reblogging again to add my story. I tried this today at their gatlinburg location.

1. This is the one of the lowest proof alcohols (their sipping creams, most are pure moonshine) they sell here. Most are between 60-100. The $5 tasting had me stumbling out the door.

2. It’s absolutely scrumptious. Any of the creams are sweet, and perfect for sipping.

3. The pumpkin spice one was even better.

4. They have lemonade moonshine. Yes, this is a moonshine distillery. They’ll have you passed out after 2 sips.

Tried this drink and immediately thought of this post so I had to share.

Ok so in the dream I was a purveyor of clown meat. basically i ran a delicatessen that sold assorted deli meats but in particular i sold clown meat, which was somehow both a specialty item and a dietary staple. like it was a really culturally important food group. 

the thing about owning & operating a clown meat deli is that for some reason i was required to hunt the clowns myself, which required a hunting permit.

right so as i recall, my lawyer only took me on as a client to begin with bc, upon my arrest, i had made the most astonishingly controversial claim, upon which my entire defense would now hinge aka THERE ARE NO SIGNIFICANT ANATOMICAL DIFFERENCES BETWEEN CLOWNS AND HUMANS. That is to say i stood there in front of god (nonexistent) and man (painfully existent) and declared that once the skin came off, there was no reliable method of distinguishing clown meat from human meat, because while their behavior and appearance and presumed intelligence differed enormously–their anatomies did not.

I was so full of shit I should have burst like a balloon, but I said it with such conviction that everyone hesitated and took a step back.

I spent decades butchering and selling clown meat, so I knew without a doubt that dead clowns are in fact very easy to distinguish from human corpses. Oh they look the same all right, but any clown butcher worth their salt can tell you the unique thing about clown meat–the reason that clown meat is so much easier to clean and cut and dress than any other type of animal flesh.

honestly, after reading what some twitter screeners said about the darkling doing some real dark shit i was expecting the worst to happen, but this mf spent half the show crying and just being deeply in love with alina. the fuck

I’m glad someone else sees this lmao! (Well, someone besides Ben Barnes, who has been practically screaming that the Darkling does care about her every chance he gets lol). I keep seeing people trying to stop Darklinas saying it was all only manipulation and like I’m sorry but then why was this man teary-eyed every time they were together or he even *thought* about her after she left lol. Aleksander Morozova is an Alina Starkov simp first and a person second. But he’s just so anciently emotionally repressed and terrified of love that he doesn’t know how to hold a relationship together while navigating his grand schemes. I’m here for him though :’)

I *finally* finished Shadow and Bone on Netflix

This adaptation is FANTASTIC. It’s everything I pictured when I was reading the books and more. I honestly think it’s even better than the original trilogy.

I’m currently reading Six of Crows, and this show made me appreciate the characters even more than I already did. I love how the writers tied their storyline into Alina’s, everything came together so perfectly.

THE COMEDY. Milo the goat? David raising his hand? Alina straight up walking into the Crows’ getaway vehicle? I wasn’t ready.

The ROMANCE. Malina is adorable and so wholesome, Darklina was SEXY AS HELL and their chemistry was off the charts (until it all went to shit...we’ll talk about that later), and Kanej? Fuck. I haven’t even finished SoC and I’m already obsessed with them.

The way that Inej made her first kill to save Kaz...I love them your honor.

I love love LOVE Jessie as Alina. She is such a ray of sunshine. She captured Alina’s wit perfectly while also making sure she was kind and not too negative. In fact, I love the entire cast. The casting directors had a job and they did it to the best of their ability.

I thought Mal was so annoying in the books, but the show made him so likeable. He went through so much to get to Alina. I love that it showed him losing his friends to the Fjerdans, that he never really gave up on her. And when Alina slips and says the Darkling’s first name in front of him, he doesn’t even get angry or storm off and throw a fit. He just basically says, “It’s none of my business. I’m here for you now.” WHAT A KING. Also Mal is an honorary crow.

Ben Barnes was PERFECT as the Darkling. I know he’s an evil dick but god, he is an attractive one. I also love how the show gave us a backstory, and how it shows that, although he’s selfish and manipulative, he truly believes that he is doing the right thing. It adds a layer of complexity to him that was missing before. Also, can we talk about the desk scene in episode five because I- 👁👄👁

IN ADDITION, I hated how in the books the Darkling was supposed to look Alina’s age. The casting of a man who looks older than Alina really highlighted the power imbalance between them.

Jesus Christ, the collar was terrifying.

Jesper is my life now and I would die for him and Milo.

Inej was SUCH a cool character. Her and Jesper both have such awesome abilities, and I love the group dynamic between the crows.

Kaz was EVERYTHING, and I love how the show really highlighted the fact that he has a heart of gold underneath that tough exterior. I can’t wait to finish SoC.

Nina and Matthias were everything. “I’m beguiling you” STOP- 😭 I was so excited when the Crows were on the same boat as her.

The final showdown and the combination of the characters from the different series meeting? Epic.

“Make me your villain.”

Zoya, Genya, and David were all also perfect. I love that they added in a little extra scene for Zoya at the end by including her in the final showdown and having her meet the Crows.

Overall, I’m in love with the show. It’s one of the best book adaptations I’ve ever seen, and it’s a rare case where the adaptation is actually BETTER than the book. The first shadow and bone book was my least favorite in the trilogy, so if I enjoyed this season THIS MUCH, then I can only imagine how awesome the other seasons will be. I can’t wait to see Nikolai, and to (hopefully!) see the storylines from the SoC books brought to the screen once the original storyline has played out.

It’s been a long time since I’ve been this invested in a franchise, guys. I hope it sticks around for a long time. Don’t fail me, Netflix.
