I know I've said this a hundred times but if you're worried about palestinian fundraisers being scams at least consider donating to MSF. It's a highly reputable organization which has broken its long-standing neutrality to denounce Israel in front of the UN. Here's all the aid MSF is providing to Gazans (documentation available in multiple languages).
Since I know no one's gonna click on that link, here's a quick overview of some of the various ways in which Medicins Sans-Frontiers (Doctors Without Borders) is aiding Palestinians
- Since Oct 7 2023, MSF provided for 14000 hospital admissions and 7500 surgeries, on top of treating 27500 people for physical violence causes, treating 34000 people for diarrhoea (very common condition in Gaza currently due to the sanitary crisis) and holding 18000 mental health sessions.
-MSF is currently operating in two hospitals, eight healthcare facilities and fifteen mobile clinics, providing surgical support, wound care, physiotherapy, maternity and paediatric care, basic healthcare, vaccinations, and mental health services among other things (more info on the treatments provided by each facility on the link above). Additionally, they provide training for psychological, medical and paramedical volunteers, and donate first aid kits to various camps (info on the specific locations on the link above).
- Via their partnership with the Palestinian Agriculture and Development Association, they're building latrines for over 30000 people in six camps, distributing hygiene kits to 2400 families, and ensuring clean drinking water for 25000 people, on top of equipping a camp for 70 families with accessible sanitary facilities for disabled people.
- Since October 7, 2023, eight of their medics have died. Seven of them are remembered here, and their latest, Hasan Suboh, in this statement that denounces Israel's allies for disregarding the fact that the protection of humanitarian workers is not being guaranteed as they claim.
MSF does not only stand for Palestine in humanitarian terms, it also does so politically to an extent, holding Israel and its allies accountable for sabotaging ceasefire negotiation attempts.
MSF also provides aid to Sudan, the Democratic Republic Of Congo, Haiti, Ethiopia and 76 other countries.
To better maximize your donation to MSF, I advise keeping an eye out for donation doubling and tripling periods, which occur fairly often and can be checked on their website.
That is the deerest thing that i ever did see 😉😁😍
I hate linguistic anthropology. Why? One of the most influential experiments in linguistic anthropology involved teaching a chimp asl. One of the most influential linguistics is named Noam Chomsky. You know what the chimp’s name was?
Nim Chimpsky.
Fucking monkey pun.
And this is in textbooks, in documentaries, everywhere. And everyone just IGNORES THIS GOD AWFUL PUN cause of how important the experiment was. But
BUT LOOK AT THIS SHIT. FUCKING NIM CHIMPSKY. I HATE THIS WHOLE FIELD.
Its not just the linguistic anthropologists.
There’s a group of very important genes that determine if your body develops in the right shape/organization… they are called the hedgehog genes, because fruit fly geneticists are all ridiculous. The different hedgehog genes are all named after different hedgehogs. And then someone decided to get clever and name one “sonic hedgehog” because this is just what fruitfly geneticists do.
Well sonic hedgehog controls brain development, and now actual doctors are stuck in the position of explaining to grieving parents that their child’s lethal birth defects or life-threatening tumors are caused by a “sonic hedgehog mutation”.
And this is why no one will invite the fruit fly people to parties.
Biogeochemical scientists, upon discovering the complex mechanisms that govern the storage and use of molecular iron on our planet, decided to call this cycle “the ferrous wheel”. We groaned about that for at least five solid minutes.
The phenomenon of sneezing when exposed to sudden bright light is called an Autosomal-dominant Compelling Helio Opthalmic Outburst. ACHOO.
Half a byte of data is a nibble.
Particle physicists went out of their way to call a particle a WIMP (weakly interacting matter particle) just because its weak so now you have physicists saying stuff like “one of the candidates for dark matter are wimps”
I love science
TIL “Yankee Doodle” was written by the British to mock americans. “Doodle” is thought to come from the German “dödel”, meaning “fool” or “simpleton” and “macaroni,” a flamboyantly stylish type of dress, painting the Yankees as morons who thought placing a feather in one’s cap made them a “dandy.”
via reddit.com
so you’re telling me that “stuck a feather in his hat and called it macaroni” would be like saying “wrote a G on his belt and called it gucci”
that’s…a pretty good analogy actually
US moron came to town
Hunting for some coochie
Wrote a G up on his belt
And this bitch called it Gucci
Seeing my notifications get flooded with this every July 4th is the only thing I respect about America

Hello 👋
When I look at my children today, I see questions in their eyes that I cannot answer. Before the war, our lives were full of hope and dreams. We had a warm home, opportunities to work and study, and children who played and laughed.
Today, getting clean water is a daily battle. We search for every drop with longing to quench our children's thirst. My children, Zeina, Eileen, Yamen, and our little one who was born amidst this devastation, suffer from water scarcity and constant displacement.
In addition to the children's suffering, I am now facing a serious health issue. I have a herniated disc in the fourth and fifth vertebrae, making movement and daily tasks very challenging. In these circumstances, it has become difficult to provide the basics for my children, let alone the medical care I need.
We live in constant fear, searching for safety, but there is no safe place. We desperately need your support and assistance. Please share our story and help us in any way possible, whether through donations or spreading our message. Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a big difference in our lives.

