No one cares cause people are going to believe what they want but I have counterarguments to everyone's stupid arguments.
Lars Mikkelsen is a 59 year old man and an accomplished actor. He's also 6'4" (1.93 m). And is in no way obligated to do the horrible and toxic shit male actors are forced to do in Hollywood to get that 'perfect' body. He looks fine. He looks real. And he looks every bit the imposing Grand Admiral he's meant to be as Thrawn. Like if you saw him coming at you I guarantee the last of your worries is his waistline.
Thrawn is a book adaptation. His character is unique among Star Wars characters because he's been adapted from novels instead of originating on the screen. It's a different medium altogether. You can add so much more nuance and dimension and Zahn took full advantage of that in creating Thrawn.
In that vein: Thrawn was meant to be a different kind of villain from the start. Zahn wrote him to be a threat not because he's a big scary space sorcerer but because he's an effective military leader. He's effective mostly because he leads through actual leadership and ability and not fear. His subordinates are fiercely loyal to him. Like even if they didn't like him personally, they trusted him to pull out of any insane situation with leadership, dignity and concern for their well-being. And that is why he is so incredibly dangerous. He inspires a cult of personality because he earned it and doesn't demand it. Regardless of what side he's on....that's incredible and impressive. Like damn I wish my bosses were like that. Anyway, this is what he's 'supposed' to be.
The makeup needs help. It just does. Yes, I KNOW Disney can afford and do better. But there's things to consider: Comfort level of the actors, time for application and removal and how it reacts to having stage lights blasted on it. I would like it if they used more contour and lit his face better. It looks better in some shots than others. Anyway just...its the least of the issues.
The fans of a character don't owe you shit, especially not 'morality' and virtue signaling. If you don't like that character, just fuck off, it's not for you. Go play with your own glup shitto.
Thrawn is fictional. He is not real. He is words on a page. Quit treating the fans and the actor like shit. Some of you are getting really violent about it and it's not okay. That goes for both fans and the people harassing fans. IT'S NOT REAL. This character is not a real person and isn't subject to real person shit. I do not condone this behavior in real life. He does a lot of shitty things. but I repeat. NOT REAL.

I think Thrawn would have very practical and but nice braids (that Cheri taught him how to do) since he is still a practical and logical TM chiss. However, I hc long, fancy hair is very common among chiss leadership, and who better to show them off than the always fancy Thrass?

How old is Thrawn?
Featuring my recent re-read of Chaos Rising and notes on this topic.
SO. We have two important clues: 1) Thrawn meets Anakin close to the end of the war (it is implied Ahsoka has already left the order, I believe), ~19 BBY. 2) Thalias, on joining the Springhawk shortly before this incident, muses that it’s been two decades since she’s been in the military, which presumably was her last voyage shipping Thrawn between Rentor and Taharim Academy: his first space trip, when he became a cadet.
We don’t have enough for an exact age, so I’ll consider the YOUNGEST he could possibly be (but he’s probably older) and the OLDEST he could plausibly be (but he’s probably younger).
Thalias sees Thrawn as “young,” which, her being 13, could very well be somewhere around 16 to 18 (high school kids felt SO OLD in middle school), and he gives off teenager vibes in his conversation with Thurfian. We don’t know when military training starts for the Chiss, but I feel like it’s young; 18 (college age) is reasonable, but considering the Chiss emphasis on getting Ruling Family attention from even a young age, 14-16 (high school age) seems plausible. Thus, 14 is the absolute YOUNGEST he could possibly be when meeting Thalias, presumably an older-looking 14 since he still has to crouch to meet Thalias’s height. The OLDEST he could plausibly be would be maybe 22 at a stretch (graduating college/graduate school age). A more reasonable age would be around 16-18 (finishing high school or overachieving college student).
Now, Thalias’s musings on her “two decades” without military timing could be an exaggeration; I would use “oh, about 20″ for a range from about 18 to 22.
So, the YOUNGEST Thrawn could possibly be in 19 BBY is (14+18=) 32! Which would put him at 51 at time of space-whaling.
The OLDEST Thrawn could plausibly be in 19 BBY is (22+22)= 44, which would put him at 63 at time of space-whaling.
A more reasonable estimate I would say would be around (16 or 18 + 20)= 36 to 38 in 19 BBY, which would put him at 55 to 57 at time of space whaling.
No matter what, he’s at least 60 by the time the Mandalorian comes around (9 ABY).
This concludes an estimate of Thrawn’s age.
