Some more TND Headcanons because I need a distraction!

Heres a quick rundown of general facts about my version of the TND:

- It is possible for someone who wasn’t in the KND to be recruited into the Teens Next Door. It’s also possible for someone who has been decommissioned to be accepted.

- The TND will take entire sectors of the KND into their ranks if they are incredibly remarkable. Sector V has already been pre-accepted as members (Sector Z would have all been in the TND too….if they had made it to teenhood)

- The GKND is aware of the TND, but has failed at making any attempts to either infiltrate it or hack into it. The TND isn’t aware of the GKND (not completely, at least. Some of them suspect something is up)

- The TND know about the Adults Next Door, but they have next to no clue who their agents are.

- The TND doesn’t really have a main headquarters in the sense that the KND does. Each country has its own “main” headquarters, and each city has its own mini-headquarters. The US one is located in the Mall of America.

- The TND’s technology is an odd mix between 2x4, Teen Ninja Tech, and Adult Tech. They have dubbed it “Teenz Tech” (Have I mentioned these guys aren’t great with naming things?).

- There are some TND memebers who only use 2x4. Theres some who will only use Adult Tech. Everyone has their own tech styles.

- If a TND member gets found out, they are sent to “decommissioning” (In reality they just fake it and hope that works)

- Most Sectors don’t have as many spies as they do Mission Operatives. Cleve Sector is one of the exepection due to the increase ninja activity.

Now, here’s some miscellaneous facts about the TND:

- Dares are taken extremely seriously in the TND. It is taboo to back out of a dare.

- The same is true for Never Have I Ever and Two Truths and a Lie

-They’ve made a Date, Marry, Kill list of Adult villains (minus the absolute scum of the Earth villains like Father, Chester, or Mr Boss). They aren’t seriously considering dating any of the villains, they’re just bored.

- Spoiling movies or shows is like, a cardinal sin within the TND that can get you stuck on Keyboard duty for a day.

- Most Sectors have a gaming night, which can get pretty competitive. Mario Kart and Mario Party are both common choices.

- KND operatives are given nicknames based on famous characters, so it makes it harder for enemies to know who they are talking about.

- The same applies to villains. Cree Lincoln is oftentimes given the codename “She-Ville”

And finally, a funny Cleve Sector one:

- Monopoly is banned from game nights in the Cleve Sector after Noelani and Chad got into a fist fight over it and broke a table

Day 6 (not really it’s been more but I don’t really care at this point) of my version of the TND. Again, sorry about the lack of posting. Work has been…well a lot, and I’ve been in a bit of a mental funk lately. I’ve also been focusing on writing a little bit more (I have one whole fic and the start to a longer one posted on AO3!) I finished this drawing before we got to that point, and it’s honestly the one that looks like the show the least, but I’m happy with how it turned out so it’s fine.

Today, we have another OC (Sorry about that folks, the actual show gives me very few teens to work with). We’re getting another Iris sibling today. And, for once, a decent chunk of this drawing isn’t edited and is my own art! There are few pieces that were edited (which I will show under the post as usually), but as usual, any of that edited art belongs to the crew of the KND! Overall, she will probably get less focus than some of the other TND members, but she’s still one of my favorite OCs so here we go.

It’s time for me to introduce you to Eleanor Iris, the older sister of Nicky. She was formerly known as Numbuh 99.7, formerly the Combat Expert of Sector V before being transferred to Numbuh 100’s second-in-command. After her “decommissioning”, she became a member of the Cleve Division of the TND under the name Cupid. She acts both as a Teen Spy and a memeber of the Mission Squad. Her main focus is Cree Lincoln and The Steve, with her only ever making direct contact with the KND whenever she’s with the two. However, she is not a part of the Ninjas, and doesn’t really interact with them either. Like Nicky, her personality is going to be hard for me to direct onto paper, so I’m going to do my best here. Eleanor, to put it lightly, is a stress monster. She stresses over her friends, her family (especially her younger sister), her life. There’s very little this girl doesn’t stress about. However, while she is stressed super easily, Eleanor is a super caring and sweet. She knows how to take a joke, and is willing to throw one back. She also tends to be the least likely to verbally fight with others. She, however, tends to hold a grudge, and whenever she does get angry (which isn’t often), she gets ANGRY. Again, she’s easier to explain in my head.

