Usagi quickly looked down at their intertwined hands, her cheeks flushed from the sudden interaction. It had been a long time she had held hands with someone; she wasn’t prepared for the soothing, loving emotions that came to these sort of actions. Needless to say, she was in a small state of shock. She squeezed Chinatsu’s hand tightly for a mere moment, trying to collect her thoughts. After a minute of processing what was happening, she let out a deep breath and smiled. 

& & just like that, she felt like she was home again. 

“ Ahhh, sorry about that! I was caught off guard.. Your hands, they’re so warm. I love it.  Thank you for being here with me. “

“ I could’ve sworn I thought I just saw something fall out from his bag. . . ”

Usagi was walking home, while carrying her cat upon her shoulders. As she was crossing the street, she couldn’t help but look towards the park she always seemed to pass by. She had caught a glimpse of someone getting up, rushing to put their stuff away. She wouldn’t think twice of it, until she thought she saw something fall out from the open bag. Being the good samaritan she was, she wanted to check it out before making any more assumptions.

She rushed over to the tree where the fellow was sitting, and looked around. Eyes beamed at the notebook she found, tossed to the side. She quickly picked it up, and started running towards the stranger, hoping she could catch up to him before he was out of her site. It didn’t help that it had been a while since she last went for a run. Fitness wasn’t her strong point. It took more energy than expected to finally reach him, as she tried to catch her breath. 

“ W-Wait! Excuse me!! You dropped this! I’m not about to run after you again, ahhhh---”

Dull eyes widened slightly, as footsteps started to come near. Usagi knew was that she was stranded in the middle of nowhere, and hadn’t been able to find another individual who looked friendly enough to approach. She took this as a sign of mere luck. Maybe she was able to get a good, honest opinion from someone after all. 

She turned around, and looked up at the tall, woman approaching. The first thing she noticed about her were the massive pigtails sat upon her head. They reminded her of her own hairdo, somewhat. Her stare started to blur into a daze, while her stomach starting to grumble lightly.

How embarrassing.

" H-Hello there! I was wondering if you know anything about this restaurant, Hemlock? I’ve been debating on whether or not I should try it out... but it looks so fancy, ya know?! I feel like I might stand out a bit, ehe. Do you recommend this place though? "

Thinking with her stomach was something Usagi did often, unfortunately. She hoped that this person was able to guide her to a food shop nearby, or else there was going to be some trouble.

She had never seen so much hair on a person’s head, besides her own; especially on a male figure. The first thing that came to mind were all of the possible ways she could do someone’s hair. Braiding, ponytails, pigtails, curling it, straightening it, etc; Heck, they was even the idea of putting little buns atop the forehead, just like how her hair was. All of these ideas continued to swarm around her mind, as her stare grew longer and longer. She was in a daze, and wasn’t able to snap out of it right away.

Unfortunately for her, she didn’t realise the person she was staring at had turned around, noticing her presence right away. A hard cough was heard, and Usagi immediately felt herself back in reality. She quickly looked down, unable to face the person’s hard gaze. She was caught in the act, and was completely embarrassed. 

“ Um.... ahaha, hello. You have.... such nice hair? “

“ Kuuuuuuuro-kuuun! You have such a big heart.  It felt like my whole world was spiraling out of control, just as the realization hit me! I owe you big time, promise!!! “

Usagi sighed under her breath, crossing her arms over her chest. Not only did she find out the ice cream parlor ran out of her favorite flavor, but she had forgotten her wallet at home! Talk about unfortunate. She was about to pay for a flavor she only liked TWICE as much (not her usually three times as much), but it looked like fate was tempting her. She was reaching into her pocket to pay at the register before realizing they were completely empty. If she hadn’t been out with her dear friend, she wouldn’t have been able to treat herself. She was feeling quite thankful, and had to make note she was going to treat Kuro the next time they’d go out for sweets. 

After paying at the register, she lead the both of them to a nearby booth, and sat down. She was awaiting her raspberry/chocolate sundae with excitement, beaming at her dear friend with glee. 

“ Kuro! Thank you again for covering me! I promise I’ll pay you back as soon as we meet up again. What sort of ice cream did you order, by the way? “

“ Oiiii, Luna.... what do you think of that little.... creature? over there, by that guy?! Is it some sort of monster, or....? ”

Usagi nodded her head in agreement with her feline pal Luna, as the two couldn’t help but peer over at the blue creature, standing along the teenager. She quickly brushed off the cat’s tail from her face, as her cat hopped off from her shoulders. Looked like their visit to What’s Poppin’ was going to last a bit longer, for an experiment the two had in mind. She peered down at the black cat, and gave her a small push, signaling to inch closer to the other pair. 

Usagi quickly grabbed a sample of popcorn from a nearby table, and slowly walked towards the creature, hoping she wasn’t going to startle it. She inched down, and stuck her hand out. She wasn’t sure if this critter was able to eat popcorn, but she was bound to find out right now.

