“Whoah, there’s so much!” the boy shouted to himself, pouncing left and right like an excited dog. The ground and the very air shook and shuddered with each powerful thrust of lightning thrown from the clouds, and a single person danced carefree in the middle of it all, soaked from the heavy downpour accompanying the drumming thunder. Then -- the skies cracked open and the entire field seemed to flash black-and-white, and before he knew it, the grass at his feet was utterly destroyed.
He stood there, blinked, and then examined his hands and the rest of his person, but he himself, despite having just getting struck directly by a bolt of lightning, remained unchanged.
“That’s weird,” he mused out loud to himself, again, “I didn’t know these things don’t do anything to people. So weird!” but his face split into a smile once again, one of a childish joy from the discovery, and he immediately got back to prancing around in the thunderstorm until, through the darkness, the lightning illuminated the presence of another.
“Hi! Did you see that just now? That was so cool!” He bounded towards the ‘stranger,’ arms flapping up and down like a bird, ecstatic for the company.
