‘ FUCK YES ‘ - from Peter cause I enjoy seeing Lillith blush (starlordexpress)

“I-… You-…. Me… I have to go the bathroom for a second.” Quickly fleeing to the bathroom, the blush on her cheeks has turned from a dark pink to a dark red and by the time she has locked the cubicle door, she is already internally screaming and fist pumping the air. She would come back five minutes later, everyone still staring at her as she slowly walks up to Peter mumbling “thank you” and waddles quickly back to her desk, the doubting thoughts now circling her mind of did he actually mean it? was it a pity fuck yes? was it a prank?The circle was complete.

He watched Lillith as she went to the bathroom and endured the silence while she was gone. He hadn’t meant it as an insult but a compliment but part of him now feared she thought she was the same as all his previous lovers. When she returned he tried to talk to her but her small reply had him smiling as she left to sit down. His eyes caught that of Tony and watched as he glared, “What? What did I say?”

She cooed and patted him as he tried to slowly get up. Her trying to help him by dusting him off gently was her way of her showing she was there and cared, without invading his personal space. “That’s sweet of you but please- oh, you’re up.” She watched him carefully rise before he took a  quick stumble, Lillith throwing herself in front of him  to stop him falling, his hands holding onto her waist. They both They both looked up in unison, Lillith’s nose twitching at the smell at the smell of alchol. “Hi”, she chuckled quietly. “you okay?” Internally she was screaming at the contact.

Peter smiled as he looked down at Lillith and even when she questioned him the man barely noticed. He was too busy staring at her features and reaching a hand up to smooth back her slightly tousled hair.  Once he finished he kept his hand on the small of her  neck and continued to look at her, “How’re you so  damn pretty?”

“Who?” He let out another laugh in disbelief. What the hell was Quill talking about? Must be some alien thing. Krieg. Kraig? Whatever. He sipped from his beer and raised his brows.

“Any special occasion you’re celebrating? Getting married? Getting un-married?”

“Kraglin. He’s a friend of mine and I think he’s human? Can’t be sure though.” he had become so used to names like that becoming a norm that he forgot some people might think it’s an alien planet or something. 

He laughed lightly as he took another sip of his own drink, “Celebrating being back here I guess. Won’t be on Earth for long but it’s kinda good to be back.” Even if it hurt a little.

“It’s a kind of makeup,” she clarified with a smirk. “Surely they have that kind of stuff or something similar to it in the places you visited.” His surging confidence came off a little comical with the buzz she had, but she knew he probably was just as much so when he was sober.

“Course they do but just not that one.” he looked her up and down before crossing his arms, “So you’re from Earth? Whereabouts?” He barely got to meet people from home and he was curious to see how much had changed.

“Booze makes everyone feel a little beautiful,” Zephine giggled. “Still, the glossy eyes and rosy cheeks. Maybe it’s Mabeline, maybe it’s the 5th of tequila you’ve had.”

“Sweetheart, I don’t just feel a little beautiful. I feel very beautiful and I know I am even if it’s the shots talking.” Peter sat back and enjoyed the taste of Terran alcohol for the first time in awhile. He’d only ever been able to get it a few times out there but this was the good stuff. “What even is mabeline?”

Scott let out a laugh, his teeth flashing for once as he shook his head and looked down at his own glass. It’s been a while since he’s actually gone out, much less to drink, and he couldn’t help but feel that small bit of anxiety that comes with a new yet familiar experience of socializing.

“You? I mean, you know what you actually look like? On the way to wasted. All without letting me catch up.”

He raised his glass.

“That’s pretty damn rude if I do say so myself.”

“Well then catch up. I’ve been rude my whole life and it’s not going to change because of you.” Peter squinted at his now empty glass and reached over the bar to poor himself another whiskey before the bartender noticed. 

“In all honesty it’s taken a lot to get me to this point. Been so used to drinking whatever shit Krag would find. I should smuggle some down for you to try. One glass of that and you would be way ahead of me.”

“Good… Peter!” But it was too late, Peter was gone only to be quickly tripped by nothing and on the floor. At least she wasn’t running in these heels. He looked up at her with a drunken, cute, a d o r a b l e grin. She tried to remain cool and collected but her  heart skipped a little. “Are you okay, honey? I mean, Peter. Come on. Let’s get you up!”

“That hurt.” he noticed that she called him Honey but decided not to comment upon it  in his inebriated state. “Hold on I don’t want  to knock you down.” he slurred as he gripped  onto the wall next to him and slowly rose. When  he stood he tripped forward slightly and grabbed  Lillith’s waist for support. When he looked up their  faces were close and he smiled, “Hey there.”

“Why’d he ask you to do something like that? I can hold my own even if Yondu doesn’t think so. On that note, have a drink!”

“Okay...psyche!” As soon as he turned Peter tripped on what seemed to be nothing. After he landed the man looked up at  Lillith with a drunken grin, “Oops?”

“Doesn’t change the fact that I look good. Question is why aren’t you drunk right now?”

