Hi, Dad. You son of a bitch. I never made one of these when you were still responding because I was so mad at you for leaving. And then when you went quiet, I feel like I should’ve lived with that decision, and I have. But today is my birthday. And it’s a special one, because you told me… you once told me that when you come back we might be the same age. And today I’m the age you were when you left. So it would be a real good time for you to come back.

Hi so I just watched Interstellar for the first time with my fam a few days ago and what a gem of a movie
that’s a mood
The Interstellar fandom:
70% gif sets and 120% fawning over Hans Zimmer’s soundtrack
Honestly good thing I didn’t see Intertellar when tt came out because I would have literally died if I had heard this soundtrack in a theatre
Do Not Go Gentle
Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
-
Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.
-
Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
-
Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.
-
Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
-
And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
im. so desperately in love with interstellar tbh!!! it and the martian r tied for my favorite movies of all time. the score is breathtaking
i am 100% with you on that omg!! seeing it when it first came out was the most incredible movie theatre experience i’ve ever had. everything about it was jaw-dropping– and tear-jerking. the amount of times i was driven to tears by that movie was just.. fjguhfhufhdfgdg.
just such a good movie, big mood to being desperately in love with it. im still amazed.
“Do not go gentle into that goodnight” is such an ominous thing to use in Interstellar, and what makes it worse is Mann using it as Cooper is dying.
“Rage against the dying of the light” and “do not go gentle” become much harsher when you realize what exactly Mann did so he wouldn’t die “gently.” He raged against death by doing whatever he could to live, even if it meant leaving another human being to the same fate he was so terrified of. By faking the possibility of life on his planet, he could very well have doomed his entire species.
Mann embodied his name in the most brutal way, by descending into one of mankind’s most innate instincts: survival, whatever the cost.
I bet if my pathetic life had a music theme written by Hans Zimmer, it could become respectable
