i thought of a story where sebastian tricks ciel into marriage, but that’s literally the plot of kuro.
if ciel decides not to be with sebastian, then god help anyone who tries to date him. ciel is the most demanding, selfish, and high-maintenance boyfriend imaginable, and sebastian has set the bar far too high by being at his beck and call for every little thing. no one could ever measure up to him.
about the "yana first comes up with a specific situation for the characters, and then writes the rest of the story to fit it" do you ever think about how the library scene is exactly this?
there was absolutely no reason for them to meet in the library instead of, as usual, in sebastian’s office. mr. michaelis is their teacher, and ciel is the student who transferred in the middle of the school year. it’s completely natural that he would be trying to catch up through private tutoring. on top of that, he was already spending most of his time there anyway.
yana just wanted to draw ciel wrapping his arms around sebastian and sebastian covering his mouth, and who cares about the rest.
i get the feeling that, given how close sebastian and ciel are now, there won’t be any awkwardness between them when ciel hits that hormonal phase. when sebastian comes in to wake him up one morning and sees his morning erection, he’ll want to tease him, thinking he’ll blush bright red.
“you’re quite lively this morning, my lord.”
but ciel will look him straight in the eye and simply say, “deal with it.”
“pardon?” sebastian will even be taken aback, because, yes, he dresses and bathes him every day, but this is a different sort of task, one that certainly doesn’t fall within a butler’s duties.
“it’s your duty to look after me, isn’t it? so get on with it,” he’ll reply, lifting his nightgown up
haha guys remember when sebastian ordered ciel to take off his clothes in front of a bunch of people and then made him put on his coat with nothing underneath it and then teased him about how big it was on him. because I remember

HELLO!! I wanted to ask you, how did you fall in love with this peak ship (i mean how/when did you start to like the ship Sebaciel?) I SHIP THEM TOO AND I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!!! Ijust wanted to know this silly question (///ω///)
And...if i can ask you another question...did you create/imagined Sebaciel kids? If yes, could you tell me about them? 😊
(WARNING: RAMBLING AHEAD)
🖤🩵💙❤️
Oh Nice! Hi!
I started shipping Sebaciel as part of the original anime fandom back in 2008, ironically the same age as Ciel. Back then, much of the English speaking fandom did not know that the manga even existed, and our introduction was only through the DVD anime release. (A side note, but I watched the first Black Butler Season on a Netflix DVD sent to my house. How times have changed.)
The fandom was also different then, you’d get a meme here about them or a fanfic on deviant art there but nothing laborious. There was more of a tolerance to “queerbaiting” in anime, of a “Will they Won’t they” situation, but for 2008 standards their relationship was Highly Implied.
Originally, when I watched the first season I was rather troubled at how it ended so abruptly.
Then, I watched the second season which answered none of the first season’s questions, and left me even more confused.
I wanted them to go on more adventures together, get into more hijinks, solve mysteries and slowly depend on each other.
I wasn’t apart of the Black Butler fandom afterwards, oblivious that there were new shows, multiple musical adaptations, and that the manga it was based off of was a continuous series.
So when the knowledge hit 17 years later that yes, your favorite pairing canonically goes to Germany, is in a boyband, solves murder mysteries in their own house, and sails the high seas, my heart could not be fuller, and I dedicated this blog to them and the amazing talented artists who love Sebaciel too.
Their relationship dynamic, themes, and metaphors resonated with me. I love that they rub off on each other’s (yeah, that too) personalities, and make each other both better and worse for it. I’m weak when it comes to Faustian romances, so Sebaciel ticks off all of the boxes!
It’s an oddly comforting yet complex ship that has stayed with me for over 18 years and still feels brand new with each fan interpretation and each new chapter release. Having survived through similar ordeals as Ciel at the same age (thus not really having time to engage in the fandom as much), I view Sebaciel sort of like an iconography of resistance. I could go on and on why I love these two together so much, but I realized that whatever I ended up writing would be too short or not encapsulate enough, so I created an entire blog instead (:
In short, I love my little guys.
As for Sebaciel children, unfortunately I don’t have any headcannons on what their kids would be like. It seemed too sad for me to imagine because, would Sebastian have to tenderly raise his tiefling children alone after the contract was complete, cutting crust off of sandwiches and longing what was? Or the opposite, and try to replace Ciel in an Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho grooming situation. Would Ciel even want children after cursing and damning the world as a kid himself? Or would this be in the season 2 au where both Ciel and Sebastian are demons and raise a family together? Do they adopt children together to raise, or does Sebastian already see his fellow servants as their kids? Many questions to ponder 🤔
This was probably not the reply you expected, but I hope it answered your question. I’m so happy that there are fans who love Sebaciel and Kuroshitsuji as much as I do. Happy Pride 🖤🩵💙❤️
book of murder is so funny to rewatch because sebastian and ciel are just 4d chess flirting the entire time
Once when I was in undergrad, someone described something as “problematic” in class and our professor was like, “That’s cool, but ‘problematic’ doesn’t really mean anything. It means that the thing you’re describing has a problem, and in and of itself that’s not bad. Art, especially, should always have problems, or else it’s not interesting and not art, either. It sounds like you’re trying to say that this is bad, but you don’t want to say ‘bad.’ Is that right?”
So from then on whenever one of us called something problematic, he would make us talk it out until we could name the “bad” thing we were hinting at. In this particular class, 7/10 it was some type of oppression, and the remainder was like, “I’m uncomfortable because this is very new/confusing/pushing boundaries that made me feel safe.”
Once we stopped calling things “problematic” and stopping at that, class got way more interesting and... we all had to say, like, “that’s racist” or “that’s misogynistic” or “ew capitalism gross” out loud, which a lot of us had never done in a classroom before. Or we had to be like, “Uhhh... I’m not sure what’s so bad?” and confront our own beliefs and that was maybe even more useful.
Anyway. Whenever I see the word problematic, I can’t help but think of this professor being like, “Good starting point, now let’s get specific.” I think when we have to commit to saying “that’s ___” it requires a lot more careful thought about the truth and impact and complexities of whatever we’re claiming. Sometimes there really is some bullshit afoot, and also sometimes it’s art, and it should be full of problems, because that’s what art is.
HAPPY PRIDE MONTH SEBACIEL!!!
modri is the “i can change him” type. ciel is the “i don’t want to change him” type and ended up changing sebastian either way
