Kiki's Delivery Service x Hatchetfield AU long post <3
because im so in awe with kiki's delivery service.
this is specifically how Hannah's Divination Service takes roots in conjunction to Miss Retro's 🎶
Hannah had been flying for a while, trying to find a town to settle for her first year of training. None had drawn her fancy yet, some other witches and wizards - those with "a touch of the gift" as some would say - had told her about their luck with certain towns or where their homes were.
Hannah, however, didn't know what she wanted. Maybe just a small town, could be on an island. She wanted someone who could guide her well, she was very skilled a divination, even Webby knew that. Webby was her spider companion, unlike usual witches who owned black cats, Hannah owned a golden orbweaver instead. Hannah often referred to her divination like a spider's carefully crafted web, so this only furthered her reasoning to the unusual pet.
Eventually, Hannah flew over Hatchetfield. The town was decently sized, had some nice shops, though she got in a bit of trouble for some reckless flying. Something about having to "obey traffic laws". Either way, she just needed to find a witch to help her set up, though it didn't seem like there were any witches around here. A few hours of exploring later, not a single witch found, Hannah felt hungry, and so she stumbled into Miss Retro's.
The diner looked like something straight from one of those 80s sitcoms that her older sister Lex made her watch, in fact it had some memorabilia from some of them. She ordered a simple cherry pie, but with one bite, yes, a light sparky aftertaste. The woman behind the counter, with her eccentric hair might be a witch. The woman introduced herself as Miss Holloway, and invited Hannah up to the flat above the diner, in which Hannah was met by 5 different pets - still all Holloway's familiars a bit like Webby - but all of them had unusual colours. A yellow goat, a bright pink pig, a blue dog like creature with grey on its face , a purple snake with eye like patterns down its sides, and a green cat like creature that seemed to summon tentacles whenever it liked.
The two of them discussed various witchy things, and eventually forged an agreement that Hannah could stay and help out in the diner, and she could work her divination business from the diner - making use of the phone line to do deliveries of some of the diner's goods and divination for the customers too.
And henceforth, Hannah's Divination Service was brought to Hatchetfield.
Pete, lying face down on his bed:"I said 'Neat,' Ruth. Who the fuck says neat these days? It's not neat to say neat but I said it anyways because I'm fucking stupid."
Ruth, reading a book:"Don't beat yourself up too much, Pete. Everyone gets nervous sometimes. Remember what I did when Grace confessed her love for me?"
Pete:"Didn't you thank her?"
Ruth, *closes the book and looks at the ceiling*:"I fucking thanked her."
now someone tell me what's stopping me from making a kiki's delivery service x hatchetfield au in which hannah is kiki, webby is jiji, holloway as osono.
