if you know filipinos 🇵🇭 on here with other social media / contact channels, pls let them know:
for some reason*, a lot of our local internet providers' servers have tumblr (and only tumblr, afaik) blocked as of late last night! as in with no way to open it!
this has happened to me and all the other filipinos i know online!
this is easily fixed by switching to another DNS server of your choice (it's just copy-pasting!) ingat!:

big moth? please identify
[Image: An owl inside someone's house, perched/clinging to the top of some drapes, its wings spread and resting tent-style so it resembles a moth.]
@onenicebugperday
The wing pattern reminds me a lot of brahmin moths, which are also sometimes called owl moths :)

sooo two of the frankenstein misconceptions people in the frankenfandom seem to hate are "victor is the real monster" and "victor is an old man"
which is interesting to me because... imo those two kind of intersect
like. part of the original book is that victor fucked up in the way he did because he's barely out of his teenage years and lacks the maturity and rationality to respond in a proper way when faced with the sudden stress of "oh fuck oh FUCK I MADE AN ALIVE THING." This is a normal response for a teenager/20yo because that age group does really badly with making decisions under duress. The idea is that, while Victor is absolutely not a perfect person, this doesn't make him a monster because he was literally too young to have the emotional and mental capacity to deal with this in a more logical way.
If a 40 year old man did this?
YEAH. HE'S A BITCH.
A man of THAT age should be able to step back and approach the situation with maturity. To find compassion for the living thing he created. To be responsible and hold himself accountable for what he did. To not completely let panic get in the way of making well-thought out decisions. Yeah, the old man's not in the easiest place with this either, but he should have more tact than a literal college student.
20yo Victor: immature and irresponsible in a way that's normal for a fucking college kid
Old man Dr. Frankenstein: immature, irresponsible, and lacking compassion in a way that's most definitely not okay for someone with a fully developed prefrontal cortex
Victor as he is in the novel is not a monster. He's a flawed person, as most people are, and was too young to know what he was doing.
But if you approach his character like he's the old man he is so commonly portrayed as in adaptations, there is significantly less sympathy to be found for him.

While researching RIO (2011) I found this behind the scenes. Blu's animator has pretty reasonable personal memorabilia in his office- he's got movies, muppets, pictures of his family...
and then there's Nigel's animator who is just absolutely obsessed with Nigel
I don't know if this is some sort of anthro AU Nigel or his own OC, but I love this design so much
I'm pretty sure that's concept art for the movie Epic.
