after all.
Their golden eyes flickered over to him, noticing his stare.
He resisted the urge to look away from their striking gaze, âDo you want me to get a chair?â
âIâll keep watch,â They offered in response. The two having silently agreed not to leave the creator alone, or unguarded.
Trusting the Traveler with the task, Xiao headed out of the room.
He never spent much time in Adeptal abodes, despite having one tucked away somewhere is Juyun Karst, he seldom uses it.
It was far too removed from Guili Plains, where he tends to patrol the most. In all honesty, Wangshu Inn is probably his closest equivalent to an abode.Â
Not that heâs willing to admit it, he is well aware of the Qixing meddling with the Inn in question, how theyâve set it up to be a safe haven for him should he need one.
A kind but foolish sentiment. Should he ever require a safe haven, an inn full of humans will be the last place heâd go.
That doesnât stop him from wanting to go there from time to time, especially if the chef is in.
He was getting distracted.
Xiao entered one of the rooms.
Ah, chairs.
It seemed the Traveler wasnât the biggest fan in interior design.
Not that they were bad at it. When they put their mind to it, the rooms were elegantly decorated with good quality furniture.
When it wasnât,
Well.
He stared at the piles of furniture, haphazardly stacked around the room.
At least it was clean?
The Yaksha grabbed two of the closest chairs and started moving back towards the guest bedroom.
Whilst he was making his way there, he heard the sound of the front door opening.
Peeking over the banister, he saw Lord Lapis enter, adjusting his sleeves slightly.
He moved over to catch his eye, he bowed, as much he could with his cargo, which was really more of an exaggerated nod.
The retired Archon climbed the stairs to join him in his journey.
In hindsight he shouldâve grabbed an extra chair.
Or even a table.
Well itâll look weird if he went back now.
As the two walked, Lord- Zhongli, filled him in on the happenings outside the teapot.
Some of the other Adepti were assisting in his workload as much as they were able.
Something he was grateful for.
And the domain for the creator was almost complete.Â
Now it was simply the task of moving them to it, without disturbing them.
Whilst Xiao took no pleasure in his duties of extinguishing the spirits of fallen gods, rarely has he wished to be out on patrol as much as he does right now.
He knew exactly why he was being set on guarding duty.
Even if he wasnât fond of that fact.
Steadfastly ignoring the flickering spark inside his chest, he set the chairs down by the Traveler, who smiled in response.
Lo- Zhongli strode past the two of them to examine the condition of the unconscious deity.
The figure, stirred at his presence, their energy rising as a result of that.
He sighed, backing off, gesturing at Xiao.
Thatâs when the Yaksha reluctantly approached the creator.
They stayed calm.
For him.
It was of great surprise to him when he was blessed.
To everyone really.
He was the first properly documented case after all.
Not that he was the first to be blessed, he believed that honor lay with some Mondstatian knight, nor was he the first Liyuan, he suspects some human may have received the blessing before him.
But for a period of time.
He was the only one they knew of.
That could recognize the blessing at least.
He was greatly favored for a period of time as well.
His skill grew at a rate it hadnât since the days of the Archon war. Back when growing was the difference between life and death.
His karmic debt,
Was also greatly lessened.
To this day, the pain has never increased past the day he was blessed.
There were days where he felt the full force of his karmic debt.
And days where he felt light as a feather.
He hated those days.
Grateful
But also hateful.
Because it would never last.
It was only ever a glimpse of peace.
A flicker of freedom.
Sometimes hope could be crueler than pain.
Pain he knew, he understood.
A sharp blunt hammer of agony bearing into his soul.
He was used to that.
But hope,
Hope is like a weed,
Ever growing and persistent.
You can get used to pain. He did after all.
You canât get used to hope.
Hope is greedy.
It always wants more.
He was getting distracted.
Xiao approached the sleeping creator.
They didnât stir, their energy, a shifting cloud around their figure, accepted him into its embrace.
It swirled around him, suppressing his karmic debt, rejuvenating his energy and soothing aches and pains he didnât know he had.
Itâs addicting
He hates it.
Stepping forward, he gently lifts the creator.