global islamophobia is a very real and dangerous threat, it is institutionalised in the world's largest and richest nations, in the first and the third world and it is currently deployed in the defense of a genocide. i don't think people are taking it seriously – almost no lessons were learned from the war on terror, no restitution made and now as it takes on new forms i expect we will see it begin to be normalised in spaces where it was previously carefully talked around.
(1) who won the most recent elections in the world's most populated country, india and the ideology of hindu nationalism espoused by the ruling party? 200 million muslims live in india out of about a population of 1.8 billion. hindu and muslim indians are just as brown as each other.
(2) what value do you believe comes from collapsing the analytical categories of racism and islamophobia? can we point to a history of religious conflict? why does this not have any continuity with the modern manifestation of anti muslim sentiment?
(3) why do you think racism against brown people only happens because of mistaken religious identity? are you suggesting that when it is clear brown people are, say christian, they are not harassed?
(3) both france and india have attempted to ban the hijab from public spaces. what religion does this target? are there specific discourses common to discussions of muslim people?
(4) please locate pakistan and indonesia on a map. analyse racial and cultural similarities with the arab world.
@metamatar knows way better than me. But why in the notes people keep associating Islam and Arabs ? Indonesia is a Muslim country. Malaysia is a Muslim country. India is a country in which both Islam and Hinduism have been coexisting and in which Modi (the current Prime Minister of India) came and started to institutionalize hindu nationalism as said by @metamatar above. Compulsively tying Islam to Arabs and Arabs is part and parcel of of Islamophobia, as kind the intention behind it is.
They're quite close to their goals, please boost!

This happens all over the world, because the US government (like other empires before it) rewards charities whose "food aid" involves shipping American crops and food to a country, rather than helping that countries agriculture sector grow so it can sustain itself. In fact, the large amounts of "free" food donated by charities can destroy local agriculture because they cannot sell their crops, forcing them to find new jobs or start growing cash crops to sell instead.
Empires actively work against trying to "teach people how to fish," because they want countries dependent on "charity" from the empire and exploitative international trade. Bill and Hillary Clinton's actions in Haiti are despicable, but not unique.
"Charity" under capitalism is rarely done for the long-term benefit of those given "aid," and that is by design.

fuck the dc pride parade, they let israelies not only wave their flag of genocide and apartheid, but one of those devils was even marching with a sign that read "WHEN IS THE PRIDE PARADE IN GAZA AGAIN?"

1. Covering the expenses of accommodation in Cairo, Egypt, throughout the visa and biometric process.
2. Meeting the cost of flight tickets from Cairo to Canada.
3. Securing affordable and suitable housing.
4. Addressing monthly necessities such as groceries, utilities, clothing, and shoes.
5. Ensuring access to healthcare and therapy, crucial for the well-being of our family members.

as of April 10, they have been able to start the process of acquiring visas and passports.
currently at $26,630/$80,000
May 11: $27,347/$80,000
that's over $700 in a day. please keep spreading and donating to keep up and even increase that momentum. you will be helping Najlaa's family including her brothers and sisters in law and her nieces and nephews - a family of 21 people! and remember, every little bit counts. if everyone who reblogged this donated 5 dollars, that would be almost $10,000. it's okay if you can donate even just $1, it all adds up.
May 15: $27,512/$80,000
donations have slowed down considerably. once again, please consider donating even a small amount, it still helps!
May 20: $27,707/$80,000
please keep sharing and donating, and thank you to everyone who has helped so far <3
sorry i can’t even begin to fully unpack the absolute disconnected, warped, maybe even soulless line of thinking for a billionaire to ignore people saying that we need her help raising money for families to evacuate a life or death situation.. and then two days later release another copy of a cd that we all already bought because god knows she apparently needs more money. like im just staring at that email from taylornation and asking what the fuck
wait for a surprise
I know I'm a bit late to saying this but frankly if I found out a secret society of magic-users were just playing nonsense sports and making up slurs for the rest of us instead of helping us out with famines or leukemia I think I'd apply for a job with my local witch hunters

Before the war, after I left Gaza for Germany, I used to call my dad almost everday and tell him about my day. He would tell me how everyone else was doing and say that Salah,my little nephew, kept asking where I was.
Now, I hardly ever reach my parents or any of my siblings.I don't think Salah even remembers who I am any more as he struggles to carry water containers. I always find myself agonizing and wondering if I'll ever meet my family again, whether the newborns will see me one day and know that their uncle longs to hold them in his arms.
Every time I look at my dad's picture in our home, smiling and surrounded by his grandchildren, it breaks my heart into a million pieces. The house he dreamed the kids would grow up in was leveled to the ground in a split second. Nothing is left, not even both his shoe shops where he worked so hard to build a future for us all. My siblings are unable to work or finish their studies. There are no schools left for the children. There is no proper food, water, or sanitation, no life; only death and rubble all around.
When my brother sent me a photo of my dad lighting a fire, he still had that same old smile on his face. I was relieved to see him somewhat hopeful but it broke my heart even more. My father is the most resilient and hard-working man I've ever known. He always supported us in whatever we wanted to achieve. His only hope was that his grandkids would grow up safely and happily in their home. He never complained from work and taught us the true meaning of sacrifice and perseverance. Instead of living peacefully with his family, he, the kids, and everyone else have to endure life in a makeshift tent,God knows for how much longer, while their lives are constantly threatened by airstrikes, starvation, and disease. No child, elder, or adult should go through such hardships for this long.
As the injustice persists, we only find solace and hope because the free people of this world are still standing with us. Please continue to support us any way you can. I don't even have the words any more to say how grateful I am to everyone. You have already done so much for us but we need you now more than ever.
Please donate if you can and reblog as many times as possible.