“No, I’m Lil-.” Yondu had been walking down the hallway after Peter before he had seen the silly Catalic girl talking to him. He rolled his eyes into the back of his head at Lillith’s blatant ignorance already. “He’s talking race, sweetheart.” As soon as Yondu spoke directly to her, Lillith gave him her fullest attention, she knew the consequences if she didn’t look like she was, which meant she wasn’t really paying attention when the Terran boy went around her and pulled her tail until she felt the tug. Admittedly she was young; the only times tails were an issue for her people were getting trapped in doors and in horrid people’s grasps (luckily Lillith only had the door situation) but it still hadn’t prepared her for the gentle yank that brought tears automatically to her eyes. It had really stung. She bit her lip in pain, as her eyes began to well up and as the boy grew closer to her, asking her a billion questions at full speed about her race which Lillith was struggling to keep up with, he even sniffed the air and suddenly very young Lillith felt gross, hurt and upset. Maybe he wasn’t a new friend. “Er… I…” She sniffed back her tears. Yondu was feeling himself already regretting the two meeting. Lillith could only play nice and this Terran boy was full of annoying questions but they both talk so much, he thought they would be perfect for each other. That was before Lillith opened her mouth, bravely sniffing back up all her unreleased tears and stated like she had practiced it a thousand times at the same speed as the boy asked; “I’m Lillith and I’m a Catalic! And you can’t pull my tail because that really hurts so quit it! What’s a dog? Or are you referring to Rohfers? They’re sometimes called Dogs! And yes I love fish and water! But I prefer milk and n o, I do not smell. I bathe regularly.” She looked back up at Yondu, calmly before he could see the tears immediately leaking out her eyes. “My tail stings.” For fuck’s sake.

Peter looked at the girl who called herself Lillith as well as Catalic and smirked. She countered back his questions with some of her own but mainly answers. He watched as Yondu’s face grew more and more irritated with a smirk. This girl was someone who irritated Yondu and he liked her for that. “Okay I won’t pull your tail anymore. A dog is another animal in Terra that cats don’t normally like. Also you do smell a bit but not like a dirty smell just a weird one.”  Annoyingly the girl smelt nice and Peter felt himself leaning towards her smell. This girl though was another alien in this big new place he had been brought too. Peter marched ahead of them both before looking back to Lillith, “Do you wanna go play or not?” He wasn’t particularly good at keeping friends back on Terra so he was sure that wouldn’t change now but he still wanted to learn more about this girl. It was the first time in his life he had ever met a cat lady.  Yondu could already feel a headache coming on so the idea of the two of them leaving for a bit was almost a relief. He would still need someone else to watch them so after putting his second in command on babysitting duty he went on his way and left the two kids to have their fun. It wouldn’t be long until they had to start training.

Lillith’s relief was short lived when she failed to see a visitor badge or even a worker’s badge on the man’s chest and the chill on her spine had grown bigger and demanded to be felt and she was getting slightly scared at the whole ordeal of being alone in a hallway with him. She had pretty much met every man, woman or bastard child of Tony’s that worked in this building and she’d think she would remember bumping into this man but when he stuck out his hand, Lillith immediately took it stupidly with a warm smile, a reflex from being Tony’s assistant for so long. This was probably some big misunderstanding was her reasoning. Some B I G misunderstanding. “Well, it’s lovely to meet you Quill. Mister Quill. Could I perhaps help? What exactly seems to be the issue?” And then he mentioned the Walkman. Her eyes looked down to it, the music still playing out of it had now changed to a different song and she gazed back up at the man. He couldn’t be-… Could he? The ship was alien though, this man clearly was not. Unless it was some disguising technique that the aliens could do. Fascinating- Wait no! Terrifying! This man was part of the ship’s crew that had jumped ship before the crash! He was an alien… and he wanted the Walkman….? That was a little far fetched. She held the Walkman closer. “Where I found this Walkman was a secluded and private area so I doubt it is yours but I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt if you can list every song on this tape, Mister Quill.” She hit the elevator button to go up and waited patiently. “And don’t say it’s impossible. This tape has been played many times, I can tell.”

Peter wanted to try and convince her that he wasn’t a threat because he honestly wasn’t. Earth was his home but when humans saw a big alien space ship they tended to freak out. He put his hand on the doors so she couldn’t go up and coughed slightly, “The tape name is super mix volume one i’ve had it since I was a little kid. Now the songs are in order staring from hooked on a feeling by Blue Swede, total classic. Follow by go all the way, spirit in the sky and moonage daydream. David Bowie is just a legend no doubt about it. Fooled around and fell in love, classic ladies song. I’m not in love, come get your love, cherry bomb, escape and O-o-oh child.”  The man took a deep breath as he finished the songs in perfect order and smiled, “Come and get your love has to be one of my favourite songs though.” He held out an expectant hand waiting for her to give him his walkman, “Once I have this back I will be on my way.”

That wasn’t the answer that she had been expecting when she had shown up on Peter’s dock.  Kalmera had come as soon as she found out that he was back on her planet.  They were excellent wing companions and a night out with him always ended well for her without actually ending up in his bed, to the disbelief of many of her other friends.

They never had deep discussion so she wasn’t surprised that he had forgotten one crucial fact about her.  Kalmera had never been very good at following directions.  She saw the expression on her friend’s face and she knew that she wouldn’t be listening to him this time either.  “Well I guess we’ll just drink here then.”  Without waiting for his approval, she pushed past him to walk onto his ship.

Her stubbornness should have been expected but he didn’t object to her walking past. Instead he sighed and followed, “You know I won’t be fun right? I don’t feel like it.” It wasn’t the first time he had been like this. The others didn’t even know the significance of this day for him. Peter wasn’t one to seek sympathy from others.  Even so he sat down at the table and looked up at her. She had always been a good friend of his regardless of the distance and how long it took him to return for a visit. “So, why aren’t you in there? You could’ve come tomorrow.”