Heres some fun facts about him:

- She’s the oldest of the Cleve Sector, since she’s 16, and her pronouns are she/her

- This lady is very much Bi. She, at one point, had a crush on both Numbuh 11 and Numbuh 100. She gets teased a lot for this fact.

- She goes by “Ellie” as a spy, and “Nell” by her true friends.

- She was born without an arm.

- She was accepted into the TND after Numbuh 100 refused the request. She was originally only supposed to be a Mission Squad memeber. Her being a spy ended up happening much later

- Back when she was younger, she had a relationship with her older sister that is similar to Cree and Abby’s.

- Nell has really complicated feelings about Cree. The fact that Cree is acting like her older sister is driving her insane, but she cant help but miss who she used too be.

- She hates Stacey, and Stacey hates her back. It’s honestly kind of funny how much they hate each other.

- Nell is the tallest member of the TND and of her siblings. She one time hid all of Nicky’s important mission files on top of the fridge where he couldn’t reach so he would go to sleep

- Nell actively hates the taste of deep fried anything. The texture makes her gag anytime she eats it.

- Nell has a really bad habit of eavesdropping on things she shouldn’t be.

The red headed teen girl we’re introduced to in Operation Maurice is next, but after that idk (I’ve gotta look through some more background Teens for ideas), but this will probably be it for little bit. Sorry if this wasn’t explained well.

And I’m back for day 5 (technically its been more but eh). Sorry about the wait! My job started and I have been extremely busy because of that. As always, the pictures I used are from the show, just edited a bit. And today’s victim character especially has barely been changed because his original design is honestly one of my favorites. So, all credits go to the show’s artists! Let’s get going

Finally, here he is folks! The one, the only, Maurice Payton! As we all know, formerly he was known as Numbuh 9, the former strategist and combat expert of Sector V. After being “decommissioned” by the KND, he became a member of the Cleve Division of the TND under the name “Herald”. He has two important jobs; he is one of two teens who personally spies on Cree Lincoln, and he is a Mission Operative as well, oftentimes working along with Chad or Bethany whenever they are free. He doesn’t contanct many people from the KND, but he is still in contact with Numbuh 5. Maurice, like in the show, is super kind to everyone he meets. He loves working with kids, and wants to be a teacher some day. He also is super loyal, incredibly smart, and super strong. Everyone loves working with him, and he often times acts as a sane man. However, he isn’t without his flaws. Maurice gets super embarrassed super fast, and tends to be one of the more emotional members of his team, which can sometimes be a massive hindrance. He, ironically, has a hard time keeping secrets whenever he is put under distress or he sees others upset. He tends to be really awkward around his fellow teens that he isn’t actually friends with, since a lot of the time he is putting up an act around them. He also has a terrible sense of direction, which was part of the reason his Chicken Pox island mission took too long.

Heres some fun facts

- Maurice, in my AU, is 15. The events at the beginning of Operation M.A.U.R.I.C.E are a flashback in my AU. His pronouns are he/him

- This man is aroace. He has absolutely no intrest in dating, instead he’s more focused on creating deep, long lasting friendships

- He has reveled the identity of the TND to three different kids. Take your guesses on who they are lol

- One time the TND surprised him with a homemade cake for his birthday and he cried about it for an entire hour.

- Maurice lives with his mother and stepdad. He has a younger step sister. His mother and father are still on good speaking terms, and he sees him often.

- Maurice and Chad arent as close as you would think they are. Chad’s attitude keeps him at a distance from his fellow TND operatives, and Maurice REALLY doesn’t like how Chad treats Numbuh 1. It reminds him too much of how Cree and Abby can get. He’s the closest with Bethany and Nicky out of everyone.

