I always used to call it holochess but apparently that’s not its name.
The rarest and most expensive item in that Japanese Toy and Pop Culture museum/store - yup one of the original heads featured in the Cantina scene in Star Wars.
To be honest I needed it pointed out to me.
Sorry for being quiet but I’ve been ill and of course taking a little holiday from the galaxy far away - check out this guy I spotted whilst in Japan :) His name is Feltipern Trevagg :)
So you may have noticed...
There was no Star Wars 365 yesterday, nor shall there be one today and very likely tomorrow.
As many of you are aware I’ve struggled with this challenge quite a bit, some of the reasons being that I was being too ambitious when estimating my resilience to the parade of background characters that are in Star Wars.
As much as I love Star Wars it’s not my first love and I think when you’re drawing something daily you probably want to live and breathe it.
I also get pretty serious bouts of depression and I don’t think this was helping.
So I’ve unshackled myself from the project!
This doesn’t mean no more Star Wars pics I’m just not going to be posting them daily. I’m working on the Cantina picture now in all its varied background character glory and I’ll be doing the Empire Strikes Back bounty hunter parade and eventually Jabba the Hutt’s palace.
I’m looking forward to them and I’ll get them done when they’re done which is better for me.
I’m looking forward to drawing stuff again - I want to dip into the Stargate universe for a little bit, maybe the Farscape one and I’ve got a bunch of commission pieces to complete in other universes.
So it’s bittersweet and thank you to all you guys who stuck with throughout - I’m still planning on the big Star Trek 366 next year but we’ll see how I go ramping up for that.

Man that’s a powerful scene, it’s a powerful film anyway - discovering Vader was Luke’s father was massive and mindblowing especially for an nine or ten year old.
I don’t think Star Wars has ever matched the brilliance of this film again.

Oh yeah, these are a lot of fun right now. I was struggling over the weekend to find Star Wars inspiration but again shaking up the media has really helped and I find myself wanting to draw in ink a lot!!

Also that’s my first Gamorrean Guard, I wondered how he’d go without his pig nose, I can tell what he is so I’m happy.

195. Unidentified courier droid
I cannot believe that this background character in Jabba the Hutt’s droid torture chamber (why he needs one is beyond me) has no name or backstory.
I am impressed we know his job though.

I think we’ve only seen the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the hostility between wookiees and mouse droids.

193. Boba
I kind of felt like a change of pace and had this in my head since the Jango Fett helmet scribble. So I broke out the ink nibs and did an ink wash instead of my current usual pencils and watercolours.
I did like this scene, I probably didn’t find it quite so moving as many do but then I’ve never been overly impressed by Boba Fett as a character - as a visual design he looks amazing but over all as a character it’s more fan fiction than actual demonstrated awesomeness.
At any rate this one is available over at Etsy. I’ll be doing a few more over there in ink as well :)
192. JABBA! Stop poking the sarlacc with a stick!!
Little known fact: Jabba would sneak out at night and head down to Great Pit of Carkoon and annoy the mighty Sarlacc.