“ Hi there... I don’t bite! Did you want some? It’s cheddar flavored! “

Usagi realized she had been staring too long at the girl near her. She couldn't help it though. Blue eyes swayed back and forth from the colored, unique outfit the other adorned, while staring back up at her kind expression. Clearly, they seemed like a sweet person.

A sweet person with a fantastic fashion sense. 

She walked over to the other, and quietly tapped them on the shoulder. Maybe the individual could help her find something that suits her and her figure. Usagi had been wanting to get rid of a lot of her old clothing anyways, since she had grown out of them. Maybe taking some fashion expertise from someone else could help her too?

" Excuse me! Do you mind me asking where you bought your outfit? It's very pretty and I've been wanting to expand my wardrobe, heh. "

Out of all the locations in Koi, it seemed her favorite place to visit was Sunflower Cafe. Every time she’d pop inside, everyone would greet her with the warmest of smiles. Not only did the atmosphere have such a wonderful vibe to it, but as did its workers and the owner. Overall, it gave her much joy to come inside, kick back with a cup of coffee and a tasty treat. If relaxing were a real (and acceptable) hobby, it would’ve been one of her favourites. ♥

“ Ahhhhhhhh, I could stay here all day, if I could! Unwind my heart away…! I feel so lucky to have discovered a comfort zone here. ”

She found her way onto the cafe’s veranda, looking around for a place to sit. It was quite popular in the morning, but especially when the afternoon was nearing. As she walked further in, she noticed there was a vacant seat open, along with another individual occupying the other half of the table. The guy present seemed to be alone, but Usagi knew better to ask if she could sit there. She didn't want to seem rude! So, she quietly walked over, and peered over the male’s shoulder, hoping she wasn’t interrupting anything.

“ Hi! Is this extra seat taken? ‘Cause not, I’d love to sit here with ya’! ”

” H-Hey! Excuse me! That’s my brooch! Give it back! ”

Usagi felt fumes coming out of her ears. It seemed someone else was currently holding her most prized possession in their hands; her golden brooch. She always had it with her, attached to whichever shirt she’d wear, each day. She never expected this sort of situation to occur, but it was possible. In fact, it was her fault for the mess. 

Earlier, she accidentally left it on the park bench she was sitting on. After leaving, Usagi roamed around the area, without noticing it wasn’t on her shirt. It was when she had looked down to pick up her keys that fell out from her pockets that she knew something was missing. 

The blonde ran back to the park, finding a figure sitting at the bench, marveling something gold in his hand. She really hoped he wasn't planning on keeping it. She charged right in front of the stranger, and stretched out her hand. If they didn’t give it back to her within the next few seconds, she was going to start a fit.

“ Please give it back! It’s really special to me. . . ! I need it! ”

Koi was filled with so many new faces. It felt too uncanny for the younger to take in. How was she expected to make new friends, just like that? She missed the sudden socialization she had back in Azabu-Juuban, where she was able to fully converse with someone she’d just met off the street in a flash. She had lived there long enough to be familiar with the people, the streets, the general surroundings. It kept her at ease. 

She wondered if she’d be able to still do that now, despite having fear creeping from behind. This wasn’t her first time being isolated from her loved ones, but she had hoped it would’ve never happened again. She didn’t want to befriend someone who’d end up chopping her head off or something along those lines. But that was just the slight paranoia kicking in.

Either way, being alone in a new city wasn’t going to stop her from finding her back to her apartment. She wasn’t planning on getting lost, but it seemed life had something else in mind.

“ Excuse me! Do you know where I get to Cappuccino Apartments from here? I seem to be a little lost....”

Usagi had been coming back from the market, a large bag in tow from impulsive sweets shopping. It had been a few days since she felt herself settling in at Cappuccino Apartments, and had wanted to celebrate with a dozen few treats; a couple of cookies, cupcakes, even a small vanilla cake in honor of making friends with her new roomie. She felt very accomplished, and truly felt like she was starting to get used to the city.

“ Ahhh, Luna…. I can’t wait to eat these chocolate chip cookies! Don’t worry, I’ll make sure to save you a few~” She chuckled, looking down at her feline friend. She shook her head at the cat’s sarcastic tone, and playfully stuck her tongue out. 

“ You’re just jealous most of it’s going towards m— OUCH! “

She felt something hit her right in the stomach, causing her to drop her bag on site. She didn’t know what more to be mad at— the fact she probably just broke some of the delicious goodies in the bag, or the fact she saw the item that had hit her was, in fact, a round yo-yo; accompanied by the presence of a young boy, throwing it around without a care in the world.

“ What do ya think you’re doing?! That really hurt, ya know! Waaaaah, my poor sweets! ”
