Mentor
Having a day off from saving the people of Metropolis was rare but sometimes the earth became quiet and things would slow down, of course it never lasted long but he took the moments when he could.
Nothing was planned, instead, he opted to stay inside the apartment for the night and watch a few movies, maybe even work on a piece for the Daily Planet.. it was nice, being able to sit back and relax with out having to rush to someone in danger every few minutes.
Sitting back on the couch, his laptop laid on his lap as he scrolled through recent police reports and different files. A knock at his balcony door caught him off guard, no one ever used his balcony as a form of entrance.
Cautiously eyeing the doors, his eyes narrowed and he began to focus – first peering through the layer of curtains that covered his balcony doors, and then the doors themselves - reaching a person, or something close to a person, standing outside.
Unlocking the door, he barely opened it for the person outside, you could see his eye, but that was it. “Who are you and what are you doing on my balcony?”
Orion couldn’t see though the door, but he could see enough of the other man to know that he was the one that he was looking for. The small bit he saw held the glint of color that normal human skin didn’t have. A hue of light that most beings couldn’t see.
Orion smiled softly.
“My name is Orion. I’m from beyond the stars, just like you.”
He stood on the balcony, wondering what he should say next.
“I know that you are a hero. You help people, using the powers that you have. I want to do the same. I have some of the same powers that you have. But not all of them. And powers that you do not have.”
He looked down.
“I want to help people. I feel it is my calling.”