- After his first day in the TND, he managed to get lost and end up in Canada after trying to get home from their hideout. They aren’t anywhere near Canada

- Maurice always though Numbuh 1 was extremely impressive when he was in training, and was excited to see him become Sector V’s leader

- Numbuh 2 and Maurice get along super well. They share a love of the dramatics and old tv dramas, so they were close during their brief period of overlap. Maurice is half-tempted to spill the beans to him too, mostly because it would be nice if Numbuh 5 had someone to share the knowledge with and due to his tech prowess (if it hadn’t been for the fact Nicky already threatened to put him on Comm duty for a month if he accidentally told another kid. Sigh)

- He didnt really get to know Numbuh 3 and Numbuh 4 before he was Decommissioned, but he thinks that both of them are hilarious

- He is Numbuh 2 and Numbuh 5’s biggest shipper.

- This man is a theater kid. He takes acting classes. He quotes Broadway musicals. Sue me

- Maurice was geniunely friends with Cree before her betrayal. He still has no honest clue what happened, or why she is acting so differently. All he knows is that she wasn’t the same after Numbuh 100 and Numbuh 99.7 (oc) were decommissioned.

This was hard. Like really hard. I hope this all makes sense for Maurice’s character, and I hope I did good with him. And, remember, he might be written differently then I explained. I hope everyone has a great night! Next up, Numbuh 99.7, aka Eleanor.

Ok, so here’s a fun question: Why have I taken so long to get to Maurice? You know, the character who introduced us to the TND? Well, this is gonna be a bit of a rant on that.

Before we start; THIS IS NOT A DISS ON ANYONE WHO LIKES MAURICE AS HE IS NOW! This is just my opinion.

Ok so let’s start this off with a hot take: Maurice as a concept is super interesting. Maurice as a character we got in the show is super boring. Seriously. He shows up in two episodes total with a speaking role later into the series. We don’t really learn what he likes, dislikes, nothing really about him. What we do learn is 1.) He was in Sector V with Cree and Abby 2.) He left to go find the chicken pox virus’s source 3.) He became a member of the TND as a spy and 4.) Both Cree and Abby have a crush on him. Do we learn about his parents? Does he has any hobbies? Allergies? What made him such a great operative if he was off tracking down a virus for 3 years? What was his original role in Sector V? Nope! Nothing.

Another major issue with him is that his entire character revolves around Cree and Abby and them alone. I don’t think any other member of Sector V or even the KND ever really interacts with him outside the first couple bits of Operation M.A.U.R.I.C.E, where they don’t even explain his dynamic with the other sad members of Sector V! He doesn’t ever interact with the only other canon member of the TND, he doesn’t really interact with any teen but Cree. Why make his character so interesting in concept if you’re only going to have 2 characters constantly talk to him?

Another issue; his personality, or really lack their of. He’s a good KND operative, good at acting, courageous and kind, and protective of Abby. He legit has no flaws, no real interesting points of his personality. Like, what makes him mad? What makes him happy? Does he have a sense of humor? If you took out Maurice and replaced him with any of the background teens it would make just as much sense because he legit doesn’t have much of a personality.

Who do I blame for this? The show runners, of course. They wanted to do something nice for Mo Willems leaving, but instead of doing anything intresting with the character they dumped him for several episodes before he showed up again for pointless reasons. It’s one thing I absolutely hate about this show; why bring such cool characters into the show only to use them once or twice? Like The Kid! Or Numbuh 10! Or Sector X! Seriously why does this keep happening????

Seriously, I love the idea of a super good KND operative fighting on so he can keep protecting kids. But oh my god was Maurice written poorly. Like honestly I feel bad for his character because I like him, I do! His design is super cool, his voice actor is amazing, and I really like how he uses a different type of weapon than what we are used to. But he’s just kind of boring personality wise.

So, with all that in mind, I’ve found it’s super hard to write Maurice. I don’t really know what to do with him personality wise, since he legit has next to no flaws, and since he has like nothing else in his life I have no clue what to do for a backstory. I’m worried I’m going to turn him into something people won’t recognize, but if I leave him how he is I’m going to run out of ideas on what to do with him. I want to attempt to do him justice (although tbh I’m not really a professional writer so don’t get your hopes up too much). So, Maurice might take a bit longer for me to do. Especially with my job starting

Ok, Day 4! Today we’re doing my first technically OC that isn’t just me taking a background design and giving them a character. So, here we go! Again, this art was made by bashing the offical KND artwork with my own drawings. I cannot take credit, so all credit goes to the show’s original artists!

