Some of you may remember this design I made a year ago. This is a repeat that I made for the same client since usps lost the parcel unfortunately. Love this creature design so much!

Trico art doll

I made a few Trico dolls back then in 2017/18 and this is one of those few creatures that I wanted to repeat after so many years. Surprisingly, I sculpted his head 90% from memory and only opened references to touch up some details. Definitely a quite memorable fella.

Resin, faux fur, plastic+wire skeleton, acrylic. Neck, tail, wings, loins are poseable. It's legs are semi poseable and also have ball jointed wrists.

This is fascinating, it looks like something from the Monster Hunter games.

I've heard that working with resin is dangerous, what process do you use?

First of all, I use photopolymer resin for 3D printing, not regular polymer resin. Although its vapors are considered less toxic, I print in isolated room with an exhaust hood. I also work in a mask with filters and use gloves. Also I use room air purifier with a carbon filter and seal all containers (including the printer with liquid resin in the tank) tightly.

Commission I made for talented AbzJHarding, and this character is from their comicbook Parliament of Rooks. (I hightly recommend you to go and check out their illustrations especially if you're into gothic stuff)

Doll is 75cm full length from the tip of beak to the tip of tail, fully poseable with wire skeleton inside. Green parts glow in UV light.

Head and claws are printed in durable resin. Fabric fur, feathers, wire, acrylic paint, varnish.
