what are your thoughts on Cho or/and Charry?
i think harry & cho were kids woefully unequipped to deal with both their own and each other’s trauma, and i think they weren’t terribly well-matched as far as romance goes. which isn’t an evaluation of their respective characters (how or why a subset of the fandom ended up hating cho i will never understand), i just think the books make it pretty clear that their brief relationship is mostly based on fleeting infatuation. at least on harry’s part.
so in that sense i don’t ship them, and i don’t think we were ever supposed to, but you know, if you happen to, go bonkers. i actually don’t mind that they were an item in the books - if anything i appreciated that we got a kind of realistic take on a mutual crush-of-sorts that just doesn’t go very far beyond that. they’re teenagers, they’re bad at dating, they’re not compatible, it’s awkward, and the whole thing stumbles to an end pretty quickly. happens.
plus, harry gets to catch a break from all his life-or-death worries and angst about normal teenage stuff for a change, and i was blessed with the mental image of grumpy fifteen-year-old captain capslock getting a load of heart-shaped confetti dumped over his head while at madam puddifoot’s. that date was a fucking disaster and i hate it for him but i love it for me. hilarious. poor harry.
i like to think they remained friendly into adulthood and laugh about it now. their wives get on great.
