This is my Star Wars blog, where I talk to myself about whatever I'm currently hyper-fixated on, that usually being the original trilogy, prequels, Anakin Skywalker, SW Legends, or Anidala.
#★ = my posts.
⟢ I'm a big Anakin Skywalker fan, and defender. His character means a lot to me.
⟢ I won't ever excuse or defend the atrocities Darth Vader commits, and consider Vader a separate character to Anakin– to a certain extent. That being said, he is my favorite villain.
⟢ I don't consider Disney Star Wars canon, I create my own headcanon mixed with all sorts of Legends media, but I still enjoy parts of it. Especially Andor. My canon: The Prequels, Original Trilogy, and their film novelizations.
(Please keep in mind I openly talk about my opinions and takes, enjoy headcanons, am an Anakin - not Vader - defender, and dislike confrontation, so if you're unkind or confrontational, I'll most likely block or ignore for my own comfort. I also have terrible memory, so I'm sorry if I miss a reply! Otherwise I'm very open & friendly.)
I'd appreciate if you check my Carrd(under con.) before following!
and i'm sure there was a confused suspicion from obi-wan when he noticed a shift in his prior-padawan's hair– from the choppy padawan cut to thick, voluminous and shining locks. anakin insists he's simply using a new product. "and since when do you care about coruscanti beauty products and hair care?" but in the end obi-wan lets it go, because it's just another one of those obvious things.
compared to practically everyone else in tpm, obi-wan treated and thought terribly of jar jar. if you take the novelization into account, it helps make more clear how hostile and dismissive he really was of him. when the gungans tell qui-gon that they plan to "pound" jar jar to death, for breaking his banishment, in which he broke to bring the jedi to safety– obi-wan tries to shake his head at qui-gon, to imply not to help. he then gets angry afterwards about it– frustrated with qui-gon, speaking badly and coldly about it in front of jar jar. that's when he says "pathetic life-form". and during this, his internal monologue is his concern for the mission, and doing as the council advises. he doesn't want to save jar jar since there's risk, and no reward.
this is qui-gon's view on how obi-wan differs from him, the context being him thinking of how obi-wan will react to learning about annie:
Star Wars really said "Anakin Skywalker had issues rooted in childhood trauma that was not his fault" but also "Anakin made his own choices as an adult for which he alone is responsible" but ALSO "In spite of the truly evil things he chose to do Anakin was still capable of being loved and redeemed" and I think that's important.
the best scene in the empire strikes back is when darth vader enters the rebel base on hoth and the imperial march is playing and it’s supposed to be a menacing entrance but it’s just him walking trying not to trip over the rubble and having no idea where to go
truly wonderful to see people call anakin "disability coded" when he is very very explicitely disabled. like i get what you mean. but he is actually disabled. he doesn't have an arm. why do people forget he doesn't have an arm. honestly it's a shame how his physical disability isn't really considered in fandom conversations around him. that's also why I really fw brotherhood and the wild space novel. they finally give some insight as to how he felt about losing a limb, and also what that meant for him considering possible negative jedi views about having a mechanical arm and a bit on how he recovered. I can't speak for people with that kind of disability but I wish that anakin's mechanical arm wasn't just treated in a "oh! too bad he lost an arm! well he can just get an exactly identical one except now he wears a cool glove and nothing else changed!" way cause it definitely did impact his character a lot. same for luke in many ways. I get where people are coming from and I don't mean this maliciously at all but also they ARE disabled people forget that a lot.