Cradling them in his arms, as one would a damsel or so Cloud Retainer would say.
Many good things came with her moving to the Harbor.
Her interest in Inazumen light novels was not one of them.
Apparently she gained some ideas regarding his relationship with the Traveler.
Ideas that he thought he stomped out when he first got blessed.
There was once a theory that the Traveler was the one who gave out the blessings.Â
And that the strength of the blessing was directly correlated with the strength of oneâs relationships with them.
It was wrong.
Unfortunately the ideas that stemmed from that theory did not die the same death the theory did.
He respected the Traveler greatly.
Thatâs all.
âXiao,â
He didnât jump at their soft voice.
He didnâtÂ
Thankfully the sleeping deity didnât stir,

He also resisted the urge to bristle when the Traveler placed their hand on his back.
This is only to get out of the teapot, he reminded himself as the two teleported out of the teapot.
Their hand was warm.
He could still feel its imprint well after they let go.
Lord L- Zhongli appeared beside him soon after.Â
âWhere to?â He asked.

It wasnât far,
Not in the grand scheme of things,
Liyue is huge after all, it would take a mortal days to traverse on foot.
Except well,
They didnât have days,
Who knew the next time the creatorâs energy would lash out.
This time without layers of sealing spells surrounding them, he didnât want to think of the carnage.
It was only a couple hours of travel.
Made much faster by Lo- Zhongliâs foresight in clearing the way of both enemies and cough inconvenient walking terrain.
Not that any errant enemies would dare approach. Considering the sheer amount of energy dripping off of the creator, any creature with even a shred of self preservation would know not to attack them.
The three walked in silence.
Not out of awkwardness, it was a comfortable silence all things considered.
Well, as comfortable as can be considering how dangerous the passenger in his arms was.
Thankfully, they didnât stir throughout the entire journey, their head resting peacefully on his chest.Â
It wasnât long before they made it to the domain.
It was between Mt Hulao and Mt Xuanlian
A deceptively peaceful area, with a secret domain hidden behind a waterfall.
The three made their way inside.Â
Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted Cloud retainer, or well Xianyun in this form, as she double checked some of the seals by the entrance.
 He quickly made his way to the center of the domain, a large circular room, with layer upon layer of sealing spells and barriers set up.Â
A simple bed, placed in the center of it all.
He put them down gently, only to tense as their energy flared.Â
The Traveler and Lord Lapis tensed too, preparing for their awakening.
Only for it to settle down.
Xiao breathed a sigh of relief, teleporting out of the circle and nodding to Rex Lapis, who activated the barriers.
The room lit up with golden sigils. A beautiful display of Geo power, creating sparkling barriers around the center of the room.
The plain stone walls looked as if they were inlaid with gold. The barriers are akin to the finest of silk, thinner than spiderwebs, doming around the sleeping figure.
âNow, all thatâs left is for them to wake up,â Lord Lapis announced solemnly.
He looked tired.
Understandably so,Â
No one expected this to happen, a deity of this scale is one that Celestia would struggle against, never mind a lone retired Archon.
Xiao knew his strength, he knew Lord Lapisâs strength, but he also knew of the feats of the creator.
He knew that should they truly wish to escape, these barriers would be naught but paper walls for them to tear through.
All the Yaksha could hope for was their continued slumber.
As the three trailed out of the domain, sealing the paths behind them as they went.
The slumbering figure trapped inside shifted.
The heavy layers of Geo energy crushing themself against their body made themselves known.
It was heavy,
Crushing,
Solid,
Familiar,
A familiar energy,
One of an old enemy.
Flashed of a man, a beast.
A figure of brown and gold, with a white hood.
A warm hand extending out.
The gift of vision, of light.
Of time of companionship.
Of joy.
Of battle.
Of war.
Of loss.
Of grief.
Of Anger and hate.
Hate and fear and anger.
Confusing feelings of hate and love, of joy and sorrow.
You remember who these memories belong to.
You remember his form.
His face,
His name.
Azhdaha.
In the dark cave, hidden behind layers of rock and seals and a waterfall.
Glowing slitted eyes, snap open.
