Sooo..... it’s been a minute-
I'm on vacation, and idk the fancy for drawing shit for my sw sapphic au came back <3 enjoy these little Boba Fett, officially the sexiest butch of the au as of this poll
And since it's been a while, might as well include the very serious au recap under the cut vvv
tell me when you want it come and get it
padmes queen voice being artificially lowered in post to sound like the origin for Vader's low pitch and accent is crazy it makes me crazy that he was in that suit learning how to be a person again in a medical torture device & was like i guess i will mimic my dead wife's intonation she used in her stint as child queen to legitimise myself as the emperor's freaky cyborg wizard sonwife
Clones with scars specifically in the space between their armour plates. A vibro-knife cut on the elbow. A burn scar on the back of the knee. A shard of shrapnel in the hip.
Clones in awe at the beauty of the wider galaxy but lacking the vocabulary to describe it. “It’s… it’s beautiful. It’s like… beautiful. Just so beautiful. It’s pretty. Um. It’s beautiful.”
Clones trying on civilian clothes and hating it because they’re so used to the armour being heavy and stiff. Soft stuff almost makes them feel naked, like they’re in their blacks.
Clones who chose to grow out their hair but have no idea how to look after it so it’s a complete frizzy mess that HAS to be tied back lest it go everywhere.
Clones with intensely scathing internal dialogues who are always super polite and compliant because mentally disintegrating their authority figures was the only way they could stave off the urge to go completely off the rails on Kamino.
Clones who have never figured out how to verbalise feelings (worsened by working with Jedi who can just… FEEL their feelings) making up their own terminologies. “I feel like… wet.” “What?” “On the inside.” “ew.” “No! Ok listen, not like that.”
Clones with lingering sun damage from the first time they took their helmets off on a desert world (nobody told them about sunscreen).
Clones having to learn what familial terms mean because what the kriff is an “aunt”?
Newly deployed clones being really awkward in any conversation that isn’t related to war because they’ve never spoken casually with anyone that doesn’t share their exact life experience.
An extension to the previous: clones mirroring the energy of whoever they’re talking to, to an unnerving extent, because they’re trying to learn how to socialise.
Clones in phase 1 armour with rough skin in the spots where it rubs really bad (This is canon btw. It’s not enough they’re at war, the Kaminoans also apparently can’t be arsed to tailor their gear)
Clones after the war being identifiable by the way they walk, because they still move like they have the armour on.
Ugh, Clones. I love them so much. Weird little tortured guys.
2 days ago I've watched Project Hail Mary (very impressive very beautiful I've been crying and laughing for whole fckn film), and when I've heard this maori song that i later learn was once used to farewell Maori WWI soldiers im kinda realized that I need to do something, bc firstly It made me so emotional while watching and secondly why shoud i even explain when it is a maori song related to the war in a space film of course i need to do something!!!
And my favorite ones :>

for every incel white man star wars dudebro there is a teenage lesbian with a slightly deeper and more obscure knowledge of star wars who will one day defeat him in battle
Barriss Offee is one of the most bizarrely intriguing characters I’ve ever seen. She has gifted kid burnout so bad she became a murderer. She’s Ahsoka’s gay best frenemy. They are exes who went through a bad breakup. They never dated. She lives in Ahsoka’s head rent-free for at least two years afterwards. She got traumatized on Geonosis, then resolved to face her fear, went back to Geonosis, and got double traumatized with a side of brain damage. Everyone thinks she’s green even though she’s yellow. Her diabolical plot fell apart because she told her co-conspirator how cool Ahsoka is. She speaks in six episodes. Her plotline has been left unresolved for ten years.
She’s an expert healer who’s greatest joy comes from saving lives. She somehow knows Force Choke. She’s a sweet girl who introduces herself by curtsying. She probably taught herself Force Choke. She wears a belt buckle with a big heart on it. She witnessed some of the ugliest battles of the Clone Wars. Jedi children get excited to see her. There was a comic where she tried and failed to protect a society of Furbies. There was a Legends novel where she got high as balls on medicinal space THC and tasted the universe. She uses her lightsaber to cut square holes. Literally nobody else does that. She’s afraid if she doesn’t go into battle, she’ll get a bad grade in war crimes. There’s obviously a lot wrong with her but everyone who notices either decides it’s not their problem, or says something to make her feel worse.
don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying watching clone wars, I like Ahsoka and am appreciating some of the world building, even though it's absolutely insane. also expanding on characters I love and characters I hadn't put much thought into is interesting. but I just can't wrap my mind around certain Anakin characterizations, and a lot of Anidala's dynamics in the show. it just doesn't make sense to me.