Now, here’s the leader of the Teens Next Door, and the unofficial leader of the Cleve Sector, Nicolás Iris! Formerly, he was known as Numbuh 10-47, the former leader of the Decommissioning Squad before Numbuh 86 took over. After “betraying” the KND, he first became a member of the Cleve division of the TND under the name “Shortstop”, before becoming the Grand Leader of the Teens Next door under the Codename “The Boss”. He mainly stays in the Cleve Sector, since a lot of his job can be done with technology, so often times he helps them with missions. His contact with the KND is minimum, with most of it coming from interactions with his younger sister or the kids who know about the TND. He’s kind of hard to explain, but I’ll do my best to do so. Hes kinda like the asshole older brother to the TND. He teases his operatives a lot, sure, but at the same time, hes always ready to listen, is super protective, and genually cares about the TND. However, he can be bit mean when he gets frustrated, and he tends to bury himself in his work.

Heres some fun facts about him:

- He is 15 years old, and his pronouns are he/him

- Nicolás is a trans gay man. He transitioned once he left the KND.

- He also goes by the nickname “Nicky”

- He’s a middle sibling. He has two older sisters, and one younger one.

- His mother died when he was 13, two months after he ran from his Decomissioning.

- When he transitioned, it was his father who suggested the name Nicolás

- Dont tell anyone, but his favorite KND operative besides his sister is Numbuh 86. He finds it hilarious that everyone is so scared of her.

- He blasts punk rock music at 3 am without headphones, much to the annoyance of his family

- He owns a leather jacket that he got from his mom.

- He doesn’t drink coffee, but he does drink energy drinks.

- He can’t stand people verbally fighting with each other. Anytime operatives are fighting with each other, he just sends them to Maurice or his older sister Eleanor to deal with

- He managed to escape Decomissioning by legit just not showing up to it. He’s still surprised it worked.

Nicky has been an OC of mine for an extremely long time, along with the rest of the Iris family. Their backstory in my head is a lot different, but since I don’t want to interfere too much with the core of the show, so I had to tweak it. Again, his personality is hard to explain with words, so this might not be 100% accurate to how he may be written. His eldest and youngest sister probably wont be introduced anytime soon, since I want to kinda focus on a couple more canon characters (also since the eldest is 20 and has her own complicated backstory and the youngest is just super complicated), but Eleanore will be! Next up, however, is Maurice.

Day 3, and I decided to go with Numbuh 206! My posting in general might be slow, since I start work soon. However, I am still going to try to post a bit! Again, the pictures shown are edited version of official KND art. All credits go to the artists of the show.

Heres the first Teen Traitor we see betray the KND in the show, Noelani Tsui! Formerly, she was known as Numbuh 206, a high ranked KND spy and 2 x 4 officer of her divison. After “betraying” the KND, she became a member of the Cleve division of the TND under the name Toola-Roola. She currently is stationed as a Tech Expert, with her sort of acting as the Oracle of the Cleve Sector. She also acts as a part-time Teen Spy, with her focus being on the Teen Ninja’s weaponary, which makes her have little to no contact with the KND. At her core, Noelani loves to poke fun at the people she likes, and generally gives off a chill vibe. She very rarely loses her cool, and overall she gets along well with most people. She also a master of sarcasm, and tends to have a dry sense of humor. However, she often acts like she doesn’t care about things she does care about, and can be insensitive to others emotions. She tends to make jokes and poke fun of people at the worse possible times

Heres some fun facts about her:

- Shes four months older then Chad, yet is still 13, and her pronouns are she/her

- Noelani doesn’t really care about labels. She likes who she likes

- Her favorite person to tease is Chad because he’s so easy to rile up

- On the rare occasion she goes out on missions, she often gets paired with Maurice or their leader’s older sister.

