Almost stayed in Singapore to be a teacher! For kids!! . A quick snippet of me teaching kids Creative Writing in Singapore! In costume!! 🥰 This is one of the things I did before coming to London 💖 Almost just stayed behind in Singapore to work as an assistant teacher in one of their highly ranked schools. Right after 13 years of working in nightclubs. . How? . I went in to one of the schools to ask to speak to the principal. I dressed up, wore my best outfit and just gunned it. They probably assumed my kid went there 😆 . The principal was kind and was frankly surprised by me 😂 I told her the truth - that my work surrounding myself with old, drunk, powerful men who acted like children - enabled me to have an INSANE patience with kids. And that there's something so precious and pure and real about teaching kids that the clubs painfully lacked. 😂 People could say that isn't the best interview answer. . . After a second interview, I was offered a job. Literally. I've just proven to myself that NO - you don't have to keep doing the same thing, and that people around you understand - your journey, what you want to do moving forward. Trust that what you're looking for is looking for you, too. . . I didn't end up taking the job. I ended up being the Head of Marketing and Entertainment instead in another company and within a few months, left and moved to London and til today - I'm here. . . . I went all out with my classroom and turned it into a different world in there. This was when I realised my patience for kids were paramount and that I loved teaching them (while learning from them, too!) . . You literally don't have to just be one bloody thing!
