“It was happiness without anyone else’s input. It was just, we were happy.”
And I knew you’d come back to me You’d come back to me…
and if you never bleed you’re never gonna grow
Does she have to be this beautiful all the time?
i think we can all agree that folklore has the best instrumentation of taylor’s entire career
oh my god
im a folk(w)hore before im human
Folklore | 8th Studio Album
AND FINALLY A BON IVER/TAYLOR COLLAB LIKE MY HIGH SCHOOL SELF IS DEAD NOW THANK YOU
folklore is the most taylor album and she didn’t do it for the charts she did it because she can finally do something for herself and not have how much she sells over her head. she did this for her, not for anyone else. it’s about time this happened for her im so proud of her :’)
also her voice has never sounded like this before..... it’s velvet........
this genre and production fits her so so well it sounds more natural than anything she’s ever done, she slides into this so easily and completely.... taylor swift the woman... oh my god i’m fully like. shivering.
And when I felt like I was an old cardigan, under someone’s bed, you put me on and said I was your favorite.
it strikes me that reputation and folklore are both written in lowercase and have black and white aesthetics. but while reputation was an album about taylor dealing with the reputation that the world had created for her, folklore is an album that’s about her creating her own stories, not only about herself but also about other people and things that she’s never personally experienced. it’s like reputation was the stories that the world told about her and who she was, and now she’s kind of turning it around and creating her own stories, her own folklore. in this essay i will—
folklore is legitly the album that ISN’T made for commercial value, it’s just a product of art that she’s personally proud of and decided to throw out for personal satisfaction which explains the lack of promotional materials because it doesn’t matter to her
