Sure!
Merrittâs first crush was Mary Banks. Her family had moved into his old home the year after his father died, and she was the one whoâd given them back a few of their fatherâs things.
Seamus the Innkeeper had been a mediocre father and husband in the past few years, which is better than anyone had expected of him. He died of a cardiac explosion, which was exactly what everyone had expected of him. They still mourned his loss, though.
RIP Seamus Brewer 1840-1894
Essie and Ezra had finally recognized they had romantic feelings for each other some time ago. He had just turned 18 and was now working for Captain Marshall, the townâs investor, learning business. He, like Essie, wanted to make sure their little desert town stayed thriving. She was only 15, but he promised her now that he had a steady job heâd save up and they could get married in a few years.
Merritt had his birthday. Now he could really focus on his studies and started to dream of being accepted into a university and moving out of the desert. Maybe Brindleton College by the sea, or even further away to Britechester where his father had attended.
Merritt took the townâs fall pumpkin carving contest very seriously, as he did all of his cognitive and creative endeavors.
Essie and Ezra were still good friends as teens. He was good and cheerful and really admired her confidence and loyalty.
The Victoria Town Society. Playing cards in the inn parlor, Sharing Ideas, and Taking Names.
Weâve reached 1890! Annie had a photograph taken of the children. Esmeralda (13), Merritt (11), Clare (5), Seamus Jr. (2)
Oh my goshhhhh I wish theyâd have added a pre-teen stage instead of infant.
Baby Seamus Junior had his momâs hair, but his dadâs dark blue eyes, so the townspeople were a little less gossipy.

Annie had really blossomed lately. She still had bouts of gloom, but being a mother made her happy. She started coming out of her shell and not only getting to know the townspeople, but joined the Victoria Town Society to help out her neighbors and make their community a better place.
It was run by Rosario, the daughter of the townâs main investor, and had only one other member in Mrs. Banks, the bankerâs wife, whose family had just moved to town last year.
Much to her surprise, in 1888 Annie gave birth to a baby boy. He was definitely her husbandâs too, and so she didnât argue when he wanted to name the baby after himself.
Even in the 1880s baby sisters can be a big pain.
Essie and Merritt were taken in by Seamus and Annie. Annie insisted and Seamus was a bit nicer since Clare had been born. He didnât like having to give up a room at the inn for them, but they also came along with a fairly large inheritance.
You know what blows though is that everything that had been in Everettâs inventory is gone. All of his priceless artifacts and Miss Nellâs urn. Dumb.
At least I was able to retrieve a few knick-knacks from his study and the only family photo with him. đ˘
In a very unexpected twist, Everett attempted to make eggs and bacon one morning and caught on fire.
Merritt was determined to run and find help.
Turns out you really just canât click on anything when thereâs a fire, and I couldnât have Everett try to extinguish himself because there are no fire extinguishers in the 1880s. So.
When the baby was born, she had black hair. Seamus looked at it and knew something seemed off, but he either knows too little about genetics or decided he didnât care and he wanted to be a dad no matter what so he never said anything.
The townspeople suspected otherwise and they whispered about the father probably being Diego the farmhand at the Llama Ranch, who was very dashing and woo-ed everyone.
Annie and Everett knew the truth even though they never actually spoke about it.