- Shes the oldest of 3, with her having a younger brother and sister. They all live with their two Dads.

- She absolutely loves video games. She’ll sometimes be playing them while helping out the Teens Next Door

- She used to have a MLP phase when she was younger. She totally still doesn’t have a bucket of figurines in the actict

- Noelani is still confused how the mix up happened during her Decommisioning. The Decom Squad were suppose to chase her, but she somehow lost them and they started chasing Numbuh 362 instead. They dont even look alike!!! And she would know! She worked with the girl!

To make her, I mashed up Cree Lincoln with Numbuh 10, giving me Noelani! (Yes I know she’s white and is called male in the show. Sue me)

Day two of introducing my version of the Teens Next Door! I didnt have a lot of time to draw and edit today, so I decided to do a character from the original show. Credits to the artists of the show for the picture I edited! And again, more about Chad will be elaborated on later.

It’s everyone’s favorite teen to hate, Chad Dickson! As we all know, he was formerly known as Numbuh 274, a former Cadet Trainer and Head of the KND armies before becoming Supreme Leader after Numbuh 100 was decommissioned. After “betraying” the KND, he became a member of the Cleve division of the TND under the name Goldilocks (Which he hates). He currently is stationed as a Teen Spy, with his focus being on the Teen Ninjas and the Football Team, which causes him to be in conflict with the KND often. Chad, famously, is extremely cocky, and for good reason; he was one of the best operatives the KND had. He’s also extremely grumpy, and has a hard time making new friends. Despite his flaws, he’s extremely loyal, and will do anything to protect the ones he cares about. He didn’t always act like this; when he joined the TND he was much more open and ready to lead, just like he was when he was in the KND. Something obviously happened that caused his fake personality to become his actual one, but he wont tell anyone what’s up.

Heres some fun facts about him:

- He’s the youngest of the Cleve Sector, having just turned 13, and his pronouns are he/him

- This man is 100% straight. Definitely. Totally (he’s super in the closet)

- He was accepted into the Teens Next Door due to his status as Supreme Leader. He almost lost his invitation after the disaster that was his escape

- He’s an only child.

- He’s actually pretty terrible with 2 by 4 technology. Not that he’ll ever admit to it.

- Chad actually danced ballet when he was younger.

- The older operatives of the TND are extremely worried about Chad’s drastic change in personality.

Chad was pretty easy to do since, ya know, we know a lot about him. Next, most likely, will either be Numbuh 206 or one of my OCs (I’m saving Maurice for later)

Ok, so I’m attempting to write my second fic, which is just a series of one shots surrounding my version of the Teens Next Door. However, I realized I never introduced them properly. So, I’m going to start editing of couple of official KND art to show you what my head canon version of the Teens Next Door looks like, since the KND art style is a tricky one for me (all credit goes to the original artists on the show. I do not want to claim that their work is mine). Today, we’re starting with a background character who I basically made into an OC since she showed up like once with no name. If y’all can tell me which episode she appears in I’ll give you a cookie /j.

Also apologies, I am bad at bios. This is just meant to be brief.

This is Bethany Decker! She was formerly known as Numbuh 561 of Sector W, being their Second in Command a Diversionary Tactics Expert, but now she’s a member of the Cleve division of the TND under the name Lightyear. She currently is stationed as a Teen Spy, with her focus being on the Cheerleaders and the General population of teens, meaning she generally has minimal contact with the KND. She can be a bit spacey, and she can definitely ramble on about her many conspiracies, but she overall is a super chill girl who loves hanging out with her friends. Don’t let that fool you though; Bethany is an amazing actress, and she knows how to hit someone where it hurts if they push her too far.

Here are some fun facts about her:

- Shes 15 years old, and her pronouns are She/Her

- Shes Biromantic; her first female crush was She-Ra

- She was accepted into the Teens Next Door after helping capture her Sector’s leader after he tried to run. She’s not sure how to feel about this.