I'll continue to watch and enjoy the parts I enjoy, but I've come to the conclusion that besides me considering Ahsoka canon as Anakin's padawan, I just don't agree with some of the directions the show takes. Anakin just doesn't feel entirely Anakin. there's an uncertainty, genuine awkwardness, devoted intensity and a type of softness that's missing. or it's not shown well? imo? I also dislike the way they paint Padmé to seem exasperated with Anakin in certain moments, it feels wrong.
yes, of course Anakin and Padmé can and would suffer from conflict, they're a married couple, under copious amounts of stress, but something is just really off during certain scenes. their love is supposed to be all consuming, it's something mythical, that transcends. on both sides. the show doesn't mirror that.
I'll expand on my opinion much more once I've actually finished the show, and talk about specifics that bothered me but yeah. there are moments where I go "oh I really like that they show this side of Anakin– that reaction makes sense" or "yes more expression of his heroism, the goodness in his heart." and then moments where I go "wtf why would he say/do that. why would he react that way. why would Padmé say/do that. they would never say that." and be left feeling unsettled.
I'm just very picky when it comes to Anidala especially. I'll try to wrap my mind around other Anakin characterizations even if I don't like or agree with them, since I know he's present in so many different pieces of sw media, I just won't consider it (head?)canon, but I'm touchy about Anidala.
layed on beach and thought about cody today ... bought matcha latte and thought about cody today... ate poke bowl for lunch and thought about cody today ...
What is it like to be a clone? To grow up as a clone? Do you understand how different you are? Do you know that you grow too fast and that’s why your legs hurt so much? If your trainer is a Mandalorian who scarcely takes their helmet off, or a non-human, does it even occur to you that other humans might not look like your brothers? That you might be set apart from the people outside Kamino in some trivial way by virtue of there being millions of others who look just like you? Sound like you? March like you?
Do you understand that you’re being abused? Controlled? Do you speak up? Are the clones who speak up disposed of? Are they reconditioned? Are they returned to their batchmates, the same, but horribly different? Do the rest understand that this is wrong? How much of Jango’s nature persists in the cadets and young troopers on Kamino? Do they rebel? Do they even consider it? Are there little pockets of unrest constantly sparking and dying in the depths of Tipoca city? Do they band together? Do they say “if he goes, we all go”, or do they simply let things happen because That Is How It Has Always Been?
Do they know that other people do not grow up running drills? Do they know that the correct word for a juvenile human is “child”, and not “cadet”? Have the infantry cadets ever seen a clear blue sky? Do they know how to button a shirt? Are any of them, outside the scuba corps, taught to swim? Do they understand that they are artificial?
When do they realise their true purpose? When they’re junior cadets? When they’re senior cadets? When they graduate? On their first deployment? Do they understand, truly understand, what Death is? Not being decommed, not being “disappeared”, but the smell of blood and the lives of the only people they’ve ever loved slipping through their fingers?
Do they grow up dreaming of glory, of their hard work and suffering finally paying off once they get out there to fulfil their ‘purpose’, only to touch down on Geonosis and have their entire world fall down around them? That the drills, the decommissionings, the reconditionings, the abuse, were not to make them capable. They were to make them obedient. Good soldiers, follow orders.
Do some of them still persist, in their fading dreams of fulfilment? Do some of them push through the war, striving constantly for something, anything to justify what’s been done to them? They learn from the natborns and the Jedi and the civvies that what they’ve been through was Hell and they NEED to find a way to make it all worth it, there has to be a way. And then Order 66 comes through. And the Purpose. The Purpose becomes as clear as the kyber within the sabers of the Jedi who have been mercilessly slaughtered at their hands. And maybe, for some, the ones who held out hope, there is simply Nothing Left, anymore.
just had a really good mango it was so good that i had to illustrate how it made me feel afterwards.
