when I was 5 or 6 we had a father-daughter day at my school where you eat lunch together and play games and shit, but my dad didnât wanna come so I went on my own. but my mum called my uncle real last minute and he immediately got off work and drove straight over to eat lunch w me so I wasnât alone, and he even picked flowers from his garden to give to me and thatâs when I realised that anyone can be a father but not everybody can be a dad
I want to be really clear about something: Planned Parenthood has done more to prevent abortion than the pro-life movement ever has.
Yup, preventing abortion by giving abortions. Makes sense!
No you fucking crusty nutsack giving people the education and the tools to not become pregnant in the first fucking place
One of my Christian friends made a Facebook post about how PP gave her tons of resources when she was trying to get pregnant and people were actually genuinely shocked that they provided such resources; they had fully bought into the idea that PP is just an âabortion factoryâ. The misinformation thatâs been spread about PP is unreal.
Did I ever mention the time that I found out my lecturer was the ghost in one of my classmateâs home town?
Righto. So a couple years ago I took a Myths and Legends class for uni. The lecturer was this really incredible guy. Loved history. Dressed, everyday, to the nines. Top hat, waistcoat, leather shoes etc. In one of the introductory classes he had us share stories we had heard, local myths and legends from the towns we grew up in. I was studying in Ballarat, an Australian town with a rich ghost history and so it made sense that a lot of people had answers. This one girl, however, grew up in a small rural town a couple hours away and talked about the ghost she knew of from when she was in high school. Every night, at the same time of night (about 3am), people recounted seeing a Victorian man walk across the golf field. This one was particularly interesting because she had seen herself. That is, where other people had just heard these stories, she knew that what had been talked about was real.
This was when he turned red. It had turned out that when he was studying for his undergrad he was living in this particular town. Not many people knew him because he didnât grow up there. He would spend countless nights up late working and so to wind would go on long late night walks. At 3am, every night. In the full garb he wore everyday.Â
It had turned out that him being the stand out that he was, had birthed a legend. He had known about it but never did he think it would catch up with him.Â
âYou say you hate cops but what if you need to call them for yourselfâ
Iâve said it before and Iâll just keep it up: American police are beyond rehabilitation. We recruit angry introverts and train them to be paranoid cowards. This is inevitable.

When Trump visited Puerto Rico in October, he said that Hurricane Maria wasnât a âreal catastropheâ like Hurricane Katrina.
Katrina killed at least 1,836 in the US.
Maria killed at least 4,645 in Puerto Rico.
These are the direct results of a man in office who doesnât value lives of the citizens.

If Youâre Gonna Make Something Wheelchair Accessible, Donât Make it a Thing
Hereâs some examples awkward accessibility being a thing:
Your at a hotel that has a lift to get you from one sub-floor to another, but the lift can only be unlocked and operated by one specific person that the hotel now has to go find. Sure, theyâve made the entrance to the sub-floor is accessible, but now itâs a thing.
The buses are wheelchair accessible but the driver has to stop the bus, take 30 seconds to lower the goddamn ramp, move passengers out of their seats, hook up the straps and then secure you in the bus. Sure, theyâve made the busses accessible but now itâs a thing.
The restaurant has an accessible entrance, but itâs past the trash room and through the kitchen. Sure, the restaurant is accessible, but now itâs an insulting thing.
Hereâs some great examples of accessibility not being a thing:
The train to the airport pulls up flush with the platform. I board with everyone else and sit wherever the fuck I want. Riding the train is accessible and not a thing.
In Portland, I press a button the side of the streetcar and a ramp automatically extends at the same time the door opens. I board in the same amount of time as everyone else. This is not a thing.
I get that it is difficult to design for wheelchair accessibility, but folks need to start considering the overall quality of the experience versus just thinking about meeting the minimum requirements.
For the love of all things holy please pay attention to this