- She was actually born in San Fernando Valley in California. Her family moved to Cleve when she was 6, right around when she became a cadet next door. She does in fact have a Valley Girl accent

- She’s kind of scared of Rainbow Monkeys

- She has two pet cats

- She actually likes most of the Cheerleaders…except Stacey

- She’s actually the youngest out of her family; her two older brothers are in college

- Yes, she does get dress coded a lot. She hates the dress code and has been fighting to get it removed by wearing outfits that go against it. All this has done is wind her up in detention a bunch.

To make her, I edited a photo of Stacey (this one specifically) and use reference images from the original episode she appeared in

Hopefully, when I get this fic going a bit, I can show a bit more of her character. This will have to do for now. Next on my list; Chad! (Everyone’s favorite lol)

Here’s a silly thing; Sector V as things that happened to me while in Disney World as a kid:

Numbuh 1: Plays the Perry the Platypus game in Epcot instead of learning about the various countries (RIP the Agent P game)

Numbuh 2: Rambles about the Pepper’s Ghost Effect to closest adult while riding the Haunted Mansion.

Numbuh 3: Demands to go on Small World 10 times, refused to go anywhere else until she manages to go on it 10 times.

Numbuh 4: Spins the Tea Cup so fast that it made whoever was riding with him nauseous.

Numbuh 5: Ends up not using all of Disney’s provided snacks so rushed to the candy store to get all of them before she goes home.

Ok so the TND has always fascinated me because we get such little info about it, so here’s some loredrop au version of it, in no particular order:

- The current leader is Nicolás Ray Iris, former Head of Decommissioning. The process for picking out a leader involves a lot of voting, tests, and a dance battle. He beat out his older sister for the position. Not that she minded, since she had been stuck in a leadership position in the KND before that and had hated it.

- Numbuh 206 is a member of the Teens Next Door, along side one of the cheerleaders on Stacey’s squad. (I really want to elaborate on them)

- Everyone in the TND has a dumb, military like Codename that is given to them by their fellow operatives. Until they get those, they are usually just called by their KND number

- Chad’s is Goldilocks, Maurice is Herald. They both have stories behind them

- The most common job for a Teen is a Teen Spy. However, being a teen spy in the Ninjas isn’t as common, and is a difficult job to do.

- There are also teens whose job is actively sabotaging the adults

- The TND has pulled a massive prank on Father’s house every year since he has become a major villain

- There’s a very select group of KND operatives who know about the TND, two of which are head of decommissioning and the Supreme Leader. Often times, these kids are guaranteed a spot in the TND. Which makes the TND wonder even more why Numbuh 100 chose to be decommissioned

- Despite this, most of the TND is absolutely terrified of Numbuh 86

- The TND really don’t know what to make of Chad. They aren’t aware of the GKND, and many people are starting to suspect he is a traitor

- Maurice in my AU is both 15 and no longer dating Cree. Instead, it’s his job to act as her closest friend that tells him all the Ninjas plans since he isn’t in the Ninjas

- If Cree had not betrayed the KND, she would have been picked for the TND

Decommissioned Teen 3 x 4 AU but Kuki has turned into this wild child rocker because she doesn’t have the same outlets from her strict, controlling parents that she used to since she can’t remember any of them so she decides to be rebellious for the sake of being rebellious (even though she still gets good grades) and Wally is the popular, star athlete of the school because he found a good outlet for all of his energy and they end up falling in love with each other all over again.

Finally! 5/6 humanoid idols done! The background on this is terrible but I’m pretty happy with how Marina turned out, even if the body itself is a bit wonky. Now, just time to draw Pearl! (whose hair scares me just as much as Marina’s does). Also I apologize if Marina’s skin tone is off in anyway. I did my best to get the right tone, I’m just not 100% sure if its correct since I went based off the 3d model. Please tell me if it’s wrong.

OK 4.5/6 humanoid Splatoon idols done and I’ve hit a road block. For someone who joined the fandom during Splatoon 2, and who used to be able to draw the four idols on a mousepad on my middle school Chromebook, I am having an extremely hard time drawing either Marina or Pearl. So, here’s what I have of Marina so far! Her clothes are a lot harder to draw than I remember them being.
