my favourite part of the teaser is that lestat is actually relatively mellow for most of it, like he takes louis’ teasing fairly goodnaturedly and talks about painful topics without spiralling or lashing out. even when he’s genuinely extremely upset by the book thing, he’s clearly trying to process it in his own way and even attempts to communicate his hurt instead of just getting vicious. but then he hears armand’s name from across the room and you can pinpoint the precise moment Hysterical Cunt Lestat logs back on. those two syllables are all it takes before he’s visibly deciding to be crazy again, and the very next thing he does is scream in a stranger’s face then storm out. after which point presumably he went straight home to flush his mood stabilisers and shred his DBT workbook with his teeth, because mommy dearest is BACK and she’s ready to be WORSE THAN EVER!

January's @2026-book-bingo report! Last year's bingo encouraged me to read quite a few books I might not have considered otherwise, and I enjoyed almost all of them. I'm excited to keep that energy up with this year's bingo.

01. Cultural Nonfic: Nalu: History, Legends, and Wisdom from 1,000 Years of Hawaiian Surfing by Marie Alohalani Brown and Ian Lendler

I got a digital ARC of this on a whim, and I have already put in a pre-order for it for its release in August. A fascinating overview of Hawaiian surfing history, culture, language, and ecology, but also so much more. It also has stunning photographs and art, new translations of Hawaiian poetry and legends, overviews of famous surfers, and dives into other topics that cannot be divorced from surfing such as open sea navigation and board creation and life guards and the effects of colonialism/American imperialism. Fascinating stuff! It also has a list of suggestions for further reading as well as nonprofits to support surfing, which I appreciate. Every single page is bursting with an obvious love of surfing and an eagerness to share that love. Frankly, it's one of the longest love letters I've read, and I loved every page right back.

02. Read + Play a TTRPG: Echoes of the Tide by @galaxycryptidart

My first time ever playing a solo TTRPG! I'm someone who thrives with a writing prompt and loves selkie stories, so this was the perfect thing to do while snowed in. The prompts were a good balance of fishing village life and The Mysterious Amnesia Drama, as well as introspective moments and socialization, which was really nice. I had a lot of fun coming up with stuff and fleshing out the village, which was extra nice since I'm in a bit of a writer's block at the moment, and the story came together in a really satisfying way. Thanks for sharing your TTRPG for free, galaxycryptidart! I really enjoyed it. I will also definitely be playing more solo TTRPGs going forward, super glad I finally tried this one out.

Hes a pirate captain, he is a run away prince, the youngest out of 8 siblings, falls in love very easily and has been married 4 times (they only lasted between a few weeks to 6 months) always ended on good terms. (Hes also pansexual)

Ravi also likes his appearance and likes to dress flashy (he dresses almost glamrock).

Hes not too sure what hes doing with his pirate stuff.
