the street was silent, unmoving in the soft light of the moon. it was MAGICAL. the stillness was broken by the low rumble of an engine & soon the darkness was illuminated by the beam of a single headlight. the motorcycle slowed & then parked beside the curb. a man, clad in a leather jacket & a pink bandana, dismounted, fumbling with his chin strap so he could remove his helmet. august glanced over his shoulder. he could see no other figures in the street, but he couldn’t shake the feeling that he might not be the only one there.
